Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary of the maln
achlevements of the charlty
durlng the year
We haven't secured funding thls year mainly due to limited resources but
have still been able to offer scholarships of one class per student to local
Ouiig people by reinvesting class fee's. Vlitli Out this funding ieiecLed
children would not have been able to access and attend classes at DPA
Performing Arts Academy.
We have built back up to a full timetable offering over 80 classes a week.
We have continued to hire out our empty studio space during the daytime
and Saturday mornings.
We have seen income increase this year and we are continuing to build
funds in reserve by cutting costs and the BTEC is thriving once again due
to our continued partnership with East Coast College. We now have 18
FULL TIME Students. The D16 Performing Arts College course keeps the
studio running throughout the day and also gives our freelance tutors
almost full time hours.
The studio continues to run with all freelance staff which ensures we can
continue to offer a full programme of classes and a variety of teachers
throughout term time without the pressures of salaried staff in the closed
periods.
We are Ofsted registered and had a wonderful Summer offering
workshops with the HAF programme - we delivered workshops based on
musicals and movies to keep children busy whilst parents are at work or
to give them some time away from home and this ensures we are
bringing income into the studio 12 months of the year. Again enabling us
to reinvest into scholarships.
We have started to recruit more pre-school students by running classes
during the daytime giving our teaching staff extra hours and making use
n! oi Ir opaco
We produced 4 performances with a total profit of £8,400 which was then
put towards scholarships.
