## **Happy Days Treasurers Report 2020**

Happy Days made a loss this year of £2269.

The Pandemic hit our sector hard and we were forced to close from mid March until September.

We have been very fortunate that our landlords (Berkhamsted Town Council) waivered our rent for the time we were closed, and also gave a very generous discount from September 2020-April 2021. We are very grateful for their understanding and patience while we get back on our feet.

In addition, we were able to claim furlough for some of our staff and the government funding for children was paid over the time we were closed.

Numbers for September were lower than usual. Some parents decided to keep their children at home for the Autumn term, and we had a few not take up their places due to safety reasons, and also job change reasons.

We have claimed the ARG grant for £1350 which will be paid to us in January 2021.

Staff have been incredibly flexible with their time and shifts to help with the changes and our financial situation.

Overall, we are in a stable position, numbers gradually increasing as time goes on and have a healthy waiting list for September.

## AGM

## 19 JANUARY 2021

## Welcome to everyone present and thank you for coming.

Covid has obviously had an impact on Pre schools this last year After a very busy January to March 2020 Happy Days had to close its doors and furlough staff until reopening September 2020. We sadly didn’t have the opportunity to say goodbye to 20 children as they move on to the next stage of their education.

We also said goodbye to Maisie in September as she began her maternity leave.

Our new intake in September was very slow which lead to some staff reducing their hours to keep costs down

On a positive note Happy Days were lucky to fund raise with Santas Sleigh which is one of our highlights and allows us to purchase extra resources.

Numbers for the rest of this year are raising and we have a healthy waiting list for September

Staffing has not changed and we are very happy that Maisie is back with us one day a week.

The committee would like to say a very big thank you to all staff and parents for being so supportive and flexible during this Pandemic and look forward to building on the excellent provision Happy Days provides to the local community.
