Aebievements and Perforniance
Charitable activities
Overall, this bas been a g(M)d year for the church. There have been high points WTth the commencement of the phase 3 building
works to provide a new kitchen and toilets, but also low poiuts with the closure of the Girls, Brigade company after 60 years
and a couple of deaths of long-standing members. Through it all however we've been able to look back and see God's hand
guiding and sustaining the Chl￿Ch. The following paragrdphs are highlight's from some of our regular and other ctivities, many
of which benefit the communily around us as w¢ll as our regular members.
Our Sunday services are always a Qore focus of what we do. Our congregation is growing. both in person on a Sunday morning
and with the number of people joining on-line and we now have over 200 followers/subscribers split between our Facebook and
YouTube platfonns. A day of prayer in May 2024 had brought three words of en¢ourag¢ment from the Lord. Our long-serving
treasurer Hugh, retired at the end of Ma￿h 2025. We thank him for hi5 dedication and Servi￿ over many years and we are
pl¢as¢d to have Jo taking over from the I" April.
The Sunbertms toddlers group we started last year on a Tuesday morning is continuing to grow. Kirstie. the leader, says: "We
are very blessed to have this opportunity to serve local families in our community. We have 6-7 regular familc5 coining alon
although not all at the sam¢ time, wh¢n all children ar¢ present we have l O-I I cbildren and 6 athilts" Our Sundfty School has 8
rcgislered, 4 are below school age, l is currently in year R and ihe other 3 are in secondary education, with the majority
attcnding most weeks. Our .￿.￿leAn&elS Pre-schoof Has a good start to the new school year in September 2024 with new
children settlTng inverHas a good start to the new school year in September 2024 with new children settling inver quickly both
in Scptember and again after Christmas. We aspire that every ¢hild reaches their fvll potential before diey go to school, that
they leave us a happy, positive, more independent and kind child that can feel proud of their own acliievements.
Our 'Oaslf' group for adults with addilional needs and their carers meets every Wednesday l Oam to 12noon with the ex¢eption
of school holidays. It is a rel&xed atmosphere Whe￿ people can enjoy listening to rnusic, playing games, doing puzzles and
doing crafts. There is also a regular sing-along which is very popular. In January 2025 we started a new day-ithie Blble slurfy
group, there are now 8 of us meeting regularly and the forniat is in the foTm of a discussion rather than one person teaching.
Another newish group is 'Cuppa ftnd Chal, Joy the leader of this group says: "We have about 8 ladies thar come, although we
have had 2 men join us on OLLÉisions. We send most of our time sharing with each other and enjoying each other's company as
most of us live on our own and 8cI lonely at times." Popular amon& the rnen i5 the monthly Men& BreoAfftsl on the first
Saturday moming of each month when about 12 men (once peaked at 17) gather to enjoy a 'healihy' breakfast as share together.
We also have general Fellowshlp Evenls on an ad-hoc basis wbich are open to all and in January 2025 produced our fwst
'Ev¢nts Diary, with all the social events thiough to July.
As a church we support various mi&sionary societies, this year we welcomed a number of visiting speakers from.. Wycliffe Bible
Translators. BMS World Mi55ion" Th¢ Leprosy Mission. Scripture Union. Open Doors. and Barnabus.Aid. Some of these
speakers lead our Sunday services, while other were a weekday evening where supper pre¢eeded a talk.
Financial Review
The charity continues to be funded mainly through gifts and donation5 from rnembers of the charity, plus incorne from the pre-
school. The building work for phase 3 of our rebuilding plan cominenced in the sewnd part of this fAnancial period which has
all but exhausted our building fund, a large proportion of our general account and will leave an amount due to the builde￿ in the
new financial period which is recognised as a liability in the following Statement of Financial Affain. The trustees are
confident that these funds will be forthcoming and that the charity continues to ￿ a going concen).
