STATEMENT OF THE AIMS OF THE PAROICHL4L CHRUCH COUNCIL
The Incumbent and the PCC operate within the Parish. the Benefice of 'Christ Church and
Sl Michael and All Angels h￿th St Edmund, of which it is part, and Greater Northampton
Deanery in promoting the whole mission of the Church, in pastoral. evangelical. social, and
ecumenical activrties. Wrth these aims in mirmj the PCC has rnet seven times. The
maintenance of the church, halls and assoriated owned property is an ongoing
commttment. managed partly directly and via commercial managing agents ensuring
appropnate management of the Churches and CharÉbes assets. A standing commrttee
exists of the Incumbent, Churchwardens and Treasurer for any urgent m*ters.
MISSION STATEMENT-We are a Christian Church with a Liberal Anglo CatholicTradition
within the Church of England. We seek to seprfe God. share the good news of the Gospel.
and serve the local communty and i)ne another through faith. worship, arKJ prayer.

After a lengthy vacancy of almost three arKI a half years, The Reverend Peter H. Heffron
BA was installed as Priest in Charge on 3rf March 2025 with oversight for the parish and
the parish of Christ Church, Northampton. On the 1°
April, following proposed and
accepted pastoral reorganisation of Greater Northampton D8anery the two par￿heS legally
became a new joint benefi￿.
2025 has been a year of fomiation and foundatK)n building for the new benefice. A shared
ministry involving Reverend Peter HeTron, Reverend Rachel Hetherington. who was
licensed to the Benefi￿ on 22rwJ October and Reverend Aan March. wtth support from
Reverend Philip Munch, who runs the House of Prayer has been established.
Various new Servi￿ have taken pla￿, induding opporbjnrlies for joint Benefi￿ worship.
Holy Week was a significant opportunty to share in the entire week with Christ Church.
Additional V￿kdaY servi￿$ have been introduc£d induding moming prayer every
Tuesd•y. Other opportunitie3 have induded e￿ged with local S￿￿)1$.

The parish has engaged in LYCIG (Leading Your Church into Growth) in October with a
view to using its contents to assist in building over the future.
Healing Prayer Group- Meet monthly to pray for the SICK Sed by Reverend Alan March.
The Church Halls are used by regular groups, induding for worship by the Church of God
of Prophesy. The churth is also shared for worship wrth the Romanian Orthc*Jox Church.
The Romanian Orthodox Church 4ed by Fr Horin Simionca. who share the church with
us by faculty. They meet wee￿Y on Sundays after the Anglican Congregation at 11.30am
for their Liturgy. They also use the church on mt)st Saturdays for Baptisms and
Idveddings.
The Northampton Philharmonic Choir- Rehearse weekly on Tuesdays perfom)
regulariy at the church.

a) The Main Church Site
This consists of.
1. A parcel of land about one acre in whith is set St Michael's Church.
2. The Pansh Halls facing Tumer Street belong to the Sunday School Trust
3. The two properties 7 & 9 Magee Street. At Present let as industrial units and
managed by Budworth Hardcastle Ltd. Pem)ission to sell andlor develop these
properties has been given by the PDBF.
4. The Molly Terry Building- The Church Offi￿. ￿lIt wrlh fvnds from the Geroge
Terry Fund.
5. The Emmaus House of Prayer converted Sunday Schoovchoir Rooms with funds
given by Reginald and Elsie Jewers.
b) 193 Wellingborough Road
This consists of three properties 193a to c. The [￿mbering is consistent with a count
running eastwards.
1. 193a WellingtM)rough Road- a small retsil unit at present
and Indian Restaurant.
2. 193b Wellingborough Road - a larger retail unit now used
as a Kitchen Shop
3. 193c INellingborough R¢)ad - Restaurant

maintsin8d by the Borough Council.

A four bedroomed detached property used as a Vicarage before 94 St Georges
Ave was purchased by the Di0￿se. This Fwperty ￿longS to the George Terry
Trust and it is presently let out arKI managed by Jackson Grundy Lettings on
behalf of the parish.

The George Tery Fund- The bulk of this endowment is in the property 631
Wellingt4)rough Road. Interest and rents for general pansh use.
Curates Fund (70 Birchfield Road)- endo*rynent for curate's house- interest paid to
PCC for general parish l￿e.
Canon Cunningham Bequest- a small endowment for the upkeep of the Cunningham
graves in St Edmunds Church Yard.
THE PARISH ROOMS - Sunday Trust Property Charity No. 309742 - This i8 managed
by the parish as communrty rooms.
EMMAUS HOUSE OF PRAYER- Sunday School Trust Property Charity No. 309742-
run by the parish as a House of Prayer for visttors seeking a period of quietness and
reflection mainly for day retreats. The Warden is Fr Philip Munch who is non-stipendiary
and supported financially by St Michael's in his work.

The current reserve policy is to maintain sufficierrt cash fl(yw to meet known commrtments.
Public Benefft
The communrty and general public are invrted to attend public worship on Sundays and in
the week. We also host several chnsts.an CommunrtEs from drfferent parts of the workl.
The Communty Rooms are available for bookings 2nd used widely by many ￿MMUnty
groups for social actNits'es.
Plans for the Future
The Parish continues on ivs development during 2026. Increased pattems of worysttip are
to be inlroduced along with new communty engagement initiatives.
