OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY The object of the Trust is to relieve the needs of young people in the UK who suffer from type 1 diabetes, their families and carers in particular, but not exclusively by the provision of grants, goods and equipment. CONSTITUTION The Trust was created by deed on the 24 October 2011 and is an unlncorporated charity (Registered Charity No 1144626). REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES The result for the period 15 shown on page 4 and the position at tho end of the year Is shown on page 6. TRUSTEE SELECTION Trustees are appointed by the existing trustees according to the terms of the Trust Deed. MAIN AL TIVITIEb AND ALHIEVEMENTS The charlty raises money by organislng events for which tickets ara sold to the general public. During the year the charity raised enough funds to award grants totalling £23,027 (2020 - £19,953) to baneficiaries. Potential recipients $uOmlt an application to the hardship tund for the purchase ot an item to help them In their day lo day Ilfe. The application must be backed up by a nurse or doctor to confirm eliglbllity. Trustees then decide whether to donate the item and if so the Item is wrchased by a trustee who Is then relmbursed by the charity. RISKS The Trustees are fully aware of the need lo assess the risks faced by the twst and to respond in such a way as to minimise those risks. In order to minimise risk there is constant consideration of all flnancl81 issues by the Trustees together with the charity's financial advisors. INCOME Ticket sales and donations are accounted for on a recelpts basis. EXPENDITURE Expendlture Is accounted for on a payments basis. TAXATION The charity18 exempt from tax on it8 charitable activities. FUND ACCOUNTING Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. Restrided funds can only be used for particular purposes within th8 objects of the charity. Restrtctions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.
