Radnor Charitable Trust Trustee Annual Report September 1st 2023 to August 31st 2024
This year we have had our regular income from parent donations and the school car park fees. In addition to this regular income we sold some shares that previous Trustees invested in the Alliance Trust, 2000 shares purchased in March 2014 and a further 2007 in February 2015, the combined value at issue was £19,975. After charges the value of the investment was £43,222.
The pupils receiving bursaries are a pupil in Y11 who has been supported with a 50% bursary since he was in Y7, continuation of a 25% bursary for a pupil in Y11 . We also awarded a hardship bursary of 20% for an existing pupil as she entered Sixth Form. Midway through the year one of our pupils mother, who had been treated for cancer was told she was close to end of life, the school and RCT agreed to split the fees for his remaining two terms at the school.
The school continues to be in a transition period, with the owners hoping to secure planning permission to move to a larger site. With this uncertainty the Trustees have agreed to continue with the current fundraising, ie the parent donations via invoice and the charges for car parking spaces. Once the move has been confirmed they will meet with Dukes Education to establish their plans for a larger bursary fund.
