Providing recreational opportunities as an alternative to gang membership
Objects: 1.To Advance In Life And Help Young People Between The Ages Of 12 To 25 In The UK Whose Life Chances Have Been Affected By Related Violence And Crime Through:a) Education And Training For Employment, Which Develop Their Skills, Capacities And Capabilities To Enable Them To Participate In Society As Mature And Responsible Individuals.b)providing Recreational Opportunities (Cultural And Sporting Projects) In Partnership With Other Charities And Local Authorities To Offer Alternatives To Gang Membership.2. To Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit By Preventing Young People (Between The Ages Of 12 To 25) In The UK From Becoming Socially Excluded Due To Gang Related Crime And Violence And Assiting Them To Integrate Into Society, By Providing:a) Early Intervention Projects In Partnership With Other Charities And Local Authorities That Educate Young People Between The Ages Of 12 To 25 To The Effects And Consequences Of Gang Membership And Its Related Crime And Violence. Projects Will Include Citizenship Programmes, Workshops And Special Events.b) Funding For Mentoring Programmes Which Provide Positive Role Models Through A Buddying Scheme.3. To Advance The Education Of The Public In The Subject Of Youth Gang Culture In Britain, By The Provision Of:a) Funding For Campaigns Using Information Media Such As Internet, Television, Radio, Libraries, Information Centres, Seminars, Conferences And Lectures Which Raise Awareness Of The Devasting Impact Gang Crime Can Have On The Local Community, Families And Young People, As Perpetrators And Victims.
