Our cnmmuniry work. from thriving post COVID 19 and being extremely cffectiv¢. came to a very sudden pause duc i(? the COVID 19 Lockdown. Our Sunday church 5ervlce% camc to a halt, however, we adapred by conducting our meetings vla live strLiaming and Zoom. Overall. we were able to communicate well with our congrogation using thcse web platforms, however our interaction with the local people wa5 severely hampered. WL. thereforL' worked hard to 5Uy connected with those Irom our community groups and kept in Inuch rLgulJrly. via sociil mt.dia, SMS and phone calls. WL. focussLd our rc50urcL¥S aidinE the vulncrnble and elderly. ￿￿VIng practical help in a COVID safe mann¢r as neL.ded. Wc felt this was particularly important for %cniors who had attended our seniors lunch club. but also applaed to familiL'5 and other individuals in order to maintain relationship and proie¢r their mental wellbcing. Althou%h our financial income durlng thls time inevitably decTrased. our outgoinES were also reduced. Having said the aboye. we do look forward to better and greatcr days ahead. The effe¢Lg of the Cuvid pandcmic have been far rcaching in so many lives and in this context. we believL¥ that the work of Hori£on Church in hclpinE people and beinR a ble5slng ro our community will be valuable and signilicant for the immediatc and lung-ierm future.
