Slnce loss of I￿r￿ing from Stockport Metroposllan Borough Council ISMBCI in 2022, our abilty to provlde any
accessible indiwdual travel has been greatly reckted. wrth Mly the Adult 8nd Soual Caro transport and GroL
Travel romalnin9.
ThrougkJLrt 2023r24 w8 have manaJ8d to develop the Adult and Social ca￿ tranS￿rt $ervi¢e whth during the
peri¢)d provoded 8420 passengerloumeys ofwhich 51 % werè made by people using o wheelchair.
We ¢ontinue to provide valuable accessible transport, (under conlra¢t wth SMBCI for the mai￿lty of children wl
attend Valley Sch¢)ol in Bramhall. This is an extremely i*allenging, yet very rewarding contract, vth*h is now In 11$
s8cond year, w#h on8 mor• yèar rem8ining 8fter INS.
Similawly, our work transporting peoplg lo ho$pll•l wPb) requir• dialy*s o)ntinues lo develop. however the cINilraci
will expire at the end of March 2025.
So once again I can report that 2023124 ha$ be￿ pgrti¢ul•rly ¢haM¥nging, due to the ever-incteasing batde to
fflaintsin a safe and Teliable ageing fle&t ol vèhiclès. when therè isnl $uffiaenl finance to purch•e r*pla¢emenls.
The relentless costty breakdowns, requlrfng costty p8rt8 and lthur charges is bècoming un8u81&"n8bb 8nd very
dtifi¢uM on staff moiale.
Mechanic41 break(tr)wns have oo¢urred on a regular b8818 1-2 per week. with 81 least 1 Vehic￿ bery repaired ty
our supplier ¥ach week. Due lo the high numbeT of journeys fcf pe￿e using a wheelchair, frwu•nt ropaws to tha
passenger lrts are also a major financial issue.
Our expenditure on the repaii and maSntenance of the fieet has be¢ome extremely challenging ovfA th¥ past 24

Tight financial Controts and mon•y for Ihe previLMIS year have am attributed to a SUTF4u$ of 50k, This
however wll be absorbèd èxtrèmely quickly duè to the enomious 8nnu81 costs of vehicle repalr & maintenance.
The finonci¥l strains on keeping an aglng fleet operational 52 weeks of the year is becomirvJ unsustsinable to the
point where the future of the organisalion needs to be reas58s$ed.
Wlh this in mind, Ihe Directors of EGCT have come lo the condu$ion that the charity VAII no longer be able to
sustain the tremendous costs needgd lo k￿p Ihe vohi¢le fleet in a legally compliant, safe, and rel¥ble o)ndth'on
and therefore not be ab]e to mainlain ts ¢onlr8¢tual obligations

In setting Out the aims, objfrctives and planning our 8cb"vlties the trustee$ have given c4r6fiJl cwsideration lo the
Charty Commission's general guHJan¢e on put￿1¢ benefrt.
The Irustge$ have p•id due regard lo guidance i$suèd by the Charity Commission In ￿e￿(lIng what activltie$ the
tharity shoukl undertake.
The charity's PDlicy Is to consult Ind discuss ￿th employees, through unions, Staff ￿u￿{lIs al meetings,
matters lik8ly to aff8ci 8mploy88s' inlerests.
Infom8lion ol matters of con￿rn to emptyees is given through infomiation bull•lins and report$ whKh seek to
achieve a cornmon awarenesB on the part of all ernployegs of the finanaal and economic factors affeding the
oup's perfomance.

The surplus for the year was £51,949 8s com￿red lo a dèfitst of £50,709 in the prior period.
It is the policy of the cha￿ty Ihal ￿reStricted fvnds which have not been designated for a spKth¢ use should be
maintainod al a 18vel equivalent to betsyeen three and six month's expenditure. The trustees con#ider that
roseryes al tris lev81 will ensure that, in th& event of a signlficant drop in funding, they will be ab￿ to continue the
$rty's Current activities while consideration is 9iven to ways in which additional lunds may be r8ised. Thi$1gvel
of reserves ha5 been mainlalned throughout the yeor.
