Holy Angels Pre-School Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31 August 2025
Summary of the main achievements of the charity for 2024 — 2025
As part of our responsibility and commitment to safeguarding the children in our care, we recognise the importance of staff training. All staff have completed the level 3 Safeguarding training offered by Torbay Safeguarding Children Partnership (TSCP). The pre-school Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), continued to work closely with Torbay Safeguarding Children Partnership ensuring disclosures were actioned within the statutory timeframe, attending meetings and submitting reports when necessary.
September 2024 — August 2025 we had a total of 55 children registered to attend over the year. Of these, two required full one to one support with one child receiving an Education, Health Care Plan in April 2025. Three further children required additional SEN support.
39 pupils from Our Lady of the Angels Primary School accessed our wraparound care, either breakfast club or after school club.
In July 2025, Twenty pre-school children moved from Pre-school into a Reception Class, with one child gaining a place at a Special Needs School in the area. We enjoyed a lovely and successful leaver trip to Paignton Zoo on the last day of term.
The pre-school employed 9 permanent Early Years Staff, 7 of whom are qualified to level 3, one member of staff has gained a Level 2 and is hoping to start her Level 3 qualifications this year. The After Schoo] Club member of staff also has a Level 3 Early Years qualification. We employed a caretaker for the duration of the year.
All the staff are dedicated to upholding our mission.
Our food larder continues to be well accessed by our local community.
In November 2024 we were again approached by a former parent who asked if he could fundraise for us part of his Diwali Celebrations. His generosity enabled us to provide 50 Christmas Hampers for families in need.
In December 2024, we held Stay and Play sessions. Parents, Grandparents and Carers were invited into the setting to join us making Christmas Crafts and to listen to the children singing their Christmas Carols and songs, as well as enjoying mince pies and clotted cream.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charity Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that no independent examination is needed.

An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a "true and fair view" and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
