2021 saw an iRcrease in the numbcr of childrcn wptKJrted to 26,758 (2020.. 7,319). The children were supported througb
grants to two charity parn￿r$. SOS Children's Villages {registered clwiry lluEnber 1069204) a￿d Street Child
(registered charity oumber 1128536).
Our support 15 delivered in several fornt4 including 5UPPOrt w individual children, to nurseries, schools and teaching
progrdmmes, and to Child Friendly Spaces with social s￿P[￿jrf and ¢d￿￿ts(Jll for unacconwied and r¢fi]gee ¢hildren,
many of whom hatre experienced kn.gbiy trdurnatic situations.

nursery schools in SOS Childrert's Villag* so all t(yJdlers cau ￿cesS early years education. From Babies with Love also
sponsors individua] children to grow up with an SOS parenL iu loving family homes. Each family home Ims a livit)g
space. a kitche￿ two bathnxjrns, bedr(x)ms with butjkbeds for about ten Children. a alld garden. The children are
loved alld cared for by an SOS parent, a[￿ they become brothers and sisters, forniing a new family unit. The villagt
nursery SCh￿[S each care for around 90 toddlers; commonly there are 3 groups of around 30 children,. (wo [W￿l¢S and
an assistant cate giier for each group. This allows the children to E*gin their early years learning. a fundamentsl
foulldation for ongoiug education.
Breaking out of modern Slavery
One of the most marginalised ¢02nmurrities Rti the world. Neplese Mu5ahar girls are IM)rn in to bon(kd lalK>ur- a forni of
modern slavery - and many suffer gettdet-based violence. M051 are married by the age of 10 and have 2 to 5 babies by
the age of 15. The literacy rate is just 3.80/0 (Ne￿Ie$¢ averdge 77.517/0). Fmm Babies with Love supports 120 ￿rIs and
their babies, in Strttt Child's Breaking the BoDds proje¢( fimding an ac¢elerdted learnillg prO￿￿￿e to achieve basic
literacy and numeracy skn"Il& a5 well as life skills protection circles facfftlitated by ￿)Cial workers. This programme
contrEbutes to SDG5. GenderEquality, SDG4. Education. &swell 2$ S[￿s 1, 2, 3 and 10. Importantly, an educat￿ moth¢r
is more Iskely to send her children to Sch￿1, so thi5 project change5 tbe life chances of l)(Ah the girls and their babie&
doubltng impaot and cr¢ating long t¢Tm ¢hange.
Care and education in conflid

Nigeri4 confli¢t with Boko Hardm has forced over 2 millioll people ro flee their home5. Education ha5 been actÈvely
targeted and over 3 million children are unable to attend %h(y)l. This year Fmm Babies with Love Support￿ ¢hildren in
Borno sEate, contributing to the Last Mile L¢arnitJg project tvn by Srfeet Child. This prtsj￿t is designed with a schedule
that allows children to crtrdie a safe. secure and stable routine that offefs immediat¢ psy¢hological protection and prev¢nts
disengagernenl or dropout. The %hedule includes a s¢rÈes of a¢tivities that align to familiar fovlldational aritbm¢tic and
readin8 apprtsache5 that our teachers use with our children. Interdctive resources are coupled with recorded it]5truction
and delivered through solar audio recoTkn. SMS SUEWrt 15 provided for caregiver4 to supervige alld supplement
learning.

Education for refugee ehildren
This is our thlrd y&qr of suP￿rt to South SUdan￿e refyee children irÉ Uwdnd& Uganda 15 host to the fastesi growing
re￿get crisis in the world. with over 1.4 people. of which over 62Qlo are children (UNHCR 2020). Palabek is one
of the newest refugee seiÈlements in the north of Uganda. home to more than so.0￿ tefugees. There is huge pressure o
the education Syste￿ the avetage Class size 1$ 184 ¢hildr￿￿ In 2018 we were part of 8 COn50rtium led by Streei Child to
build a new primary s¢hLN)I for 1,773 children, as well as providing Child Friendly Spaces for afi¢rs¢hool progrdmmes at
the schools. In 2019 we funded th¢ construction of the school kitchen. thisyearwe ate fimding th¢ bllild of a huge kitchen
garden. The World Bank defines school feeding prOgra[n￿e5 as the social safery nets that provide both educational and
health benefits" a school medl has a direct itllpact on childreD'5' learnang perfornianee and school 8ttelldance. The new
kitchell gard¢n enhances the food security of tbe School. as well as increasing nutrition and diversity of ￿talk The gard¢n
is a self-susiaining project and children will learn agricultural skn"11s. The wden also encour￿¢$ working togetlw with
c]ll"Idrett and ¢ommuniry tnembers from diverse background4 5UPP)rting so¢ial ¢oh¢sion.
Street connected ¢hildreD
In Liberia we support 60 of the most vulnerable strcet-coDlle¢*dchildren, enablingthem accesstoa safe home 8nd quality
education. Liberia is one of tbe ty)orest Countries in the worl<L ranked at 181 oui of189 oll the Human D¢vtlopment Index
(UNDP 2018). Without inteEvenÈ1o￿ Liberia is one of tbe ten countrits that will Thot achieve ullivetsal primary edueation
unt21 at leas¢ 2100 {UNICEF 2018). currently 2(Wh of chiEdren are out of 5¢hool. Ow supp)n covers school fees and
supplies. as well as psy¢bo-so¢ial supw)rt seryices provided by trnined. Itxal stscial workets. For children that have bEen
out of school for over a year, we provide catch up cla￿5 in llvmera¢y and literacy. To ensure that care-gii'ers can keep
the children in s¢hool, our support also proYide5 busille5S 5kn"11s rrainÉng and srart-up grants so that they can gellernte
sncome and pr¢Yent the children havillg to work. Led by Street Child the project also establishes Clu"Id Welfare
Committees wiibin communities. to identify and respond to chtld abuse withÉn their ¢ommvnities, with a particular focus
on gender-based violence. to monitor childrell's wellbeing and scbool attend￿.
Prev¢nlillg exclusiDtt from edutation
In the Democratic Republic of Cottgo IDRC), where education has decEn￿ted by ye4rs of Lonflict, school ss not all
option for thousands of Children. In South KIV￿ girls frorn the Batwa ethukc group and cbildrtn with disabilities Suffer
the tno8t from educational exclusion. Exceptionally rural. the bÈgh plateau in Soutb Kivu is one of the most itnpoverish
parts of eastern Congo. Without help. the E￿r¢s( tU05t vulnernble children risk being stuck in a never<uding cycle of
illiteracy and p)verty. A total lack of services rntalls thai children even with minor mobility or visual I￿pa]￿lents are
extluded from school. 0￿r support to Street Cbild's work iti DRC focusscs on children with rnild-mtrjerate disabiliiies
that C8n be addressed with assistive device5 (gla55e& bearing aids, ¢rntches), non4omplex CO￿¢t1ve surgeries and

plus a nominal value to ¢overallti¢ipated exF*nditute from VI￿eStrICted funds forthe followillgyear. Unrestricted reserves
at the end of 2021 fell within the ter￿5 of the ￿liCY. The From Babies with Love Foundation re¢oglli5e5 that IÉ may be
appropriate to a]low the reserve Èo flu¢tuare as a result of short temi ¢ash infiows and outtlows.
Risk Review
The TEUStees bave conthicted their own revlew of the major risks to which the chariry is exposal and systems have b¢¢n
established to matiage those risks. Internal risks are minimtsed by the implemeDtsiion of pn)cedures for authorisation of
all tranwtions and prOj￿ts and to ensure consistent qu￿lty of delivery for all operdtional aspects of the charitable
compally. These procedures are periodically reviewed to Cr￿u[C that they still meet the ne£&8 of tbe clwity.
