Summary of the main achievements of the charity durlng the year The Amy Elgar Trust continues to give Ihe local children an excellent pnmary education whilst feeding the children trice per day. The d+ning halVmulti- purpose hall has been equipped not onty wrth dining lables and chairs but also with easels for art. All the plates arKI cutlery had to be repla(d In line wth new govemment fequirernents. Kenyan govemrnent educabon poly for pnmary schools thanged and then changed again. At one point the govemment Sa￿ that all pupils aged 11 to 14 years old would go to secondary school. At Enaikishomi we therefore had an extra dawoom which became the teachers, administrative bl¢xk. However. as secoThary schools coukl not cope wrth this extra influx. policy changed back to pnmary schools providing educatson for all years up to the age of 14115 years. wrth the latter two years having a different uniform to signfy their senionty The curnculum for these latter two years has also been upgraded and rt may be ne(xsary to provide equipment for science subjects. Whal is necessary, will be decided after a Trustees, visit in October 2025. Therefore the pievious dassroom had to become a classroom once again. As the adapted previous krtchen was too small for all stsff. rt was agreed that this building would be extended to provide an extensive office for all staff. Building therefore began in late 2024 and contsnued into 2025. The number of govemment teaching staff was also expected to increase because of the atK)ve changes. As there is accomm(xlatson in the area. rt was agreed to build two fUrt￿r staff accomrnodation unts wrthin the school compourKI, commencing in late 20241early 2025. In addth'on. research into acquiring solar panel stoves to replace the wood buming *oves currently in srtu. is orvj￿rrfj. It was noled that rt is more and more drfficult for the chiklren to brirKJ in a sts'ck to bum in tt)e stoves due to the lack of trees in the area. TAR 2012

Due to the precanous nature of the Kenyan govemment's education policy, funds have been held in the Trust's accounts to pay for the extension of the administralive block and the extra two staff units and any other edU&￿'onal requirements as polic￿$ become law. There may be a requirement to provide a Scien￿ lab.
