STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENTOFTHE ASSOCIATION
The Conf8d8r8tion of B8ngl8deshi Org8nis8tionB. a community and voluntsry organisation, was first established in
1985 under a constitutional document as an umbrell8 for Bangiadgshi organisations in the Metropolitan Borough of
Sandwellto provide a collectlV8 VOIC8 for communicating community needs and providing representation, In April1993,
the organisatlon became 8 registered Charity. On 14July 2011, the org8nis8tion formed a company known a8 the
Confèderation of Bangiadeshl Organlsatlons {CBOI Limited I'CBO'I. On 1 April 2012. operations began through thls
Llmited Company.

To promote the beneflt of the Inh8bltants of Sandwell, wlth partlcuiar attention to occommodatlngthe
charitable needs of Indlvlduals of Bangi8deshl descent, by:

Centre and 8urrounding18nds on a rent-free b8sIs.
Sandw811 Council is one of our key partners and stakeholders, and CBO will continue to develop and gnh8nce
partner8hlp workingto b8neflt the Ioc81 residents.

GTeÈts Green Re80urce8 C8ntr8 18 able to offer a wlde range of outdoor sporting and recreationalfacllltle8 for
all $e¢tlon8 of the communlty, includlng: Chlldren's playare8, MUGA (Multl-use Games Area), Outdoor gym
and cornmuntygard8n area where people can growtheir own vegetables and soclallse.
Bulldlng Brlghter Futur•8 (BBF) 5-yearfundlngfrom The Natlonal Lottery Communlty Fund
Successfullydelivered the 5th year of the BBF project. The project alms to bring isolated BME communitiès
together and build strong relationshlps in 8nd across communities. Actlvlties provided range from social,
recreatlonal, 8nd health activities to advice, tralnlng and focused interventions offering 8 holistic approach.
Care Servlc•8 - Advlce Programl Communlty Dav•lopment
Focusing on welfare towork, our multi-disciplinaryteam c8n supportthe mostvulnerable and hard-to-re8¢h
families to ensure they are supported to secure thelr entitlement and those able to work are supported to
improve skllls and ultimately take control of thèir lives through securing employment, so take posltive steps out
of the cycle of deprivation.
Ouradvi¢eteam secur8d £1.2m in confirmed benefits. which equates to 8 £18 Increase In Income for local
r95idents for each £1 of funding. Due to our positive reputation in th8 community, we are seeing clients from
diver88 backgrounds, and only 46% 8re of Bans￿deshI origin.
Looking ahead, the biggest challenge will bethe impact of the cost-of-living crisis in particularly on those who
are already in povertywill bewors8 off. We will be workingwith key partners and stakeholders to support local
residents. Budgeting and supporting ¢llentsto be more resilientwill enab18 US to overcome the challenges.
