The trustees also sought to<br>update the Statement of Faith and to obtain<br>status as a ‘Religious Organisation’ to<br>protect the Christian ethos of Love<br>Dereham Ltd.<br>The amendments to the MAA, the<br>Statement of Faith and the recognition of<br>Love Dereham as a Religious Organisation<br>was approved by the Charity Commission<br>in June 2024 and Company House in<br>August 2024.<br>The new charitable purpose is as follows:<br>The prevention or relief of poverty of those<br>in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health,<br>disability or financial hardship in Dereham<br>and the surrounding area in particular<br>though not exclusively, by the provision of a<br>foodbank; to signpost such persons to<br>statutory and voluntary local partner<br>agencies; and to work towards reducing<br>social isolation and loneliness. The<br>advancement of the Christian faith in<br>Dereham and the surrounding area in<br>accordance with the statement of faith in<br>particular though not exclusively by<br>broadcasting Christian messages,<br>providing pastoral care, and the provision<br>of a community meeting space.|

Community Fridge - Open weekday<br>mornings with a hospitality crew<br>serving drinks and biscuits and, from<br>the provision of surplus stock from<br>food outlets, free food is available for<br>our community to collect (with a free<br>drink!)<br>b. Lets Chat - volunteers are available for<br>a chat and a free cuppa specifically to<br>be a listening ear to those in need and<br>where necessary, signposting to other<br>agencies agencies i.e. Debt advice<br>(CAP), Police, Social Services,<br>Housing etc<br>c. Community Shop - Not for Profit shop<br>providing basic household<br>commodities<br>d. Community Transport Fund –<br>discretionary fund for people seeking<br>financial support for travel costs<br>e. Household Support Fund -<br>discretionary fund for people seeking<br>financial support for household goods<br>f.<br>Hardship Fund -Discretionary fund for<br>people seeking support for goods<br>when suffering hardship<br>g. Warm Places Initiative - Our project<br>Coordinator organises a timetable of<br>Warm Places with other organisations<br>in Dereham that offers a warm place to<br>meet and get refreshments (this<br>includes Love Dereham Community<br>Hub as a warm space.) We also<br>provide "warm packs" to the homeless<br>and people in emergency housing.<br>In partnership with Dereham Baptist<br>Church by using their premises, we hold a<br>monthly Community Lunch. Using our own<br>funds and donations from local food outlets<br>and the cooking expertise of our<br>volunteers, we provide a lunch consisting of<br>a two course meal that is free and open to<br>members of the community (free tickets<br>available at the Green Pastures Bookshop)|

For example, The National<br>Lottery, Breckland Council, Norfolk<br>Community Fund along with other funding<br>streams such as Crowdfunder and regular<br>donations, gives us the confidence that we<br>will continue to support our projects for the<br>good of the community.<br>However, for the sake of good practice, for<br>the Financial year 2025-26, we will produce<br>a Reserve Investment Policy to<br>demonstrate our commitment to be good<br>guardians of the Charity’s finances.|
