SUPPORTING CHILDREN WITH DIABETES

TRUSTEES’ REPORT

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

Income for the year totalled £69,770 (2024 - £67,517).

Expenditure for the year totalled £82,549 (2024 - £32,932).

TRUSTEE SELECTION

Trustees are appointed by the existing trustees according to the terms of the Trust Deed.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

The charity receives donations of money and goods (mobile phones). During the year the charity raised enough funds to award grants totalling £81,797 (2024 - £32,535) to beneficiaries, in the form of goods bought separately or mobile phones from the stock of donated goods.

Potential recipients submit an application to the hardship fund for the purchase of an item to help them in their day to day life. The application must be backed up by a nurse or doctor to confirm eligibility. Trustees then decide whether to donate a non-purchased item from the stock of donated goods received or to purchase a specific item from funds in the bank.

RISKS

The Trustees have considered the major risks to which the charity is exposed and have reviewed systems and procedures to mitigate those risks, including financial controls over banking and grant approvals.

RESERVES

The Trustees aim to maintain reserves sufficient to cover approximately 6 months of charitable expenditure. At the year end unrestricted reserves amounted to £26,940, which the Trustees consider adequate to meet current obligations and planned activities.
