**Objects:** TO BENEFIT THE PUBLIC BY PRESERVING THE HISTORIC BUILT ENVIRONMENT OF PETWORTH, WEST SUSSEX AND ADVANCING THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC BY ASSISTING THOSE WITH LEGAL RESPONSBILITY FOR THE GRADE II LISTED CHURCH BUILDING OF ST MARY THE VIRGIN PETWORTH (HEREINAFTER CALLED "ST MARY'S CHURCH") TO MAINTAIN IT IN A CONDITION WHERE IT CAN REMAIN OPEN NOT ONLY FOR PUBLIC WORSHIP BUT FOR THE PROMOTION OF MUSIC, THE ARTS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES BENEFICIAL TO THE COMMUNITY AND TO IMPROVE OR EQUIP IT ACCORDINGLY.

**Activities:** the Friends of St Mary's Petworth was established to help maintain the historic church  as the community centre for music and the arts and other non-spiritual activities such as the Petworth Festival and Petworth Literary Festival. During 2013 we carried out a major project to update and improve the sound system. During 2015 we carried out a major project to improve the Nave lighting.
