the UK and Republic of Ireland published IFRS 1021 (effective l January 20191-
Objectives and activities
The purposes of the charity are to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing
people from becoming socially excluded. and the main attivities are for the wellbeing of older
people of the area.
The trustees tonfirm that they have referred to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit
when reviewing the Charivs aims and objertives. in planning future activities, and setting the
policies for the year.
The charity furthers it5 charitable purpose5 for the public benefit through volunteer5 delivering
community support for the benefit of older and disabled people of the area, providing social
activitie5 and outings a5 well as health and wellbeing classes.
Our actwities include a luncheon club, exercise and yoga classes. a range of arts and crafts activities
and urgent shopping support. Our aim is to provide social, prattical and emotional 5UPPOrt; all of
which enable members to remain independent and to have a meaningful, healthy and enjoyable
older age.
We recruit, train and support volunteers who help us run these services and activities based around
their interests, skills and experience.
A review of our achievements and performance: How our ¥tivlties delrvered publlc benefit
Our main achievements during the year was reducing the impact of social isolation by getting people
out of their homes and back into a community building where our activities help foster social
support and keep service users in contèct wrth each other, reducing isolation and loneliness. Over
IIX) clients benefit from our services. Some have had intensive help over a short period of time
whilst others benefit from ongoing day to day artN1t￿5.
Financial rewew
Our financial review is held after our AGM. Our Current funding from Manchester City Council will
end on 31, March 2025. We have been informed that our funding will be extended for a further
year, taking us to 31" March 2026. During thi5 period. we will be invited to undertake an application
proce55 to secure three year fundin& moving forward.
Investment powers and policy
The trustees, having regard to the liquidity requirements of operating the charity. have kept
available funds in an interest-bearing dep051t account.
Reserves policy and golng con¢em
The balance held in unrestricted reserves at 31" March 2024 was £45,209 of which all are free
reserves. after allowing for functs tied up in tangible fixed assets.

BURNAGE GOOD NEIGHBOURS
The trustees aim to maintain free reserves in unrestricted funds at a level which equates to
approximately three months of unrestrirted charitable expenditure. The trustees consider that this
level will provide sufficient funds to respond to applications for grants and ensure that support and
governance costs are covered.
The Charity's main source of income is grants and fees. The Trustees consider that it is appropriate
to prepare the accounts on a going concern basis and, consequently, the accounts ISJ not include
any adjustments that would be necessary if these sources of income should cease.
Risk management
The trustees have conducted a review of the major risks to which the charity is exposed and systems
have been established to mitigate those risks.
Plans for Future Periods
To continue to secure funds in addition to the central SupportinE Communities grant in order to
sustain our activities.
Strurture, zovernance and management
The Charity is a registered charity and is constituted under a trust deed dated February 2012.
Appointment of trustees
New trustees are appointed by existing trustees and serve for one year after which they may put
themselves forward for re-appointment. The Trust Deed provides for a minimum of 9 trustees, to a
maximum of 12 trustees, with no more than 3 trustees due for re-appointment in any one year.
At the bi-monthly trustee meetings, the trustees agree the broad strategy and area5 of activity for
the Charity, including investment. reserves and risk management polities and performance. The day
to day administration of the Charity is delegated to a senior manager.
Trustee induction and training
At the AGM trustees are appointed from the community who will Serve for the following year. New
