REPORT OF THE PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNaL
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2020
The PCC has pleasure in submttting the Report and Accounts forthe year ended 31 December 2020.
Objects of the tharity
The charity is responsible for co-operating with the incumbenL in promoting in the ecdesiastical parish.

The PCC (with the incumbent) seeks to fvrther rts charitable purposes in carrying out for the public benefit
the following activities: holding regular public worship open to all; pastoral work, including visiting the sick
and the bereaved- the teaching of Chr5Stianity thro￿ sermon5. courses and small groups: the tsking of
religious assemblies in schools: the provtsion of youth dubs a Christian ethos; the promotlon of
Christianity through the staging of events and meetings and the distribution of Itterature* promoting the
whole mission of the Church through provision of activities for senior citizens* parents and toddlers and
other special need groupsi and supporting other charitres in the UK and overseas.
Summary of the charity's main artbVit￿and athie¥ements
To further the above objerts and vision, the charity's main actsvitses and athievements were as follows:
- Appointed a Vulnerable Adult's thampion to ensure safeguarding of vulnerable adults. and completed a
safeguarding audit
- Completed a quinquennial inspection to ènsure matntenance of the Churth's historic srte
- COWD-proofed the Church's Sunday and Midweek offeri￿ with the trusteÈ5. Staff team and volunteers
learning ertirely new ski115 to make gatherings rnterartTve ratherthan a"broadcas
- Implemented so¢ialty41istanced moming service once irN)erson Servi￿ were again allowed.
Most the Charity's activites are undertaken by volunteer5 and the charity could not operate effectively
without their efforts.
In ptanning the activitres the PCC has applied the guidance on public benefft i￿￿ed by the Charity
Commission.
Financial review
During the year income decreased by £81.708 to £159.202. and expenditUTe decreased by £18.278 to
£211.473. A5 a result the osh held by the chartty de¢reased by £52.271 to £157.722, of which £138.c88 15
unrestri¢ted and can be used for any tharwtable purpose. The income rep(vted in 2019 induded a large
leRacy 0f£SO.L￿).
Reserves poliLy

Where there are short-term surpluses, the PCC'S Investrhent policy Is to maximise retums using low rlsk
products from major banks or prescrlbed Churth of England investment sthemes. Our reserves pollcy Is to
alm to keep at least six monts worth of annual thurch running c¢sts {currently in the region of £75.0001 In
liquid essets: should this minimum at any time not be met an immediate plan would be enacted to reduce
Costs or raise additional Income. At the year end. the charity held unrestricted cash of £138.098.
Govemance
The charity is registered with the Charity Q>mmlssion and operates under the Charities Art 2011. The
governing documents for the tharity are the Parochial Church Counals (Powers) Measure 1956 las
amended) and the Churth Representation Rules 2011.
The appointment of pcc members is governed by. and set out in. the Church Representation Rule& The
PCC comprises ex-officio members (which indudes clergy and thurchwardens). elected members and co-
opted members. The PCC organ￿5 elections annually before the Annual Parochial Church Meeting
IAPCM) to fill vacancie& The members of the PCC are the tharit￿5 trustees for the purposes ofcharity law.
Responsibllity for setting policy and for deterniining the parameters within vthich the charity should
operate rests with the PCC which meets regularly to monitor the actiwties of the tharity. Re5ponslbility for
the day to day operation ofthe charity has been delegatsd to a rnanagement team led by the incumbent.
The PCC has appointed a number of sU￿)mmIttee5.
Standing Comrnittee: This is the only committee required by law. ￿ has power to tran5aCt the
business of the PCC between its meetings. subjert to any dire¢ticrts given by the PCC
Flnance Committee: PCC has delegated to this committee the tasks ofr. finanaal plannln& effective
monitoring of income and expenses and implementation of robust money-handling controls; maximising
income within Biblical prinaples: and ensuring that resources are used costveffectively.
Premlses Committee: PCC has delegated to this cimnmittee the tasks ofr. supporting the PCC in its
planning for ongoing and future premises work: managing ongoing premises work: and related funrtions
relatingto the care ofour churth buildings and the safety of those use them.
Misslon Committee: PCC ha5 delegated to this committee the tasks ofr. motivating the chU￿h family
and helping them to learn about the health ofthe Churth both at horne and abroad: prompting a response
from the church family by providing opportunities to pray and t¢ provide pra¢ti¢al support to further the
proclamation ofthe gospel and the growth of the Church worldwde.

With regard to the Pcfs obllgations to safeguard children and vulnerable adults. the members of the PCC
confirm that they havè complied with their duties under section 5 of thÈ Safeguarding and aergy D15cipllne
Measure 2016.
The last qulnquennial inspection was held in July 2020. Having reviewed its findings, the members of the
PCC have detemiined that some Smmediate work ￿ required in relatlon to water penetration at high and
low level: this is expected to cost £5.(￿.(￿￿j and the members of the PCC anttcipate that the works will
be comDleted bv Julv 2021
Responsibilftles of tTUStee5
Charity law requires the PCC to prepare financial statements for each accounting Year which record the
receipts and payments of the charityfor the year.
The PCC is responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disdose with reasonable accuracy at
any time the financial y￿sI￿On of the charity and enable us to en$￿￿ that the finanaal statements comply
with the Charitie5 Act 2011.
We also have a responsibility to safeguard the assets of the charity and to tske reasonable steps to prevent
fraud or any other irregularities.

I report in respert of my examination of the charivs accounts carried out under section 145 of the Art
and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 1451511bl of the 2011 ACL

I have completed my examination. I confimi that no rnaterial matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that In any material respect:
