be¢auso 2023 included two significant legacigs,. exdudSng these the n81 unrestrioled gross inwme rose

¢)Jr Open Door activities continue lo bring into the church many who otheMi$e might not visit and we

The increase noted above was parlly offset by a small ￿dUCtion Sn planned giving and a5s0cialed gtri

also able lo support Bollinbrook School, The Children's sc￿lety. Christian Ald, and Ju51 Drop In through
amounts raised al services during the year.
Totsl unrestricted expenditure of £191.598 {2023 reslaled.. £218.746) was k*wer th8n In the prior year
due to reductions in repalrs and maint8nance. as some expendlture planned in 2024 was def&rred lo
2025. In addition, the cost to the church of the diocesan ql￿ta (parish share) fell when compared lo
the amounts pald In 2023. Savlng8 agalnst 2023 were also made within utilities and across a number
of other areas.
wsthin Ihe restrlcted funds, the suqnific8nl uplift during the year was principallywthin th¥ building5 funds.
The chur¢h has a number of urgent proj9¢ts in hand to make improvements to Ihe structur8 and inlerS0r,
Includlng the Ilghllng. healing and w*erproofing of the roof and these funds have b8en added lo over
the p8St few years lo pay forthesa improvamonts. The increase duriro the yearwas ¢Jue to the success
of a number of grant applicatlons mado by our churchward6ns. IncIL￿ing those from Garfield Weston
{£30.0001, Cheshlre East Greener C(Mnmunities Furbd {£15.oc(J). and Ban8fad Trust1£3,2501. In

Future dev•lopmonl$
Over the past Iwo yaars, tho ¢hur¢h has been actwely invofved in the disGu551ons relatlng lo the future
development of the Anglican communfty across Macclesfield. Sl Michael's has a partlcular role as the
