aim is to provide a safe accessible route for walkers, horse riders, cyclists and the disabled to the benefit of both local inhabitants and tourists (visitors) to Dorset.Specifically to establish a Public Bridleway route along the course of the old Somerset and Dorset Railway line, initially from Stalbridge to Corfe Mullen and eventually to connect with the Castlemain Trailway at Broadstone.
Objects: The Aim Is To Provide A Safe Accessible Route For Walkers, Horse Riders, Cyclists And The Disabled To The Benefit Of Both Local Inhabitants And Tourists To Dorset.specifically, To Establish A Route With Bridleway Status Along The Course Of The Old Somerset And Dorset Railway Line, Initially From Stalbridge To Corfe Mullen And Eventually To Connect With The Castleman Trailway At Broadstone. Where The Original Route Is Not Accessible, To Establish The Best Possible Alternative, Ensuring A Continuous Route. (this Route Is Not To Be For Use By Motorised Vehicles Other Than Electric Cycles, Disability Wheelchairs And Authorised Vehicles (e.g. Maintenance.))the Aim Will Be Achieved By Means Ofa)re-Establishing Bridges Over The River Stour Where They Have Been Removedb)establishing Rights Of Way Where There Are Gaps In The Routec)acquiring Land Where Necessary To Complete The Routed)helping With Practical Clearing And Maintainance Of The Routee)co-Operating And Liaising With All Organisations Which Have Influence On Our Objectives Including Town And Parish Councils, County And District Councils, Dorset Countryside Rangers, Sustrans, Ramblers Association, British Horse Society, Dorset Cycling Network.to These Ends The Ndtn Will Seek To Raise Funds A)to Facilitate The Continuance Of Its Workb) To Publicise Its Workc)to Contribute To The Acquisition Of Land, Row, Bridges Etc.
