Responding emergencies HCI has responded lo all major emergencies in Bangladesh and Turkey such as Earthquakes. floods, and winter. Our community partners and volunteers rushed to the victims with lifesaving food and non- food items in Cox's Bazar, Comilla, Rangpur, Satkhira, Bogura, Noakhali, and Sylhel. B. Rohingya refugees response HCI began ils operation in the Rohingya ¢amp immediately after the influx started back in 2017 in partnership wrf(h community and inslilulional donors. HCI continue5 10 5UPPOrt these unfortunate communities with health, education, food, nonfood items, and shelter interventions. Livelihood and employment crgatlon- This program aims lo uplift the marginalised and poor from misery by providing direct monetary assistance. guidance for them towards being self-relianl and earning their own income. HCI has been implementing livestock and sewing machines in Jhenidah, Jessor, Sylhel, Magura, Rangpur and Noakhali dislricls among the unemployed people foremployment and for in¢ressing the family earnings. Many unemployed youth became self-suslaining and widow families directly increased their family income. Now, they can send their children lo school and enjoy a beller, healthier 5ife. Education programs: This program targets wide groups of talented sludenls". street children. orphans, Hiftul Quran learners and the Construction of academic buildings. HCI supports stipend and inlegraled help I such as books, slalionery and clolhos 1, lo continue the education for orphan students and encourages value-based education. Hifzul Quran Madrasha, Dhaka.. HCI established Darul Quran Madrasha in Amin Bazar, Dhaka lo spread out the Quranic education. Many of tsur able students have completed the memorisalion of the Quran and Thany are continuing their education. Water. Sanitation, Health and Hygiene Programs: HCI has been assisting mothers in Bangladesh by providing qualty m8lemity health services in the pregnancy. delivery and the post delivery period. HCI is also continuing to assist blind girls and the installation of water projects in drfferent areas, over the years. Religious dues - Ramadan and Qurbani project: HCI has been providing Ramadan food for Iftar and Suhoor. As well as, providing Qurbani me81 during Eid ul Azha for the most needy people in Bangladesh. REPORT For The Year Ended 31 March 2024 Risk Mana ement: The Tru51ees re¢ognise the major risks that the charity company fa￿5 each financial year when preparing and updating the strategic plan and as such, has development systems lo monitor and control these risks to mitigate any impact that they have on the organisation in Ihe future. The Iruslee reviews the risk maliix regularly al their meetings. The Irust&es are satisfied that a system is in place, or arrangement is in hand, to manage the risks that have been identified. Financial review.. Reserves policy The Iiuslees have reviewed the reseNes of the charity. Their policy is lo hold enough funds lo meet a three months operating Cost. In ¢alculating the charity reserves, the trustees have deducted from the lolal of unrestricted funds of the charity, the tangible fixed assets and designated fund. As such there is not enough reserve fund and Iruslees are looking into this so that the charity runs which is a going concern. Princi al fundin source Our charity's main source of income is collecting donations from regular donors, special donors, projects based donors, Charity events, online campaigns, mosque collection during Ramadan, (Kcasional collection during religious festivals, Eid gifts, Zakat elc. People donate through standing orders or direct transfers lo the charity's bank account. Plan for fLFture eriods.. HCI also intends lo raise a good amount of funds to establish residential orphan cenlres in Bangladesh lo provide orphan children accommodation, food, proper education and skills training. Through this project, those children will be productive crtizens of the country. We have already started a pilot project for this, this year. We also intend on expanding our livelihood project lo more dislricls and funding the children's health sector. Financial position.. The St8lemenls of Financial Activities shows a net surplus of £44,715 with net funds of £55,878 as of 31 March 2024. Dlrectors l Trustees. Responslbllities.. The Iruslees (who are also directors of Human Care Initiative for the purposes of company lawl are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards Iuniled Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice}. Company law requires the trustees lo prepare financial statements for each fi'nancial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charitable company for that period.
