the major risks by area of activity. the nature of the risK the likelihc￿j of risk occurring and the measures token
to rnanage them. The risk matrix is reviewed T¢gulariy at Tn￿t meetings.
The Tft￿teeS are satisfied that all due and necessary measures hflve been taken in this Tegard. In particular, there

The Trust maintsins excellent relations with the local community, its neighbours (including other religlous

both English and That languages and also 4 Jllga7ine publish￿ by th¢ LBA. There is also a handbook
published for advance students. The LBA maintains a iM)okshq) which se115 bwks on Bud(thist
Subjects at very reasonabl¢ PTi¢es.
d) The Trust provides Iiknry facilitie5 with an excelleni colleaion of books on Buddhist and other
subjects such as philosophy. Books may be L￿Wed or read io the liTrJrdry.

The Trust Works closely with both Merton and Wandsworth Councils to promote inter-faith meetings.
The Venerable PM Bhatsakorn often attends the intrr.faith meetings with the purpose to create mutual
understanding among different faiths at)d religions.
There is also an Tren W once a year for visitors to see the Temple and its paintings and other artefacts.
Two major festivals are held eadj year. one is to ¢ekbr*e the Thai New Year in April and the other is lo
celebrate'Tr Water Femival" in November.
Five Buddhist festiva15" Magapuj4 Visakhapuj4 Asalhapuj4 Ve55anthrn &nd tkvorohana Days are obseryed to
¢ommemorate the gr￿ events about the Buddha's life.
On the 1° of January each year. the Trust holds a sp¢¢ial ahn￿gIVIng ceremony in which the monk8 carry their
alms Ix)w]s to collect food from lay suprrt)rters. Thi5 Prn¢ti¢¢ is to preseThe the culture of giving and to maintain
agood relatiOll5hip between the monastic5 and ]ay supporter5.

Thc Thst employs one person ￿ ¢ook for the monk* and keep the residenR Clean and iidy. He is paid a srnall
salary thnd provided free ac¢ommodation for his wife and son in the coll8g¢.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE:
D) On the 26 of July 2021. L•ndon Borough Merton Council has ￿anted planning pern?ission for
REPLACEMENT OF SNGLE GLAZED METAL WINDOWS WITH DOUBLE GLAZED METAL
WINDOWS TO MATCH THE EXISTNG ￿ APPEARANCE TO THE MONK'S RESIDENCE
AND THE CARETAKERS RESIDENCE. The Tnw a plan to this insthllation before
summer in 2023.
b) On th¢ 24 of Ortober 2022. IA)ndon Borough Merton Council hLs granied plannirtg pernission for the
ERECTION OF StNGLE STOREY REAR ExfENSION with new desi￿ which mat¢hes the monks.
residence. The extrnsion is intended for ceremotiiai and visilots, use especftally when the shire room in
service area 15 crowded on the impii8nt days. The Trt￿t p]ans to comple* the instslling of the
extension before summer in 2024.
¢) Since Covid restrictions have been life on 24 FebTW 2022, the Tntst plans for th¢ *mple to be fully
open for the public as usual. Th¢ artivilies such as seryices on daily basis. food or requisite off¢ring
will be back to normal. Public talk5 and meditstion classes are still available on Saturday and Sunday.
However. the talks and classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenin8 ar¢ %heduled ￿ resume at the
beginning ofAugu5t ID 2023.
d) On the Q of November 2022. it was th¢ fu5t time since 2020 that the Tn￿t hosted the Koyal Kathi
Robe Offering Ixtykrathong Femival which were OF6n for th¢ publi¢. It wts a Su￿¢S$￿1 day as over
4,000 people attended the event d¢sPit¢ the ligbi rain from time to time. B￿d on the positive feedback
from the public. the TnLSt plat)s to hold Songkr4n Festival in full sole on Sunday 10 April 2023.
e) The Buddhist Sunday S¢hool bad been closed since th¢ fJr5t national lockdo1￿ in March 2020. Now
the sityaiion 15 back to nonnaL the TnL$4 therefoY4 plans to reopen the Buddhist Sunday School in
March 2023.

To make the publi¢ aware of Thernvada Buddhism. the Tns¢ plans to hold tslks and seminars for
English srkaking adutts every first Saturday of each mont]L it is free io attend the tslks and seminars.
j) Engllsh language is c￿￿la1 for all r¢sid¢nt monk& the Tn￿ has a plan to run English langua8e lesson
to be taught by professional English teachers at the Temple and also sponsor the monks would like to
learn English at language centre or school of EnglislL
