TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT
The Trustees present their amiual report together with the financial statements of the charity for the ye&r ended 3 1st
January 2025. The annual report serves the purposes of both a Trustees, Report and a dLTe¢tors report under company
law. The Trustees COLifTh that the annual report dnd f￿an¢[al statements of the charitable conipany comply with tlie
current statutory requirements, the requiren]ents of the charitable coinpany's governing document and the provisions
of the Statetnent of Recotnmended Practice (SORP) applicable to charities preparillg their accounts in accordance with
the Financial Reporting Standard Ipplicable in the UIC and Republic of Treland (FRSI 02) (effective 1st January 20 19).
Since the charity qualÈfies as small under section 3 82 of the Companies Act 2006, the strategic report required of
mediuln and large colnpanies under the Companies Act 2006 (Strategic Ileport and Directors, Report) Regulations
2013 been omitted.
OBIECTEVES AND ACTIVITIES AND PUBLIC BENEFIT
Objectives
The charitable objects of Caring Hair ar¢:_
To promote and protect the physical and inental health of people experiencing ELair loss and or hair or scalp probleLTJS, in
particular, tFLose who have lost their hair through cancer treattnents, by the provision of suppoit education and practical
advice.
To advance the education of the public in all areas related to hair loss and or hair or scalp probl¢ms that lead or are
causing a detriment lo physical and or mental health. In particuLar, but not exclusively, by providing ¢dLication and
tr&ining progratJmes for hair professionaIs and health care worlcers.
In setting objectives and planning for actLVLties, the Trustees have given du¢ consideration to general guidance
published by the Ch8rity coin￿1$810￿ relatillg to public benefiL including the guiddnce 'Public benefit: running a
cha]"ity (PB2)'.

In this section we will provide further infortnatlOLI about our activities, achievements and performance. Our inain sei'vice
is 'Cancer Hair Care,, The charity is by this name to the Charities Commission &nd the General Public.
We would like to st￿t by saying thank you for <￿1 the suppvit we receive from numerous individuals, ￿'0UP5 and
org&nis&tÉons that has resulted in our charity supporting Ihousand5 of peoplc to feel better during hair loss and
c￿l¢er treatment.
Who we are and what we do
We ￿¢ a team of dedicated hail Ioss professionals who are Caring and supportive in everything we do.
We specialise in delivering services to people who exp¢rien¢ing liair loss as a side effe¢l' to cancer treatments.
Our specialists and advisors (most'ly specifically traiiied hairdressers) have in-hospitsl and clinical experience and
are trained io the highest standard in tlie UK.
We are recognised as the UK'S leading authority in our speci&lity* providing consultations, servi¢cs and information
that covei the entire hair loss journey from pre-treatment ￿ inoving on post treattnenl.

Cancer Hatr Care (Caring Hair) is & national charity that provides cancer treatment related hair loss advisory sek'vices, We
provide inforrnation, SLlPPOrt & services to help people man&ge the mental and physical transition of hair loss. Our
specialists and advisors have in-hospital and clinical experience and are trained to the highest standard in tbe UK in t11e
subject of canGeT-related hair loss. Consultations fulfil the entire hair loss journey fron pre-treatment to post treatment.
Our Vision and Service Model
In this fmancÉal ye￿. that we are reporting on, we continue to make headway with our vision - a ￿tUre where all people
hav¢ the eftLOtiOL)al support and practical advic¢ they need should they lose their hair due to cancer treatments. We are
the Ollly UIC ch￿'Ity dedicated to inakllig this happen, and we are coJnn]itted lo working in collaboration with other
organisations who can support people during h&ii' loss. Services are delivered free to patiei)ts at the point of service.
The Cancer Hair Care service is a unique charity concept with our head office based in Ilertfordshire, offering serviccs
throughout the UK.
Our Team
The team is a rnixture of experts iii th¢ir field coupled with people who have experienced h&Èr Ioss and cancer treatment
f￿St-halld. Together, we understand the best way to support people going throu￿ cancer, illness, and hair loss.
Durtng the year, our team has coiitinued to grow acros5 the UK. Each new hairdressor takes part ill extensive traiiiing to
iprove their knowledge while also educating nurses, hairdressei-s, and healthcare professionats. Our specially trained
hairdressers possess a broa(L range of expertise - including in-hospLtal clinical experience - and provide clinical, emotional,
aud practLcal support to thousands of people every year. We offer a level of expertise that goes beyond the Current scope
of nurse or NHS hair loss supporL making Cancer Hair CaTe the only charity service that c￿7 provide the required clinical
expeitise. Within this financial Y￿., we have 5uppoIIEd people in numerous bospitals aLid cancel. sUPPOrt seltings across

We contlllue to lead the way in inclusive services.
For example, we have developed a iietwork of hairdressers supporting people in rural areas such as the Head's Up project
in Wales. We have continued to champion headwear for those requiring modest headwear foi. hair loss for cultural or faith
reasons.
We Iiave also developed'adjusted, services that meet the changing needs of people with neurodiversity, additional
needs or disabililie5. For Ènstance, we provided training to our core team in tkne areas of physical disability, end of
life, and neurodiversity. making adjustments to how we provide services and tnforniation,

In-hospltal Activities
We have delivered a number of servic¢s in hospitals acTOSS the UK and havtng developed a number of pilot piDjects last
year we have rolled out a wider outreach s¢i'vice, such as the Head's Up Wales project (part of the NHS Hywel Dda
University Health Board) in rural Wales. Lasi year we a pilot in one hospital Ind now this year il includes four
hospitals. We are the only hair loss charity with the expertise and trust froin the NHS to d¢liver services directly within
the clinic&1 units of hospitals. This capability is due to our exteLisive iraining of staff and excellent woi'l<ing i'elationship
with tkne NHS, particularly our hygi¢ne control systems and tlie developtnent of service delivory willi safe and effective
inf¢ction control palbways.
Online ActivitAes
We have worked alongside many charities and health org&nisatLons to provide onlille services that iiiclude hair loss
workshops, consultations, alld e-infi)LThation sessions. We oft'en provide our ¢xpertise in a bespoke way so that
individuals with specific cancer types - and therefoL'e specific hall, losslhair care requirements aligned with their
treatment- can best benefit from direct Iiiforn￿tI0n. For example, we held onlino webinars fol large and small charities
such ag 'Macmill&i - Beauty of Support,, 'LA)ok Good F¢el Better Muminies Stae, 'Breast Cancer Now,, and other
organisations.
Child and Teenage Services
We continued to provide in-person services to children and yO￿1g people at locations such as GOSH (Great Omiond
Sli'eet Hospital}. We also piovided consultations (via phonelonline) aDd suppoit paclis containing items appropriate for
different age groups. These packs included Iieadwear, hall. itenis such as wigs and fringes, eyelasbes, stialp Care items,
therapeutic drawing packs, and our unique Ilair Loss Dollles. Tliesc knitted dollies, available in multiple skin coloui's and
hair types. gently help explain hair loss to children, Our volunteer team has continued to knit liuiidreds of dolls that have
been suppli¢d to children across the UK.
We also deliv¢r seivices to teenagers and young adults. We have conliniied our work with UCLH hospit&l (London) and
worlciiig to SUPPOrt Teenagei- Cancer Trust units across the UK.

NHS Nurse Education
We are the only hair loss charity to educate NHS nurses and cancer professionals in this area. Our training includes a
section on diversity and inclusivity, We have continued ¢0 delivei education in NHS hospitals to healthcai'e providers
and cancer support organisations such as Macmillan Cancer Support,

Our founder, Jasmin Julia Gupta, is the UK'S leading authority in cancer-reEated hair loss and hair care, Iler passion and
knowledge around diversity and inclusion means slie regularly offers expert input to other organisation5 and their
publications, including those by NHS England, Macmillan Cancer Support, Breast Cancer Now and others. We have
also been the lead hair108s advisors to the pioject 'The Beauty of Support, by MacEnillan Cancer Support.
The trustees continue to develop all of our services to support people and reduce the trautna of bair loss.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Going. concern
After inaking appropriate enquiries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity lias adequate resources
to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason, they continue to t¢dopt the going concern
basis in preparing the F￿￿1claI stateinents. Further details r¢garding the adoption of the going concern basis can be
found in the accounting policies.
b. Reserves policy
The chai'ity received total incorne of £245,203 (2024., £194,065), it expended £241,773 (2024.. £210.459) and had an
overall surplus of £3.430 (2024.. deficit £16,394),
Reserves stand at £lJ,252 (2024.. £9,822). comprising unrestricted re5erv¢s of £1 1,296 {2024.' £8,748) and i'estricted
reserves of £1,956 (2024: £1,074).
The Trustees have considered tbe level of free reserves that the charity hold5, which currently stands at £6,470. It is their
intention to buiLd these further going forward, with the aim of 6 iDonths operational expens¢8 estimated at £lOO,000.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENI,
Caring FIair was incorpo￿ted ￿ a Colnp￿iY Litnited by Guarantee on 19 January 201 l and r¢gistered with the Charity
Commission on 3 January 2012. The gov¢rniiig document is tho Company's Memorandum and ￿tICleS o'FAssociation.
The liability of the rnembers of the company is limited to £IO each in thg event of the charity being woimd up. There are
currently three JtLembers of the coinpany.
Our Trustees together have the Skills and leadership of a CEO. We save costs by actively sharing a tt-aditional CEO, We
encourag¢ ￿nderS and supporters to see this as a positive way for working and an empowering step for fernales in the
worlcplace.
The Trustees, who are also directors of Caring Hair for the pury)os¢s of Company Law, are appointed by the member8
and are shown on page 3 of these accounts.
The I'iuslees also declare any othei. interests of thetnselves and any olhcr staff. Tliey carry out regular reviews to deal
with any conflicts of interest t￿￿t inay ￿'ISe. We mentioll this bccause inaiiy of our teams are hairdressers or experts
ithin the field of haircare and so they do have other roles and jobs wl)ereby the Iiav¢ infliience. We ali open

(a) BASIS OF PREPARATION OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

Caring Hair meets the definitlDn of a publtc benefLt entity under fRS102, Assets aiid liabilftties are initially
i'ecognised at historical cost or ts'ansaction value unless otherwise stated in the ￿levant accounting policy.
The fLrMnci&l statements ar¢ pr¢setLted itE sterling, which is tkne functional currency of the charity.
The Trustees have taken adv&ntage of the amendment to the Charities SORP FRS 102, where only
larger charities air required to prepare a Statement oFC&sh Flows.
GOING CONCERN
The fmancial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. The Trustees consider this to be
appropriate as althougEL at the balance sheet date the reserves were below £,1 0,000. The Trustees are taking
steps to build up irserves and will collttnue to support the charity until a suitable level of reserves al-e
a¢hieved. The cbarity is a small charity which predorninantly operates on the basis of graiit funding. These
gtants have a Ume and so it is appropriate that fund5 are spent within the agreed project tizneline. This
tngans the charity does llot have the opportunity to build upotL extensive rescrves but spends tnoney in
a timely way in line with the provi8ion of charitsble services.
(b) CHARITY STATUS
The charity is a cotnpany limited by guarnntee. The member5 of the charity are the Trustees, In tlie
event of the charity being wound up, the liability ill respect of the guarant¢¢ is limited to £1 per illenibgr.
(¢) NCOME
All income is recognised once the charity ha5 entitlement to tbe illcomc, it is probable that the income
will be received and the amount of income re¢¢ivable can be m¢asured reliably,
Grants are included in the Statem¢nl of Financial Activities on a receivable basis. The balanG¢ of
income i'eceived for specific purposes but Ilot expended during the period is shown in the relevalit
fund on the balance sheet. Where iLicome is received in advance of entitleinent of receipL its
recognition is defetyed and in¢lud¢d iii creditors as deferred income. Where entitlement occurs
before incora¢ is TeceÈved, the illcome is accrned.
Incoine tax recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is
recognised at the tune of donatioii.
Other iiicome 18 recognised in the period in which it is receivable and to the extent the goods have
beeii piovided or on complet'ion of the service.

(d) EXPENDITURE

Fundraising costs ￿'e those inourred in seeking voluntary contributions and do not include the costs
of disseminating infonnation in support of charitable activities. Governance costs are those
incurred in connection with administratkon of the Fund and complianc¢ with constitutional and
sta￿tOrY requ￿ernents.
Expenditure on charitable activities is tncutted on directly undertalcing die activities which fiLrtiiei' the
charity'8 objectives, as well as &ny associated sUPPOrt costs.
Gi?nts payable are charged in the ye&r wheii the offer is made except in those cases where the offer
is conditional, suth grants being recognised as expeaditure when the conditions attaching are
fiLlfilled. Grants offered subject to conditions which have Dot been met at the year end are noted as a
comrnitment, but not accrued as expenditure.
(e) TANGIBLE FIXED ASSETS AND DEPRECIATION
Tangible fixed assets are initially i.eco￿[sed at cost. After recognition, undei the cost model. tangible

losses. All costs to bring a tangible fixed asset int'o its fftntended working condition should be

donors or which have been iaised by the charity for particular purposes. The costs of raising and
administering such ftinds are charged against the specific fund. The d£m aiid use of each restricted
fund is set out in the notes to the financial statements.

Donated goods are recognised in the accounts as income under donatioiis witFL an equivalent expense

Memorial) and virtually. This is a du&] fund In that our charity Cancer Hair Care also provides funding

Wales Head's Up
This project was held withinfour bospitals of the NFIS Hywel Dda University l-lealth Board. The four
hospitals are: Withybush Hospital, Glaiigwili Hospital, Princc Philip Flospital and BronglL8 Hospital.
