INTRODUCTION Friends of Phoenix Special School (FOPSS) was off icially formed in 2010, when an official Constitution was adopted. The objects of the charity were agreed To advance the education of the pupils at The Phoenix School, Keighley, by providing and assisting in the provision of education, recreational and other charitable facilitieslactivities not required to be provided by the local education authority at the school. To support children with special needs and their familieslcarers by the provision of education and play facilities, activities, outings, and events including care, support, and information but not exclusively by the provision of holiday Stay and Play sessions. The Committee consist of stakeholders including staff, parentslcarers, and volunteers from the school. CHAIR - Jason Patefield TREASURER- Corrina Ewbank SECRETARY- Sue McHale TRUSTEE - Sarah Lloyd, Elaine Savage FOPSS is registered with the Charities Commission and is officially recognised as a registered charity - reg No 1144971 FINANCIAL SUMMARY The total income to 30th September 2022 was £67,015.17 the major source of funding was from grants from the local and central government grants and fundraising. Proceeds from events £4135.20 Grants £62,879.97 The total expenditure for the 12-month period was £69,985.43 the charity provided food hampers for families and opened its doors once again to provide holiday play for all children and their families ensuring that children on free school meals had free admission and a hot meal for every day that we were open. We have resumed our normal programme of events, without any closures due to covid. We restarted our session from February half term and

opened every school holiday providing three sessions per week and then twelve sessions in the summer holiday. We have a carried forward balance of £48,883.73. HIGHLIGHTS & ACTIVITY Charitable Objectives achieved Friends of Phoenix hold regular meetings where parentlcarers and staff are encouraged to have a more involvement to continue the fundraising efforts of the group. We have managed to restart our fund-raising efforts, so far, we have managed to run a Christmas and Summer Fair, Mother's Day Afternoon Tea, and discos. Parents still actively support each other via the support network via social media., where parents can all talk interact with one another. We have also restarted inviting parents back into school for coffee mornings and informal meetings. Grants were secured to enable us to provide food boxes over the school holidays to ensure children who were on free school meals were able to have access to free food. This enables families to come together to interact and feel supported. SUMMARY Unlike last year, things have started to return to normal and we have managed to provide our support face to face. Our funds are healthy, and we have managed to survive the loss of income over the covid years. Re ort of the Trustees for the ear endin 30th Se tember 2022 Friends of Phoenix Special School (Fops) was founded in 2010. The charity is run by parentsl staff and volunteers. The charity relies on fundraising, donations, and grants to provide the support for the children, school, and families. The charity holds regular meetings where trustees are invited to attend. The charity follows all safeguarding, and health and safety procedures and one of the committee members is a named person for child protection. We have had a better year, since coming out of covid and things are now returning to normal, we look forward in supporting the children and families. We have obtained a grant to help families over the cost-of-living crisis and will be helping over forty-two families with food boxes.
