The trustees present their annual report and firTrancial statements of the charity for the year ended
31, March 2023, The financial st3tement5 have been prepared in accordance with the accounting
policies set out in note I to the accounts and compty wtth the charity's irust deed, the Charities A
2011 and Atcounting and Reporting by Charttie5: statement of Recommended Practice applicable to
charities preparTrn8 iheir accounts in accordance wrth the Financial Reporting Standard Applicable in
the UK and Republic of IreL3nd published IFRS 1021 leffeclrve l January 20191.
Objectives and activities
The purposes of the charity are to promote social inclusKJn for the public benefit by preventing
people from becominB socialfy excluded, and the main activslie5 are for the wellbeing of older
people of the area.
The trustees confirm that they have refer￿d to the Charrty Commission's guidance on public benefr(
when reviewing the charrt￿5 aims anLI objectives. in planning fuiure aciivrties, and setting the
policies for the year.
The charity furthers its charitable purposes for the publ¥c benefit through volunteer5 delNering
community support for the benefit of older and disabled people of the area as well as providing
social activities and outing5 as well as health and wellbeing classes.
Our activities include befriendin& luncheon club. exercise classes and simple DIY and urgent
shopping support. Our aim is to provide social, practical and emotional support all of which enable
members tts remain independent, have a meaningful, healthy and enjoyable older age.
We recruit, train and support volunteers who help us run these services and actNlties based around
their interests. skilLs and experience.
A revlew of our achlevements and performance= How our artlvltles dellvered publlc benefit
The main achievernenls during the year were that over 100 clients benefited frorn our service some
had intense help over a short period of time or are visiied in their own homes by volunteer
befrienders. Others benefit from day to day actNitie5 such as the exercise classes and lunch club and
we have also added an Art for Wellbeing class this year. These activrties have helped to reduce
loneliness and s¢xial isolation.
Financial review
Our financial review is held after OLsr AGM. We have this year secured a further year's funding from
Manchester City Council whFle they review the whole application process with the plan to offer a
three-year application.
Investment powers and pollcy
The trustees. having regard to the liquidity requiremenis of operating the charity. have kept
available funds in an interest-bearing deposit account_
Resenies policy and going concern
The balance held in unrestricted reserves at 31" March 2023 was £26,605 of which 3113re free
reseryes. after allowing for funds tied up in tangible fixed assets.
The trustee5 aim to maintain fTee rÈservÈs in unrestricted funds at a level whith equat@s to
approximatety three months of unrestricted charitable expenditure. The trustees consider that this

level will provide sufficient funds to respond to applications for grants and ensLtre that support and
governance C0$15 are covered.
The Charity'5 main source of income is grants and fees. The Trustees consider that rt is appropriate
to prepare the accounts on a going concern basis and. consequently. the accounts do not include
any adjustments that would be necessary If these sources of income should ce35e.
Risk management
The trustees have conducted a review of the major risks io which the charity is exposed and systems
have been established to mitigate those risks.
Plans for Future Periods
To continue to secure funds in addition to the central Wellbeing grant in order to 5UStain our
Bctivities.
Structyre. governance and management
The Charity is a registered charity and 15 constituted under a trust deed dated February 2012.
Appointmeni oltrustees
New trustees are appointed by existing trustees and serve for one year after which they may put
themselves forwaid for re-appointment_ The Trust Deed provides for a minimum of 9 trustees, to a
maximum of 12 trustees. with no more than 3 trustee5 due for re-appointment in any one year.
At the bi-monthly trustee meetings. the trustees agree the broad strategy and areas of activtty for
the Charity. including investment, reserves and risk management policies and performance. The day
to day administration of the Charity is delegated to senior manager.
Trustee induction and trainin8
At the AGM trustees are appointed from the community who will serve for the following year. New
trustees will be given suitable training and support where required. GDPR training has been taken by
the chatr this year.
