The Trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015). ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** ## **1. The ministry to the community** - 1) Sunday service for local community and international community in Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch. The congregation is combined with local residents, immigrants, language school, colleges and University students - Sunday morning service for Hong Kong immigrants - Sunday afternoon service for International congretation - Sunday late afternoon service at Poole International Church in Poole - 2) Providing Online worship services - 3) Hosting and conducting the marriage services - 4) Bible studies, both online and at the location run weekly - 5) Water Baptisms - 6) Christian Education for children in Sunday school and Teenage group - 7) Toddler group with young mums on Sunday - 8) Free English lessons for 'British National Overseas' BNO, Hong Kong - 9) Free English Conversation class for Language school students - 10) Chinese group's Bible study in Mandarin Chinese group ## **2. Overseas mission: Connect to the World** - 1) Visiting partner churches in overseas and minister them (South Korea) - 2) Financial support to ministrise in London (Revd. Daniel Lee), India (Revd. Razi Kummar), Chinese Church in Sunderland (Pastor Hao Yang) - 3) Provide a ministry for new immigrants from Hong Kong - 4) Provide a ministry for Refugees from Iran and Afghanistan ## **3. The education to the public and the congregation** - 1) Cultural events for National Celebration day of Asian Countries (Mid Autumn Harvest Festival and Chinese New Year celebration) - 2) Conference for Christian Faith - 3) Evangelism Day for people who are seeking the truth of Christianity ## **4. Financial support to Charity organisations** - 1) Ukrainian refugee camp in Hungary - 2) Aide for Earthquake in Syria and Turkey 2/8 ## **BOURNEMOUTH INTERNATIONAL CHURCH** ## **Report of the Trustees for the Year Ended 31 March 2023** ## **Trustees** The trustees and officers serving during the year and since the year end were as follows: Mr Richard John Bannister Rev Duhyun Han Mr Chenggang Li Approved by the board of Trustees and signed on its behalf by Rev Duhyun Han 25 August 2023 3/8 ## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of BOURNEMOUTH INTERNATIONAL CHURCH** I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended **31 March 2023** , which comprise the Statement of Financial Activities, Balance Sheet and the accompanying notes. ## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: - examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, - to follow procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5) (b) of the Charities Act), and - to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of independent examiner's statement** My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair ' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. ## **Independent examiners statement** In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements - to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met; or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached. ACCOUNTING POLICIES** The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, except for investments which are included at market value and the revaluation of certain fixed assets and in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) ‘Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015)’, Financial Reporting Standard 102 the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102), and the Charities Act 2011. BOURNEMOUTH INTERNATIONAL CHURCH meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy note(s). ## **2. GOING CONCERN** The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the Bournemouth International Church Charities’ ability to continue as a going concern. There are no material uncertainties affecting the current year’s accounts. ## **3. INCOMING RESOURCES** All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when the Charity is entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. ## **4. TAXATION** The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities. ## **5. FUND ACCOUNTING** Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity.
