The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note I to the financial statements and comply with the charity's governing document. the Charities Act 2011 and "Accounting and Reporting by Charities= Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their account in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 {effeciive l January 20191" Structure, Governance and Management SV2G is governed by a board of 4 trustees equipped with a wide range of skills to strategically oversee the management of the charity. The charity has no employees and operates With 26 volunteers and freelance sessional staff which are engaged upon when required to deliver the charitvs activities. Objertives: To advance Caribbean art. culture and heritage for the public benefit: To advance education in Caribbean art. culture and heritage forthe public benefit; To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life," The relief of old people forthe benefrt of the public: The relief of financial need and suffering amongvictimsof natural disasterand those in poverty. SV2G has developed its reputation around several flagship programmes; 'School of Steelpan,, 'Wycombe Steel Orchestra, plus its African Caribbean History projects. These programmes. along with other creative community projects has allowed SV2G to engage positively with young people, increasing their confidence. skills and aspirations. 5V2G not only nurtures the next 8eneration, but also engages With adults, families and the wider communrty. In addition to this, environmental Sustainability has been at the forefront of SV2G's attivity with all musical instruments being made from recycled used oil drums. School of Steelpan (SOS) The School of Steelpan provides steelpan music lessons. workshops and taster sessions for anyone from 7 years old to adult. Opportunities are available to young people to join our performance band. We serve the diverse and wide communities of Buckinghamshire with many collaborating ensembles working from beginners to advanced in the activities listed below: Workshops, taster sessions and tuition in schools. After school clubs and holiday clubs. One-to-one group and private tuition for beginners. intem)ediate players and adults. Accreditation including steelpan graded examinations - N.B. SV2G hu5 been instrumental in introducing accreditotionfor steelpon education in the UK.

Professional development for steelpan tutors. Support for the Steelpan Educators and Tutors Association Tuition is currently provided free of charge to under 18,5. All registered members of SV2G's Schc>ol of Steelpan are tutored in playtng the steel pan instrument correctly through the use of specialist techniques and by working through sets of repertoires. Music theory tuition also continues to be offered online. Once fluent on the instrument, each member then has an opportunity to join the Charitls performance band. Wycombe Steel Orchestra. Wycombe Steel Orchestra (WSO) Wycombe Steel Orchertra is 3 unique orchestral experience established to nurture and train young musicians to be inspired players. encouraging them to perform to their highest abilities within a professional environment. Based in High Wycombe. the orchestra has a repertoire of wide variety of music genres including calypso, classical and chart music. WSO can perform and run workshopsfor 3ny occasion including corporate. charity and private events. We can tailor to suit your needs from a soloist to a 21>piece orchestra. An orchestra with vision, ambition, and excellence, you are guaranteed a unique memorable experience for your event. Wycombe Steel Orchestra performs and gives steelpan taster workshops at private & corporate events. Wycombe Steel Orchestra have been privileged to perform before= Her Majesty The Queen. Elizabeth11 Diamond Jubilee in the Palace Gardens The Prime Minister of St Vincent &the Grenadines, Hon. Dr. Ralph. E. Gonsalves H.R.H Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex Beijing Paralympic Handover. Olympic Games UK Parliament beingthe first Steelband in a unique on&off performance The National Association of Steelpan Educators and Tutors [SpAl SPETA 15 a professional organi5ation for steelpan educators and tutors. previously sponsored by ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royals Schools of Music) and facilitated by SV2G delivered several online sessions. SV2G will continue to provide ongoing professional development for SPETA members with CPD training programmes. Black History Month Activities and Events Several touring exhibitions were delivered in partnership with Buckinghamshire Libraries that included the following:

George Atexander Gratton was one of the first Vincentians to arrive in Georgian Britain. Following a short and tragic life. George sadly died at the age of four years nine months. His body is buried in the graveyard at All Saints Church. Marlow. With this grant and the support of Marlow Museum and Marlow Society, SV2G was ableto share and celebrate George's life. 'Coming Back Home, A Vincentian Intergenerational Project. _ this project. supported by the National Lottery Her¥tage FLJnd. documented the testimonies of Wincentians. personal experiences and stories with three generations in High Wycombe. The project explored their experiences and memories from migration and settlement through to identity and everyday life. It also captured British born Vincentians caught between two cultures, documenting their journey and experiences. 'Pan Jammin into Histo this interactive exhibition told the unique story of steelpan development in the UK. invitingcontributionsof stories. memories. photographs. ephemera. or objects from communttie5. 'A Steelpan Town'_this project. supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. explored the rich diverse history of steelpan music. the musicians and the instrument itself within High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The project captured the main steel bands that were formed in the area. Manysteelpan musiciansfrom St. Vincent &the Grenadines settled in High Wycombe from the late 19505, including the 'New Sound Crusaders Steel Band, which became famous when in 1971 they won the National TV programme 'Opportunity Knocks. for six consecutive weeks la modem day equivalent programme would be Britain's Got Talentl. A series of Black History Month community webinars in collaboration with Bucks B.A.M.E Network. Community Impact Bucks, and The Clare Foundation were produced online forthe community. The webinars covered the themes on COVID-19 and the Impact on the Black. Asian. and Ethnic Minority Communities in Buckinghamshire. Key speakers included. Public Health Buckinghamshire. The Crown Prosecution Service and Thames Valley Violence Reduction Unit. Heritage Projects- Documentin& Preserving and Celebrating African and Caribbean History SV2G's past projects has been reviewed and further developed to encompass further intangible cultural heritage programmes. Dias ora Connections 'Diaspora Connections focuses on building the capacity of governments and other stakeholders to communicate and engage with their expatriate communities for inttiatives related to home country development and to encourage more development-oriented migration policies. SVG Dlaspora Programmes - La Soufriere Volcano relief. On 9 April 2021. the La Soufrière volcano located on the northern side of St. Vincent and the Grenadines erupted. Vincentian residents located in the red and orange zones were forced to evacuate into shelters. It has been reported that approximately 18,000 persons were evacuated from these 20nes. This disaster has resulted in thousands of people's livelihoods being affected with the displacement in many communities.

The charity put in place a short, medium, and longterm plan to help as many people. families, in shelters, communities and in the orange and red zones. FINANCIAI REVIEW SV2G has been successful in gaining further funds to overcome the challenges presented by Covid- 19. The charity has continued to deliver valuable work within the community, engaging with youn8 people and other members of the community at risk during this period. Income forthe current year 202012021 will include the following grant funding IN.8. some of these funds will appear under the 2020 accounts and will also be reflected in 202112022 accounts}. N L Heritage Emergency Response Fund- to secure the future of the tharity, including development of a business, marketing plan. website, and digital conversion of heritage collections to enable continued engagement with young people. families, and the wider community during social distancing measures. Home Office Emergenry Support Fund - supporting continued frontline work with young people during COVID-19. To continue this work wtth young people during COVID-19. SV2G purchased PPE equipment, extra support staff. and resources. Ministry of Justice- to build resilience and sustainable growth to increase the chariws capacity through a developed bespoke CPD support programme to strengthen the capacity of its workforce. Peoples Health Trust to TCOnneCt and rebuild resilience and create stronger community connections and deliver inter-generational steelpan music. Home Office Windrush Schemes Fund to promote and raise awareness of the Windrush Documentation Scheme and the Windrush Compensation Scheme. To share and encourage how to apply and support. sign post, and conneci with the help in place. SV2G's activities are continuaSly funded through donations and grant income. A very small amount of revenue is derived from commercial activity which includes orchestra hires and merchandise. The main area of expenditure is professional fees linked to grant-funded delivery of project activities. Other key costs all relate to storage of musical equipment. exhibition equipment, rental of teaching premises. In the absence of funding for any level of stafFin& SV2G relies hugely on the goodwill and hard work of its volunteers and Trustees. The charity operates on a break-even basis. Total income forthe period amounted to £103.282 and total expenditure for the year amounted to £80,816. N.B. the surplus shown in 2020121 relates to grant funding ring fenced for project delivery carried through to the nextfinancial year.
SV2G Report of the Trustees for the period ended 31 July 2021 Risk & Uncertainties The Trustees are satisfied, having assessed the major risks to which the organisation is exposed, and have systems and procedures in place to mTtigate such exposure. Despite the challenges of Covid-19. the charity has continued to focus its work on artivities to deliver public benefit. Building on this positive foundation and to support its Recovery and Renewal plan, SV2G will now expand its activities, reach, and impact. Thi5 will require 3 Continued er)ergetic approach to project and revenue development along with building developing new audiences and income-generating attivities. On behalf of the Trustees. we would like to thank all of our volunteers, grant providers, sponsors, and sUPPOrters in making this year another success.
