## **1.0 Introduction**
The Trustees present their annual report and financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31st December 2024. The Trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practices (SORP) ‘Accounting and reporting by charities’ issued in March 2005 in preparing the report and financial statement of the charity
## **1.1 Public Benefit Statement**
The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charites Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit "Charites and Public Benefit".
## **1.2 Structure, Governance and Management**
The Redeemed Christian Church of God Hope Chapel Manchester (RCCG Hope Chapel) is a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. This is a network comprised of churches all over the world. There is an agreement of common purposes entered into by RCCG Hope Chapel Manchester with the Redeemed Christian Church of God which documents this relationship.
Registered in 2012, it is governed by a Trust Deed and is controlled by a board of trustees whose members are appointed as set out in the constitution of the charity. Membership of the Board of Trustees consists of 3 individuals appointed by the charity who are of high spiritual and moral standing.
## **1.3 Objectives and Activities**
The charities main objects are:
- The advancement of Christian religion worldwide, and
- The relief of poverty worldwide
It pursues these objects by the operation of a centre for Christian worship currently located at 958/960 Stockport Road, Manchester and through other community-based events aimed at reaching out the un-churched members of the community.

## **Board of Trustee’s Report**
As a local parish our motto is “restoring hope to humanity through the Holy Spirit”. This reinforces our focus on less privilege, drug addict, jobless, families, young adults and children. We believe that
strong families are the building blocks of stronger communities, and strong community clusters are in turn the backbone of cohesive society and nations. We seek to achieve this by encouraging a culture of faith and prayer within our community through our Sunday celebration/prayer services and Wednesday bible study meeting. _”_
## **1.4 Achievements and Performance**
## **NEW YEAR THANKSGIVING**
New Year thanksgiving was held on Sunday, 1st of January 2024. There were great excitements in the church being the first Sunday and the first day of the year. There were a lot of testimonies and all kinds of appreciations from different members and with great hope for a better a year ahead.
## **JOB EXPOSITION PROGRAMME**
The Youth arm of the church organized a job exposition programme which was held on January13th, 2024 virtually with high numbers of participants.

## **TEENS CAREER AWARENESS SUNDAY**
The church organised teens career awareness Sunday on the 14th and 21st of January,2024. some professionals including the pastor took time to sensitise them on the choice of career as some of them are in the college and preparing to go to the university. They were all extremely blessed.
## **HOPE CHAPEL 13TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY**
The church held her 13th year anniversary between 9th and 11th February 2024. It was tagged GLORY CONFERENCE, two different guest ministers were invited. The period was a moment of great reflection of God’s glory and participant were blessed.

**Board of Trustee’s Report**
## **WOMEN OF HOPE PROGRAMME**
The women of the church (WOH) held a programme 9th of March 2024 tagged Purposeful Parenting, a guest minister was invited who took time to speak to all parents on their roles in bringing up their children, all participants were blessed and subsequent time.
## **EASTER SUNDAY PROGRAMME**
The church organized an Easter Sunday programme in the church on 31st of March 2024 to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, it was awesome moment in the presence of God.
## **LEADERSHIP AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT SERIES**
The youths of the church organised a leadership and career development progamme on 13th of April 2024 for the youths, it was an eye opener for the youths and some of the teenagers in the area of choosing a career.
## **HEALTH WORKSHOP 2024**
A one day health workshop was jointly organised by the men and the women of the on 11th of May 2024. Every aspect of health were toched both by the speaker that spoke virtualy and the one onsight.
It was so much educative and it held many to have a redirection about their healths.

## **WORKERS RETREAT 2024**
The church authority organized a one- day workers retreat on Saturday 25th May, 2024 for the church workers. It was a great time of revival and blessing for every participant.
## **CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION**
This year children’s day celebration was marked on the 26th of May, 2024 . It was a fun fair for all the children that were in attendance. They were all excited
## **FATHERS’DAY 2024**
This year fathers day was celebrated on 16th June ,2024 in
the church and a football tournament was held on the 15th of June among some RCCG churches in Manchester. It was an event of great bonding
## **YOUTH SUNDAY**
Youth Sunday was held on 23rd of June 2024 , the entire service was anchored by the youths, all parents were happy seeing the youths playing great roles in a Sunday service and everyone was blessed.

## **2024 MID-YEAR PRAISE**
This year mid-year praise was held on Saturday 22nd, June 2024 in the church. The hands of God were felt during the programme, souls were lifted and God’s presence was powerfully in move in the house.
## **2024 TEENS SUNDAY**
The Teens arm of the church held their Sunday on 30th of June 2024. The church was blessed through them and a lot of potentials were discovered.
## **2024 PASTORS APPRECIATION WEEK**
Pastors appreciation week was observed in the church , members reached out to our pastors in different ways.
## **WOMEN OF HOPE RETREAT 2024**
The women of the church had a three day retreat outside the church between 19th and 21st of July where they invited a guest minister, they had great time in God’s presence and also had fun.

## **2024 HOUSE FELLOWSHIP AWARENESS SUNDAY**
The church held her house fellowship awareness Sunday, a lot of events took place such as kahoot, bible quiz and sword drill. It was colorful and every participant was happy and the entire church were blessed.
## **MEN OF HOPE BARBECUE**
Men of the church organised a barbecue get-together at Runcorn on 24th of August 2024 . The programe had huge number of turn out of men in attendance, it was colorful and also a feasting event.
## **MANCHESTER TEENS/CHILDREN BIBLE QUIZ COMPETITION 2024**
The teenagers and the children participated in a quiz competiton organised by a christian body in Manchester.Their performance was outsanding.
## **WOMEN OF HOPE EVANGELISM OUTREACH**
The women arm of the church organised an evangelism outreach on Saturday 12th of October 2024. The women used the opportunity to reach out to souls within the evanronment. Souls were won to Christ during the event.

## **DESTINY YOUTH SUNDAY**
The youth had their Sunday on 27th of October 2024 tagged ‘Dominion’ in a full Sunday service. The Sunday service was anchored by them, their messages came in through drama, symposium and sermon. Every worshipper was blessed and members looked forward to having such event again.
## **MEN AND WOMEN OF HOPE PARENTING WORKSHOP**
Both men and women of the church organised a parenting workshop tagged parenting involvement in a child’s education. A guest speaker was invited and she spoke extensively on the roles of parent in their children’s education.
## **2024 END OF YEAR PRAISE/LOVE FEAST**
The annual end of the year praise and love feast was held on Sunday 15th of December 2024 at an event centre. Members praised God ,dined and wined and everyone were blessed and happy for being part of the annual event.
## **2024 CHRISTMAS JUMPER,APPRECIATION AND CAROL SERVICE**
The church held her christmas carol and appreciation service was held on Sunday 22nd 2024. It was colourful,members were appreciated and there were few exchange of gifts among members.

## **2024 CROSSOVER SERVICE**
2024 cross over service was observed in the church on 31st of December. A guest gospel instrumentalist was invited. The church was full to her peak; the atmosphere was saturated with the presence of God. It was a great time for praising God and pouring of heart desires to God in prayer.
## **Hope Chapel Charity Support**
Hope Chapel RCCG support different charities worldwide Including different churches in UK/ Nigeria in need of Support/Welfare.

## **1.6 Risk Management**
The trustees are quite satisfied with the management of the finances to fulfil the charity’s objectives despite the unpredictable nature of our income.
The trustees actively review the major risks which the charity faces on a regular basis. The trustees have examined the major strategic, business and operational risks which the charity faces and confirm that systems have been established to enable regular reports to be produced so that the necessary steps can be taken to lessen these risks including DBS checks on all volunteers working with children.
## **1.7 Financial Review**
During the year to 31st December 2024, the church had a total income of £268,410. At the year end, the level of cash reserves available for the charity’s use (excluding fixed assets) was £291,696. Total operating charitable expenditure was £223,175 giving an operating surplus of £45,235.
The Charity’s principal funding sources are the individuals who attend the church services and partner with the ministry via monthly donations.
## **1.8 Reserve Policy**
The Trustees are aware of the need to establish a reserves policy to maintain a balance on unrestricted funds and are working to achieve a desired level of funds of about 30-35% of the gross income.

## **1.9 Volunteers**
The number of volunteers in 2024 was relatively stable. Some had to relocate to their home country after the expiry of their visas. Active volunteers are about 60 and passive about 10.

## **2.0 Trustees’ Responsibilities**
The trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.
Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the net income or expenditure of the charity for the year. In preparing these financial statements the trustees are required to:
- Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
- Make judgments and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
- State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and
- Prepare the financial statements on the going-concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

**Report to the trustees/members of:** The Redeemed Christian Church of God Hope Chapel **On accounts for the year ended:** 31st December 2024, set out on pages 21 - 25 **Charity No:** 1145966
## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
## It is my responsibility to:
- examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
- to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act), and
- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
## **Basis of independent examiner’s statement**
My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
- (1) which give me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements:
- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act;

## **Accounting Policies**
## **Scope and Basis of the Financial Statements**
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with applicable accounting standards and the Statement of Recommended Practice Accounting and Reporting by Charities published in March 2005.
## **Income**
Revenue is recognised in the period in which the charity is entitled to receipt once the amount can be measured with reasonable certainty.
## **Expenses**
Expenditure is included in the Statement of Financial Activities (SoFA) on an accruals basis and is recognised at the point when a legal or constructive obligation arises. The majority of costs are directly attributable to specific activities. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
## **Fixed assets**
Fixed assets with an individual purchase of £300 or more are capitalised and stated at cost less depreciation which is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of each asset over its expected useful life as follows:
