and programmes, including ballet reconstructions and revivals, publicaiK)ns. and lectures and videos. and w promote
reseairh in all aspects of ihe subject and to publish the useful results.

2023-24 has been a busy year for the FrEderick Ashton Foundation, &$ a ￿sUIt of significant supw)rt provided by CAF
America on behallof th¢ generous e5tale of Barbara Schlain, a long-titne supw)rter of thc foundation and its WOTk. As
rAn be seen below. this has ¢nabled ihe Foundation to expand its r￿h and increase activitj¢5 in a number of diffcrcni
way5.
Resources
In ord¢r to deliver increased aclivilies, the Foundation has been able to engage on a part-time basis an Artistic Producer,
Artisti¢ A55ociare. Communications Manager. Administrator & kvents Officer and Financial Consultant in Hddiiion to
the p￿-time Executive DirectOT.
Mmnagement ofthe Ashton catalogue
The Foundation Owns the copyright of, and therefore manages tK)th artisiically and financially the licencing for
perfomiances of, Les Patineurs, Les Rendezvous and Daphnis and Chloc. It also acts on behalf of die riglitsholdors of
EniL)ma Varialion5, Monotones and Ondine. With the sad death in January 2024 of Anthony Russell-Robcn5, Sir
Frederick A5hton'5 nephew and residual legatee of his balleis {and a fomier Trustee and Patron of the Foundation).

ES￿le of Anthony Rus5ell-Roberts in managing the many balleis and diverti55efflents p￿VIouSlY in his caro. Thu8 the
Foundation now manage5 all the Ashton cathlogue bar seven ballets Still managed b> the rightsholdeTS. Ashton ballers
are regFularly performed around the world and this iMp)rt￿l aspect of the Foundaiion's operdiion is becoming
increasing)ly time-consuming.

An expansion of the Foundation's schem¢ to trdin up the Ashion repetiteuTS of the fumre has resulted in a further
participating tTainee repetiteur, currently sttidying Benesh International's online n(rtaiion reading course. The
Foundation was proud thELt Ashton Repctiteur Vanessa Palmer. a prfyjuct of the 5hidowing scheme. was invited by Ihe
ROY￿1[ Ballet to stag7¢ their new production of Lcs Rende7vous as pan of an Ashton Celebra(ed season at the Royal
Q)¢ra Holtse in June 2024 and thai Ashwn Repeliieur Isa￿1 Mcmeekan. also a Product of the schem< was invited by
Biigjlish National Ballet School to stage Les Patin¢ur5 for the School's graduation perforniances in July 2024.

progr<imme ¢nabling recreational danceTS CL) learn simplified versions of the Ashton repen0￿e. Tlie Foundation has
supplied Resource Packs for every ballet in the progrydmme. covering every aspect of each WOTk. Ashton Rep¢titeurs

complete the resioration of Ashion's 1932 ballei. Foyer de dpnse. li will receive its fitst public perforinance for In<iny
decades in slimmer 2025 when Ceninl School of Ballet perfoTm it as tmrt of their graduation 5xrfomidnces. Ar(istic
Associate s￿l￿d￿ Madgwi¢k, assisted by BRB principal dancer alld choreologyist Saniard Downs, has carried out
considerable WOTk in exploring how Ashion's Lameni of (he Waves {1970) may be recreated. The Foundaiion is in

Much of the year was focused on setting up and launching a new w0je￿, Ashton Worldwide 2024 2028. the
FoLindation's internaiion1I I festival to celebrdte the WOTk and legacy of Fredorick Ashton. Book-ended by the 120th
aRniversciry of fredcrick Ashton'.￿ birth in 2024 and the 40ih anniversary of his deèth in 2028. the fesiival aims io
liighlighl the iinivcrsal appeal of Ashton's ballets across the globe. fos(er the sprcod and influence of his leLFacy and
encoiirage companies worldwide to perform Ashion iVOTks, whether as Tevivals OT foT the fiTSI time. To date,
twenty-four internaiional companies hav¢ agreed to participate, coming frorn around thc world, including fm
Australia, Canada. South America. F.urope. Japan. South Africa, New Zealand and the USA as wcll the UK. The
