Income and endowments
All incomels recognised once the charlty has entitlement to the income, it is probable that the Income wlll be
recelved and the amount of the Income recelvable can be measured rellably.
Donotlons and legocles
Donatlons are recognised when the charlty has been notified Sn wrlting of both the amount and settlement
date. In the event that a donation is subject to conditions that require a level of performance by the charity
before the charlty Is entitled to the funds, the Income Is deferred and not recognised until either those
conditions are fully met, or the fuifilment of those conditions is wholly within the control of the charlty and It Is
probable that these condltions will be fulfilled in the reporting perlod.
Grants recelvoble
Grants are recognlsed when the charlty has an entltlement to the funds and any conditions linked to the grants
have been met. Where performance conditions are attached to the grant and are yet to be met, the Income Is
recognlsed as a Ilabllity and included on the balance sheet as deferred Income to be released.
Deferred Income

settlement Is requlred and the amount can be measured reliably. All costs are allocated to the applicable
expenditure heading that aggregate similar costs to that category. Where costs cannot be directly attrlbuted to
partlcular headings they have been allocated on a basis consistent wlth the use of resources, wlth central staff
costs allocated on the basls of time spent, and depreciation charges allocated on the portion of the asset's use.
Other support costs are allocated based on the spread of staff costs.
Charltable actlvltles
Charltable expendlture comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its actlvlties and
services for It5 benefitlaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and those

course of buslness.
Trade debtors are recognlsed Inltlally at the transaction prlce. They are subsequently measured at amortlsed

Recognltlon and measurement
All financial assets and Ilabllities are initially measured at transaction price lincludlng transactlon costs), except
for those financial assets classified as at falr value through profit or loss, whlch are initially measured at falr
value Iwhich is normally the transaction price excludlng transaction costs), unless the arrangement constitutes
a flnanting transaction. If an arrangement constitutes a financlng transaction, the financial asset or financial
liability is measured at the present value of the future payments discounted at a market rate of interest for a
simllar debt instrument.
Flnanclal asset5 and Ilabillties are only offset In the statement of flnanclal posltion when, and only when there
exists a legally enforceable rlght to set off the recognised amounts and the charity intends elther to settle on a
net basls, or to realise the asset and settle the Ilablllty slmultaneouslv.
Flnanclal assets are derecognised when and only when al the contractual rl8hts to the cash flows from the
financial asset expire or are settled, b} the charity transfers to another party substantlally all of the risks and
rewards of ownership of the financlal asset, or cl the charityi desplte havlng retained Some, but not all,
significant risks and rewards of ownership, has transferred control of the asset to another party.
Flnanci31 liabllities are derecognlsed only when the obligation speclfled In the contract is discharged, cancelled
