fom)ally every two months and maintain oversight bgtwegn meetings through regular reports and
updates from the Chief Executive Officer.

Execufjve Officer, supported by 8 ¢Jedi¢aled team of staff and around 150 volunteers. This structure
ensures that operational decisions are made efficienlty while maintsin5ng Clear lines of accountability and
strong govemance overslght. Together, the team work8 10 ensure that seThices ¢onllnu¢ lo meet the
evolving needs of older people across North. South, and West Dorsel.
The Chief ExecutNe Officer is the chantys sole key management personnel and is responsible for the
operational leadership and delivery of Age UK Dorchesterfs stratw'c objecb"ves.
The Board of Trustees r8vi8ws remuneration leve15 for this post periodicalty, bgnchmarf(ing them against
comparable local charities and Age UK partners of a similar scale and complexity. In doing so, tho Board
seeks to ensure that the salary remains tsir, compelilive. and reflective of the role's 8COP8 and
responsibility, vthile also being balanced carefully against the chartys income and affordability
considerations.
In-year adjustments are limited lo cost-of-living increases consistent ￿th those applied to the wider staff
group. This approach reflects Age UK Dorchester's commitment lo responsi￿• stewdrdship,
transparency, and equity across the organisalion.
Age UK Dorch8ster owns 40% of a trading subsldlary Iwith Age UK Boumemouth and Age Concem
North Dorset group) Age Concern in Dorsel Ltd. This trading company was domiant during 2024r2S.
Age UK Dorchesler also owns 500A {wilh A9a UK Boumemoulh. Poole and East Dorsell of a second
tradlng subsidiary, Age UK Dorset Enterprises Ltd. which was incorporated as a private limited company
on 10 March 2016. This company won thè commissiongd sèNic8 foi Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and
the conlra¢t commenced on the 1 st April 2021 for 3 y8ars wlh 8n optK)n to extend for up to an additional
period of 2 years. During the IlnancAal year the contract was 8xt8nded lo 31103126.

procedures established to manage these risks.

The charity invested £250,000 In a COIF investsnenl fund in 2018119. purchasing 1592.41 accumulation

strong governance and sound operational leadership.

Information and Advice.. Our team responded lo thousands of enquirtes, secuiing the eqLuvalent of
£1.64 million in annualised weware benefits for ohler people across Dorset. This income has improved
finanoal security for hundreds of househokls. suppotlng older people lo remaln Independent and
resiliont amid cosl-of-livlng challenges.
. Home Support.. The seNce contr'nued to proviije vital, day-ttrday a88i81ance that enatAed older people
to l(vg safely and comfortably in their own homes, offering practical help, reassurance, and continuty of
car8.
. Dementia Support and cogn￿ve Sb'mulation.. Dementia remain5 a core focus of Age UK Dorchester's
work. Regular weekly groups were held across our area, providing recognised non-pharmaceutS¢al NHS-
endorsed therapies and opportunities for meaningful soclal engagement. Aongside these sesslons, our
dedicated Cognitive Slimulation Therapy ICSTI programmo and peer-lod carer support groups offered
ongoing guidance, respite, and shared leaming for familres affected by dementia. These services
togglher promolg dignity, reduce isolatk>n, and help both individuals and carers lo rnanage the
challenges of living well with d8mentia.
. Footcare Service.. The charity successfully relaunched 118 non-surgical foot¢are clinics. This ha8
restored a valued local setvice that promotes mobllty, wgllbeing. and ¢ommunty wnnection, plans
to grow this servi¢e and support more older people in more geograph￿81 areas.
. Older & Safer Initiab've.. Delivergd in patherahip wth Dorsel OPCC, the projeca prowded approximately
1.100 wgW8r8 calls, ￿ home safety vislts. and 30 dvJilal awareness sessions, benefiting around 800
older residents. This initiative strenglhtrned community Safety and digrtal resilience, helping older people
feel confident, secure, and connected.
. Volunteer and Communty Support.. Around 150 volunteers contributed over 12,000 hours of time
across Age UK Dorchesterfs senrices. Volunteer8 played a Central role in providing community-based
support through friendly visitin9. befriending calls. welfare checks, and group fa¢ilitalion. Their dedication
has strengthened communlty Ilnks. reduced iso181ion, and ensured that older people continue to receive
personal, compassionate contsct across the area.
Social Inclusion, Wellbeing, and Exercise.. Through befriending, group activrties, gentle exercise
classtrs, and outreach events, the charity delivered around 2,000 hours of structured social contact and
wellbeing engagement. These sessions helped to improve physical health. reduce loneliness. and
promote mental wellbeing among older people in Dorsel.
Together, these OLrtcomes demonstrate Age UK Dorcheslerfs ongoing commitment to impact. quality,
and transparency. Trustees and management have worked closely lo slrengEhen sustainability, ènhance
volunteer capacity, and safeguard service continuity.
The Board recognises the dedication and professionalism of staff and volunteers whose compassion and

on our Co9nitive Stimulation Therapy programme and rggular eommunty demenlia groups, we are
developing an anhanced netrlork of peer-led carer groups and drop-in sessions. This approach
strengthens our commitment to the *thole familf model, 5UPPOrting both those living wth dementia and

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Despite a challeThJing exlemal environmont and the planned clos¥Jre of certain incom￿eneratIng
seryices, Age UK Dorchester remained financially resilient through￿1 202￿25. The Charity continued to
demonstrate prudent mana9ement, transparent reporting, and strong goveman¢8. ensuring that
resources were used ef1￿11¥01Y to sustain cole services and build the foundation for future growth.

of sèrvica consolidation and r&investment. Expenditure was managed closely throughout the period, and
the charty remains f￿u$&d on restoring balanced budgets over the medium term. The operational
outcome reflects responsible decision-makin9 and investmgnl in $grvi¢e rede$ign that wll support long-
