FarehAm Baptist Neiv Life Church Report of the Trustees st for tbe year ended 31 March 2024 Achi¢vem¢nls And Performance Charitable activities Actin Seeretaries Re ort As I look back at 2023, 1 am amazed at how much has happened and how God led the church tl]rough a year of transition. The year started with ow Pastor Rev Alan Rogers Tetiring after many years leading the church. The Iheme verse God led us to was frojn Malachi chapter 3 and versc 16 441 tbe Lord do not ehange". Coupled with this tbe deacons felt we should not seek a new pastor or an extemal moderator until at least the next phase of the building work was completed. This was ratified by the church me¢ting. So you might suppose this would be d year of 'treading water,. How mistak¢n you would be..... During a deacons Quiet Day in Pebruary. we were prompted to start thinking about an OLLtrcach onto ihe Rowner Estate and initial enquires were mad¢. In April at the Annual Church Mccting David Alison and Matthew Hibberd were called to join thc deaconate, also the idea about a Ro￿Trer outreach along with a possibl¢ venue was broughi to the membership and acLepted. More detailed plans were then shared and accepted at the members meeting in May. We had the initial meeting of the Rowner outreach at the Nimrod Centre on the 4 June, in one of the smaller rooms, which proved loo small. Th¢s¢ services were continued on thc I st Sunday of each tllonth for the rest of the year. Towards the end of the year, we were asked to lead a Community Carol Service at the centre. also Gosport Waterfront Baptist Church expressed interest of joining with us for th¢ Rowncr Outreach. Thc Cornmunity Carol service was successful and well attended. We also startcd rebuilding relationships with the Southem Counties Baptist Association, attending several association meeting5 at Basingsloke BaptASt Church and wclcoming Rev Simon Gray to another Deacons Quiet Day later in the year. The Bible School which Alan had been rLU)ning on alterndte Thursday evenings Came to a natural conclusion at the summer bTeak in August. For fLve Wednesday evenings in Nov¢mber, wc ran ihe C ol'F. Difference Course both in-person in the loung7e and on Zoom which was well reccived and plans we made to do something SiEnilar in the New Year. A new Babyrroddler and Carcr support group Sunbeams was started in September, initially meeting monthly. This slarted with largc numbers but tailed off as winter approached. We also hosted Baptismal services for two other churches during the second part of the year and it was great to see our buildings packed on these occasions. All of this happened in addition lo and alongside all of the regular long teTm weekly activities of Sunday worship, Prayer Meetings, Oasis Group for those with additional need5, Girls. Brigade and Activ8 whose reports you will fmd elsewhere. In conclusion, God proved ihe theme verse of being tbe satne faithful God who continued to bless the church despite Alan's retirement, but that it was tar from a y¢ar of just 'trcading wateT'. We look forward with excilement of wher¢ God will lead in th¢ coming years. John De￿- Acling Secretary. Page 4

Fareham Baptist New Life Church Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31, March 2024 "Men $ Breakfasts. _ 2024 f was 'sure' I'd made out our Men's Breakfast report already, but I guess I'll have to put its disappearance down to a hungry laptop that seems to have digested it ¢Jnd not even left a crumb of incriminating evidence. I don't know about (￿Y of you other guys, but my scales and tape measure are startin9 to point very accusing fingers at mell It would seem that some drastic measures are in need of serious consideration. When the safety of some of the buttons on my various waistcoats are in jeopardy, its time to take actionl Perhaps I should consider stickin9 to cereals or maybe toast and marmalade ??? I'll pray about it and maybe get back to you next time. Seriously though guys. it's great to gather together to encourage one-another and share what God has done ond is continuirvj to do in our lives. One thing I will say and with this I'll climb down off my soapbox, and that is....... lookin9 at... and hearing about the state of our sick and wayward world how many more breakfasts will there be before our Lord Jesus returns and calls us home? I'll leave that with you. So, back to ' the food, we've enjoyed fellowship over well-cooked breakfasts and are grateful to those responsible f or (a) turning out f aithf ully, regularly and early enough and in all weathers, to hove it all ready for when the clarion call goes out.come and get it!. Gr(Jteful th(mk go also to those who forsake their beds early enough to set up our dining orea already to 90. Thanks must also go to the"Little Angelsfi15taff who often times leave the area already for us. Now and again, we also have the pleasure of our womenfolk and look forward to repeat occasions in this comin9 year. As the menfolk of the fellowship. our numbers have not been as great as we would like and would encourage one and all to spread the word. As it also says in the word "it 1$ good for man to dwell together in unison" and one of the better ways (my opinion) to do this is to see if we can't °build-up, the inner man. by building up 'the outer one. also? and what better way than round the breakfast table and a bite to eat to start the day. Let's see if. in this comin9 year, we can't spread the Word. the Good News like we spread marmalade on Toast. Blessings - John Curd Page 5

This last year was ni exception, and over £300 was raised, as well as our being able to welcome friends and families from outside the church circle. Age, Covid and high prices have broughi the church holidays to an end after wecks spent in Bournemouth, Torquay, Eastboum¢. and the 151e of Wight. The balance remaining in the holiday account, £236, has been allocated to thc building fund. We thank all who went to make these holidays such fun. ID October, Geoft and Irene visited us from Open Doors. We hcard about how the charity serves persecuted Christians around the world. including in places like North Korea where having a Bible would result in an entire family being sent to prison. Fareham Baptist New Life Churcb Report of the Trustee for the year ended 31. Mareh 2024 Oasi5 Grou We are a social group for adults with additional needs and their carers. We meet every Wednesday 10am until 12pm, with the exception of school holidays. We have 9 members of our group who are accompanied by 7 carers, we occasionally get a few more carers if they are in training. Every week members, numbers vary due to illness or appointments. It is a relaxed atmosphere where people can enjoy listening to music and have a chat with a cup of tea or coffee and cake. We have a range of puzzles and books which everyone can use and swap and share. We also play games such as dominoes, Connect4 and card games. We have been doing some work in scrapbooks this year. Irs been interesting finding out lots of new things about each other via pictures. Crafting is popular, making cards, colouring, sewing and threading beads have also been enjoyed by all. We have a large tree poster which was made by Julia, and everyone helps to decorate it according to the seasons. We are all very proud of it. We enjoy a sing song and have adopted the community song as our own. David Townrow has a skill at getting everyone singing, helped along with Wendy who knows all the actions. In April 23 we had a trip to Petersfield Lake, looking at wildlife and a walk, followed by a meal in Poppins Cafe. The weather was a little crisp and windy, but it was good spending time together and warming up in the cafe. The lake is beautiful in any weather. At Christmas we had a party when Father Christmas visited us with gifts. We also discovered that Lloyd loves sausage rolls and mince pies very much. Lloyd has also become a regular worshipper, joining us on a Sunday morning. It is great to hear him singing along with the songs of praise and worship- I Ihink his favourite song is How Great Thou Art. We are always open to prayer requests as and when requested by our members and ask that you all remember Oasis in your prayers. I would like to give a big thank you to David, Gill, Julia. Val and Wendy for all their help. Liz Allison - leader. Pagell

Fareham Baptist New Life Church Report of the Trustees yt for the y¢ar ended 31 March 2024 Junior Church Re ort 2023-2024 It has been delightful to see the numbers of children in Church increase during the year. There are now up to 7 children who attend Junior Church. There are three Junior Church leaders at the present. My heartFelt thanks go to LizAllison and Sarah Cartwright for being such stalwarts. I have so enjoyed working with our 2 older children over the years, watching them develop along their spiritual paths. However, the Lord has increasingly laid on my heart the need to work with the younger children. By July I knew I had to change my focus. From September I have taught a very simple lesson to the younger children, reading or telling a Bible story. Early on I discovered that they loved singing. And in the run up to Christmas, I intrOdU￿d a simple craft. So, although initially l expected to just do a story and a prayer and that they would play for the rest of the session, the toys have not come out of the cupboard for several weeks now! The parents of the younger children stay with them so that we don't need another leader. Liz and Sarah still help with the older two children when they come on alternate weeks. We have looked at stories from Acts, and the parables and miracles of Jesus. Please pray for our children and young people, that they will grow and develop their own relationships with God. l also urge you to pray for more leaders, who are able and willing to teach or help in Junior Church week-by-week. It is our collective responsibility as a Church to help lead these children and young people to Christ. Jesus pla￿d children at the centre when others would have marginalised them. Let us place them at the ￿ntre too, not indulging them but bringing them up to be responsible. disciplined Christian young people. Children and young people are a vital part of the Chuich. We cannot be Church without them. Wendy Townrow Page 12

Money has been a const(U]t struggle as the Government funding for children we rcceivc does not coTrcr the full Lost of a child's place arld the national wag¢ keeps going up! Because of this and as a way of trying to save money we had to takc the decision to not replace Sue and Charlotte but to inslead me (LoTraine) Sam and Mich¢ll¢ would work ￿11 time in the Pre-school room. This has meant a lot of our papenvork has to be done at home in our own time. We are lucky to have Annie in the otTice working and she keeps all our children's scrapbooks up to date. It has been a challengiug year with the children we have. We have a few children who have cballenging behaviour and additional n¢¢ds. We will miss her on the comtnittee and send our thoughts to all her family. We are still searching for a parent to join our committee and hope to find someone soon. Students W¢ always like to support our local students in our area to help them with their leaming and development.
