committees, infomialion is discussed fully and has ensured Ihat all are happy YAth the outcomes.
The organisation is very muth 'gir14ed' aThJ young VaDmen are erKouraged to speak out and lead th8 way. The
numbers of youroer %￿lMen re wshing lo join Gir1guiding as leayers is on the increase. This has had a
very po￿tiVe impact on both Gidguiding UK aThJ Gidguidry Suffolk. A younger irna￿ and outtook have led lo
far more enccyjraging ￿lCoMe to new members.
A flexible approach to Guiding is ￿ng erKourW again can only be gcod new5 for busy, hardw)rking
women who wsh to become leaders. Rde sharing is erwJra9ed so that the sthload is spread out and, this

Guiding in Suffolk adapted quickly (Juring 2020. usiNJ a blended approach to continue to provide activitie&
This included rainbowts. brovmies, guides. and rar¥3w units meeting virtually usng online meeting plafforms,
providing activity pa¢*s to the girls lo do at hcKne. Tr&￿etters. challenge badges and utiliyng the national
guiding 'Adventure at HL¥ne' activities. When permitted under the covid restrictions unlts mel outside during
the late Summer, early Autumn months. Our guiding propth.es made cov￿* secure. in readiness for
indLKJr meetings. Many units contirkued gliding during lockdo￿ using the blended approach, wth parents
cclnmenting how much the girt5 loc*ed foThrdrd to the ath"vities, for mary fr(xn the youngest to the eldest gids
this vrds their highlight of th& being able to have fun during kxkdovm.
The new guiding pwramme launched in 2018 is rw)w emb&Jded wihin our units. continue to encourage,
support Leaders now their confidence has increased with the prroramme to share their gxpertise with others.

un¢Jortaken virtually and usiro e-leamirvJ. These adaptions to training *ill contsr#J8 in the futu￿.
GO (Guiding Organiserl, membership system. has been developwj further following I8￿back from leaders lo
record girts. progress on the prr*Jramme throug￿lut their Guiding joumey.
Our large scale planned events of the Suffolk Brownie Holiday for 2020 and Event 21{c8mpi in 2021 have been
rescheduled tr) 2022 and 2023 respeth'vety. Large events organised by Girf Guiding UK V￿re also
postwned.
Whilst in the vK)rtd in 2020 it felt uncertain. lookir•J forward to 2021 and beyorK4 we believe that guiding is in a
strong position to continue to connect communities and deliver real changes lo the lives of OUT members. The
need for offering guiding through a number of routes 9Jch as fa￿ to face. virtually elc wll continue lo enable
us to be flexible during Covid atNJ teycmd. a rural Lxjunty kn transm is an issue the flexible approach
ill be benefiual.

the highest levels of govemrnent and media. This in tum has er￿u[ag￿l younger m8mbers al a local level to
realise that they do matter with ￿me sigring up to be 'Peer Educators. to visl other girls and inspire them lo
'be their best,.

The trustees of Gidguldlng Suffolk accept the need to have regard to the Charity Gommi&8ion's guidance on

The major risks, to which Girfguidin9 Suffolk is exposed. as Id￿tilled on behalf of afKI in conSU￿ation with the
Trustees, have been revievRd and systems have been established to mitigate those risks. Major risks which
have been identified as threats to the chartty are., loss of members. f8ilure to attract and retsin adutt leaders of
the required calibre, failure to cOm￿Y ￿ legislation and regulaiions and failure to raise the required funding to
sustain th& organis8tion. ()wnerthip of each of these risks has begn identified and the appropriate steps taken
to mitigate them such as investment in public relations and a(fvertigng lo encourage a continuous flow of
members and adult leadefs, makirKJ gjre relevant legal adviee is availatA8 vthen required and ensuring realistic

ng. There is no otAig8tion for leaders lo continu8 Guiding virtualty unless they feel ￿Mfortable. Much of the
Financial outgoings of GirtguFding Suffolk relate to the ddivery of activities for girts and therefore al present
these are minirnal. Fixed costs are being mel by the current ￿b￿riptiOnS that were collected in February 2020
arKI these have been ￿Vie￿d by the Chair of Fiwce lo en￿J￿ they can be met. The Finance Committee
discussed 2021 years ￿b￿lPtiOnS and the legitimate use of reserves at this time should it be required.

generate sufficient funds to urKlertake this wrrk.
The princapal sources of incLYne are,. sutsx"ptions. d￿at.0￿S. legacies. fundr8i&ng and payments made by
members participaling in evgnts organised by the Asswatson as part of its prtyJramme of activities. For 2020,
the national element of the subscription increased by 50p and the Region element by 25p, there was no change
to the County element. Each DNision andlor Distr"tct wms free lo add a levy. or nol, al its own discretion.
During 2020 as a regjlt of the finanoal impact of Covid. Girlguiding UK and Anglia Region have encouraged
cwnlies to use their reserves during 2021. FollowNJ this guidance. the c(xJnty finance committee agreed that
they should sel the county element of the annual subxription as lthv as P￿ble to a&sist units and Members
during this difficult lime. Some planned expenditure due to be spent during 2020 was not incurred as a
c(￿SeqUenC8 of 8vènts not ￿ng permitted to tske plxe. In addition. the ￿Unty has been avrdrded a £15,CKJO
Grant from Uoyds of L(￿dOn to be paid over 2 years and the govemment (x)vid grant was received lo for the
Stoke Ash Guide Centre whilst il is dosed as wuired by Covid restricliorts. The Finance committeg agreed
that the County dement of the annual subscription will be reduced from £7.75 to £2.30 per member for 2021
only.

The Trustees have conydwed the chanws pogtion at the time of signing Ihe financlal statements, and in

The County's property. Stoke Ash Centre h￿1 been operdtsLThl as a regdential centre. meeting place and
ampsle for since 2015 to early 2020 vthen temp(xary closurg was wuired under the Covid restricliorts.
During temporary dosure. all com￿lance checks ￿lating to areas such as heatth. safety (fire. electrical} and
Statutory requirements ￿￿tinued. Once the covid restrictions allow, the centre wll reopen. The Management
Committee set up in 2015 has ￿ntinu￿j to manage and develop the centre and its finances in accordance wlh
an agreed Constitution. A number of d(M)ations armj fundraiskng through even15 a￿1 grant applications
coordinated by the Management Committee have enabled us lo make excellent pro3re&s on the development
Df the ￿ntre.

every situation. Our Marketing 8 Communications Team continue to deveK)p Ideas for the future. W8

Girfguiding Suffolk has budgeted over the past years arKI ends with a heaEthy balance. We have sufficient
funds to ansure that VK can conb'nue i)ur *Drk offering (w￿￿nIbe8 ar¥J eXperier￿s for git1s and young
men.

by them. The County offers sUp￿rt to the ten Divisions their commiss0￿r$. In accordance ￿th 8y-Law
9.2c of Ihe Royal Charter of the Guide Asxo"alion. all major decisiorts regarding the County are made by The
Executive Committee vthich determines the direction of the general prinaples, aims, W￿lcy. organisalion and

registers leaers in training aThJ dea& with joining eTh]uiries. She overseas bLx)kings for our various events and
keeps us UEKJated on the wLxJre&s of Ihese. The arrangement for seth.ng her pay is discl￿ed al our Finance
Committee Meetings arKI agreed at our County Execxrtive meelings.

We have r8ceNed the Govemmenl Covid-19 small business grant wh￿h wll cover the majority of fixed costs
