## **1.0 Introduction**
The Trustees present their annual report and financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31st December 2022. The Trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practices (SORP) ‘Accounting and reporting by charities’ issued in March 2005 in preparing the report and financial statement of the charity
## **1.1 Public Benefit Statement**
The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charites Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit "Charites and Public Benefit".
## **1.2 Structure, Governance and Management**
The Redeemed Christian Church of God Hope Chapel Manchester (RCCG Hope Chapel) is a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. This is a network comprised of churches all over the world. There is an agreement of common purposes entered into by RCCG Hope Chapel Manchester with the Redeemed Christian Church of God which documents this relationship.
Registered in 2012, it is governed by a Trust Deed and is controlled by a board of trustees whose members are appointed as set out in the constitution of the charity. Membership of the Board of Trustees consists of 3 individuals appointed by the charity who are of high spiritual and moral standing.
## **1.3 Objectives and Activities**
The charities main objects are:
- The advancement of Christian religion worldwide, and
- The relief of poverty worldwide
It pursues these objects by the operation of a centre for Christian worship currently located at 958/960 Stockport Road, Manchester and through other community-based events aimed at reaching out the un-churched members of the community.

## **Board of Trustee’s Report**
As a local parish our motto is “restoring hope to humanity through the Holy Spirit”. This reinforces our focus on less privilege, drug addict, jobless, families, young adults and children. We believe that
strong families are the building blocks of stronger communities, and strong community clusters are in turn the backbone of cohesive society and nations. We seek to achieve this by encouraging a culture of faith and prayer within our community through our Sunday celebration/prayer services and Wednesday bible study meeting. _”_
## **1.4 Achievements and Performance**
## **YOUTH JOB FAIR AND CAREER EXPO - 02/01/2022**
The youth wing of the church organized a workshop/seminar which was widely attended by good numbers of the youths and invitees.
## **HOPE CHAPEL RCCG 11[TH] YEAR ANNIVERSARY**
Hope chapel celebrates an amazing 11th year anniversary, **Theme: Shining in Glory** . It was a 3-Day event withseasoned Speakers. We give God the glory for the move of God during the event.
## **SUNDAY SCHOOL REGIONAL CONFERENCE 26-27/03/2022**
The Sunday school regional conference was held virtually and it was attended by some of members and Teachers.

**Mothers Day Celebration 27/03/2022**
Mothers’ day was celebrated by the women of Hope Chapel wiyh a Theme: ‘Godly Mother’. It was a glorious moment before the Lord and the women used the occassion to show their gratitudes to their husbands as well as all women in the house.
## **Light Up Manchester 12/03/2022**
This is a monthly programme embarked by Hope Chapel to reach out to the unsaved through evangelism and extending the hands of hospitality to the needies in Manchester and environ.
## **RCCG WEEK OF PRAYER 28/03 to 02/04/2022**
Hope Chapel participated in week of prayer organised by the mission.
## **Easter Sunday 17/04/2022**
The Easter Weekend was another great weekend we the church celebrates the love of Christ virtually due to the pandemic.

## **Women Of Hope Barbeque, May 14[th] ,2022**
The women wing of the church held their barbeque on the 14th of May, 2022 at the designated venue’
## **Men of Hope Empowerment 2022**
- The men of the church held an empowerment programme tagged ‘ **Journey to Entrepreneurship’** we had four different in-house speakers that handled various aspect of our day to day lives
## **Childrens Day Celebration 29/05/2022**
This is a date set aside to celebrate the children, They all ministered in different aspect during the chruch service. They were all excited to participate in such an annual event

**- Empowerment Conference June 3rd 5th,2022**
An empowerment Conference was held in the church to equip the church members both spiritually and in their secular lives which help them to be productive so that they can give back to the society.
## **Youth Summer Hang out June 18th,2022**
Youth Summer Hangout was organised by the church for more integration among the youths,this realy boosted their participation in church activities.
## **Mid Year Praise 2022**
The mid-year praise was held on June 11[th] , 2022. It was a glorious event that lifted many souls and impacted lives.

## **Light up Salford**
Light ups are monthly evangelism programme held by the church and that of June was held on June 18th, 2022 at Salford
## **Fathers Day June 19th,2022**
The first of its kind house fellowship Sunday, It was a way of educating the church about HF, it was parked with the 6 house fellowship centre of the church showcaing talents with games amongs other things.
## **Marriage Conference June 25th,2022**
The church held a marriage conference on June 25th,2022 in a venue outside the church environment anchored by a seasoned pastor . It was romantic , every couple in attendance had fun and were equally blessed.

## **Football Match July 9[th] ,2022**
The church organised a football match between the men and destiny youths, alot of calories were burnt.
## **Light Up Longsight**
The monthly evangelism outreach for the month of July was held on the 16[th] of july,2022 at Longsight with good number of the church members in attendance.
## **Destiny Youths Empowerment Programme July 16[th] , 2022**
The Youth wing of the church organised an empowerment programme virtually tagged FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT. The programme was well attented by most of the youths and some of the church members

## **Football Match, July 23rd, 2022**
A football match was organised between Men of Hope ( the men) of the church and Global Visoin Initiative on the 23[rd] of July,2022 which was played at Power League Ardwick Manchester.
## **Family Fun Day Barbeque July 30[th] , 2022**
The annual family barbeque event came up on the 30th of July,2022. It was a fun fare event that cut across all members of the church. All kinds of sporting activities were not left out as members wined and dined.
## **Immigration Workshop,July 31[st] , 2022**
The church put together an immigration workshop on Sunday 31st of July,2022 to sensitise the church members on immigration matters. There were cross sections of questions and answers that provide solution to some immigration challenges.

## **Women Conference, August 6th, 2022**
The Women of Hope,the women wing of the church organised a conference with the theme SHINNING IN GLORY and a guest minister was invited.
## **- Church Summer Outing Friday 26[th] Monday 29[th] of August,2022**
The church organised a summer outing for all interested members that took them out of Manchester to Wales with family members.
## **RCCG Uk National Teachers Conference 9[th] -10[th] September,2022.**
The teachers conference was held virtually for two days and Sunday school teacher in Hope Chapel were in attendance.
## **Students Welcome week, September 19[th] -23[rd] ,2022.**
The annual students welcome week for 2022 took place between 19th and 23rd of september,2022 at Manchester University.The team led the group of other church members to the venue of the programme to welcome new students to the university environment and also used the opportunity to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the new students and to invite them to the church.

## **Special Sunday October 2[nd] , 2022**
The church held a special programme on October 2nd,2022 with the theme OUTPOURING GRACE and a guest pastor and the wife were invited.
## **Festival Of Life ,October 14[th] ,2022**
FOL was held on 14th of October,2022 in London . It was the first physical gathering of FOL after the out break of the pandemic.
## **Youth Sunday\Fresher Luncheon,October 30[th] ,2022**
Youth Sunday\Fresher Luncheon was held on the 30[th] of October both freshers and old students in the church were integrated.

Men of the church organised an online empowerment programme and a speaker was invited .

The monthly evangelism outreach for the month of November was held on the the 19th day of the month with good numbers of ministers and workers in attendance for the soul winning
## **End of year praise. December 3[rd] ,2022**
The church annual end of the year praise event was held on the 3rd of December, 2022 in the church auditorium. A guest artiste and different church choristers were invited to bring down the glory of God through praise, it was a soul lifting gathering.

## **Christmas Jumper/Workers Appreciation. December 18[th] , 2022**
This year Christmas Jumper /workers appreciation Sunday was observered on the 18th of December 2022. During the event, members wore the Christmas jumber and all categories of workers were appreciated .
## **Carol Service.December 24[th] , 2022**
The church Christmas Carol service was held on 24th of December, every arm of the church participated in the service through rendition of special numbers .
## **Cross Over Night. December 31[st] ,2022**
The cross over service was held on the last day of the year to transit into a new year,2023

## **1.6 Risk Management**
The trustees are quite satisfied with the management of the finances to fulfil the charity’s objectives despite the unpredictable nature of our income.
The trustees actively review the major risks which the charity faces on a regular basis. The trustees have examined the major strategic, business and operational risks which the charity faces and confirm that systems
have been established to enable regular reports to be produced so that the necessary steps can be taken to lessen these risks including DBS checks on all volunteers working with children.
## **1.7 Financial Review**
During the year to 31st December 2022, the church had a total income of £232,439. At the year end, the level of cash reserves available for the charity’s use (excluding fixed assets) was £227,042 (of which £40,060 is restricted). Total operating charitable expenditure was £165,692 giving an operating surplus of £66,747.
The Charity’s principal funding sources are the individuals who attend the church services and partner with the ministry via monthly donations.
## **1.8 Reserve Policy**
The Trustees are aware of the need to establish a reserves policy to maintain a balance on unrestricted funds and are working to achieve a desired level of funds of about 30-35% of the gross income.
## **1.9 Volunteers**
The number of volunteers in 2021 was relatively stable. Some had to relocate to their home country after the expiry of their visas. Active volunteers are about 60 and passive about 10.

## **2.0 Trustees’ Responsibilities**
The trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.
Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the net income or expenditure of the charity for the year. In preparing these financial statements the trustees are required to:
- Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
- Make judgments and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
- State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material
- departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and
- Prepare the financial statements on the going-concern basis unless it is inappropriate to
- presume that the charity will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
## It is my responsibility to:
- examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
- to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act), and
- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
## **Basis of independent examiner’s statement**
My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
## **Independent examiner’s statement**
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
- (1) which give me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements:
- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act;
- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met; or
- (2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **Accounting Policies**
## **Scope and Basis of the Financial Statements**
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with applicable accounting standards and the Statement of Recommended Practice Accounting and Reporting by Charities published in March 2005.
## **Income**
Revenue is recognised in the period in which the charity is entitled to receipt once the amount can be measured with reasonable certainty.
## **Expenses**
Expenditure is included in the Statement of Financial Activities (SoFA) on an accruals basis and is recognised at the point when a legal or constructive obligation arises. The majority of costs are directly attributable to specific activities. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
## **Fixed assets**
Fixed assets with an individual purchase of £300 or more are capitalised and stated at cost less depreciation which is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of each asset over its expected useful life as follows:
