The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statements of the Company for the 1 August
2019 to 31 Juty 2020. The annual rew>rt serves the purposes of ky)th a Twstees. report and a diTectors' report
under company law. The Trustees confirm that the annual report and financial Statements of the charitable
ompany comply with the current slatutory requirements, the requirements of the charitable company's
governing document and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Pt8ctice ISORPI applicable lo
Charities preparing their accounts in accordance Y￿th the Financial Reporb"ng Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS1021 leffeclwe 1 January 20191.
Since the Company qualrfies as small under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006, the strategic report
required of medium and large companies under the Companies Act 2006 (Strategic Report and Directors.
Report) Regulations 2013 has been omitted.

. Policies and objectives
The Charity's objective 15 the Pfomotion of Community participation in heathy rerxeation and in particular. but not
exclusivety, by the prov¢sion of facilrties for the pla￿n9 of hockey.
In setting objectives and planning for activities, the Tnjstees have given due consideration to general guidance
published by the Charity CommissKJn relating to public benefit, induding the guidan￿ 'Public benefit.. running a
charity {PB21'.

During the period under ￿￿eW the facilrty Nfds used by local schools. dubs and other community organisation5
as part of healthy recfeation and sporting actFW'ty for public benefft.
Achievements and performanee
. Review of actlvitSe8
The period under review ￿flectS the seventh fvll year of the facility. Sufficient income was once again generated
durÈng the year to provide a sinking fund to fflainlain the facility in first clas5 condttson.
In 2010 the Consortium leased a parcel of land (part of the Hewett School silel from the Centr81 Norwich
Foundation Tru51 and gained planning pem)ission for hockey prtches. The first pitch was opened in June
2011. In December 2014 the Consortium agreed to Su￿let part of the land lo the Girts, Day School Trust IGDSTI
in order for them lo build a pttch for the Nomich High School for Girls INHSGI using the planning permission
already in place. Whilst not members of the Consofts"um. GDST and NHSG agreed to certain conditions as part
of the afrangement, the principal condrtions being..
primarity through Norwich Dragons Hockey Club, lo allow cunmunty use of the ptich in the evenings
and al weekends
to ensure the Consortium pitch was booked by OLFtside user5, if it was available, before the Hi9h School
pitch
lo provide financial, planning and project management resources to SUPkK)rt the construction of a
pavilion at the site, this specific offer was offiually withdrawn by GDST in November 2018.

In September 2015 The Hewett School became an academy (The Hewett Academy) sponsored by the
Inspiration Trust, however, this will not affect the ConsortTrum's lease and a ctose working relationship remains
with The Hewett Acaedmy. Mr P Andrews, former governor of The Hth¥ett Schty)I, was asked lo remain as a
Trustee and Director of the cons0￿.UM by his fellow Tnsslees.
Financial rnview
. Going concem
After making appropriate enquiries, including taking into account the current Cov1￿19 crisis, the Trustees have
a reasonable expectation that the Company has adequate resources lo continue in operab.onal existence for the
foreseeable future. The TTUStees are expecting a drop in income and some reduction in expenses for the year
202￿21, however there are adequate levels of free reserves and the Trvslees do not expect the current crisis to
impact on the Company's going concem positson or future developments. For this rea50n. they continue to adopt
the going concern basis in preparing the financial slalements.

As al 31 Juty 2020. total funds held amounled lo £423.620 {2019'. £408.3551. Included in this amount was
£195,258 12019." £200,121) of restricted funds represenb.ng capitsl grants received in contributson towards the
facilrties.
Remaining free reserves to be used lo fLbnd the Charitys activitie5 and ongoing governan￿ amounted lo
£228,362 12019.. £208,234). The Trustees maintain free reserves al such a level to cover operational
expenditure for a minimum period of 12 months. Unreslricted rese￿eS al the year end are therefore sufficient to
meet this policy.

The Company was incorporaled as 3 private company limited by guarantee on 17 August 2010. The Companws
articles of association were amended on 4 August 2011 and was registered by the Charity Ctymmission on 15
August 2011, with registered tharity number 1143340.

The management of the C¢)mpany is the reswnsibilty of the Tnjstees who are elected and co-opted under the
temis of the Trust deed.

1.1 Basis of preparatlon of flnan¢lal ststements
The financial stslemenls have t*en prepared in accordance the Charities SORP IFRS 1021-
Accounting and Reporting by Charities-. Statement of Recommended Practi￿ applicable to charities
prepanng their accounts in accordance with the Finanua5 ReF￿rtIng Standayd applicab￿ in the UK
Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 20151. the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Companies Act 2006.
The Central NO￿lr￿ Hockey Consorlium Limited meets the definIt￿n of a public benefit entity under
FRS 102. Assets and liabiif(ies are tntiialty ￿OgnISed at hisloiical cost or transaction value unless
otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy.
1.2 Going concern

The cC￿npanY is a company limrted by guarantee. The members of the Company are the Trustees
named on page 1. In the event of the Cornpany being wound up, the liability respect of the
guarantee is limited lo £1 per member of the Company.

The capital contribulions made by Town Close House Educab"onal Trust Limiled represent
progr8mme Telaled investment by that tharity and is rellected as deferred income. This SL*m is to be
converted to a granl by Town Close House Educational Trust Limited over the life of the facilities.
1.5 Expgnditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefft
to a third paty, rt is probable that a transfer of economic benefit$ will be required in settlement and
the amount of the c*)lig8lion can be me8sured ￿lIablY.
Expenditure on charitable actiwties is incurred on direefy undertaking the ath'vrties which further the
Company's ol¥'eclives, as well as any associated support costs.
