Where l¢ga¢i¢5 have been notified to the charity, or the charity is aware of ihe granting of probate, and the criteria for income recognition have not been met, then the legacy is a treated as a contingent asset and disclosed ifmalerial. Interest on fund5 held on deposit is included when CeIVable and the amount can be measured reliably by the charity. this is normally upon notification of the interest paid or payable by the Bank. Expendlture Liabilities are recognised as cxpendimre as soon as ih¢r¢ is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to that cxpenditur¢, it is probable that a transfer of economic bencfits will b¢ required in settlement and th¢ amount of thc obligation Can be measured reliably.
