I report to the Trustees on my examination of The Edna Johnson Will Trust Charity ("the Trust") for the year ended 31 January 2025.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity Trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act').

I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

(1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or

(2) the accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1. Accounting policies

1.1 Basis of preparation

The accounts have been prepared on the Receipts and Payments basis and in accordance with the Charities Act 2011.

1.2 Investments

Investments are stated at market value. The funds comprise of a managed investment portfolio.

2. Related parties and transactions with trustees

None of the Trustees (or any persons connected with them) received any remuneration or expenses during the year (2024: £Nil).

The Trust uses legal services from Gaby Hardwicke in which two of the Trustees are principals. The Trustees are not involved in the administration of the Trust at the legal firm, and all payments made are at arms length. The total amount paid in the year was £3,890 (2024: £3,793).
