Apostolic Faith Mission International Ministries UK Leeds Assembly

Trustees Annual Report for the year ended 31 March 2021

Governance

The charity is part of an umbrella Apostolic Faith Mission International Ministries (UK) that holds triannual elections to elect Assembly board members, Regional Boards and the National Apostolic Council. These units are put in place to facilitate the work of the church at assembly level, regional level and at national level. For the current term, elections were held in February 2018. The board has diverse skills which are used in areas such as finance, social work, health and safety for the benefit of all church membership.

Objectives and Activities

The church is committed to bringing many people to knowing Christ so that they give their lives to the Lord God and have Him is their personal Saviour.

The church is on course to build individuals to believing and trusting in the Lord and to preach the gospel of God to many people of different race and background. The church has an ordained Pastor who conducts services, holds counselling sessions, praying with individuals or individual families, takes time visiting home groups to conduct bible study sessions, etc.

Church congregants participate in praising and worshipping God through songs and prayer.

Achievements and Missional Work

Due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, church activities were only rescripted to online via Zoom worship meetings.

Community Work

The church has been and continues to financially support Saint George’s Crypt, a charitable organisation which serves the homeless and vulnerable people in Leeds by doing monthly donations.

Financial Report

Our financial report is included with this report. The annual turnover is £76,944 which is below the threshold for a statutory audit. We therefore appointed an Independent Examiner who is a qualified accountant as required by the Charity Commission. A report of the Independent Examiner is included as part of the financial report.

THE YOUTH DEPARTMENT

The purpose of this report is to ensure that all structures are working together effectively and there is a platform for communication amongst all youth members, the committee put in place to spearhead the work of God in the youth department and the congregation at large. Reporting on the youth ministry also helps in the tracking of progress and the alignment of the objectives to work to achieve the set goals.

Independent Examiners Report to the Trustees

For the year ended 31 March 2021

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2021.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act').

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiners statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act; or

  2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or

  3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view' which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
