The provision of assistance to businesses and individuals (through charities and agencies) in Barnard Castle and Teesdale to maintain the economic viability of the town and Dale. Also to assist with Art projects in Teesdale.

Objects: A. The Promotion And Advancement Of The Arts Within The District By I.sponsoring Whether Solely Or In Conjunction With Others Artistic Activities Whether By Exhibitions, Concerts, Performances Of Dramatic Works Or Otherwise Ii. Assisting In Such Manner As The Committee Shall Think Appropriate With The Education Of Any Pupil Who Lives Or Attends A School Within The District In Improving His Or Her Abilities In Artistic Activities. B. The Promotion Of Industry And Commerce Within The District For The Public Benefit Including But Not Restricted To The Following:- I. The Provision Of Industrial Or Commercial Training Courses For Persons Who Are Or Intend To Be Employed Within The District Whether The Courses Are Provided By The Trust Fund Solely Or In Conjunction With Others. Ii. Providing Financial, Business Or Technical Assistance Or Advice To New Businesses Or Existing Businesses Where Such Assistance Or Advice Would Lead To Training Or Employment Of Those Who Are Unemployed. Iii) Assisting In Regeneration Of Such Parts Of The District As The Committee Consider In Need Of Regeneration By The Provision Of Training Or Employment Opportunities.
