Achievements and Porformance

We have-￿55 regular rowers from the
LOS.
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identfying the difference the
charity's work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to sociely as a
whole.
We aim to make rowing an inclusNe sport,
encouraging a sense of team spirit,
cooperation and perseverance. We want lo
show that state schools can compete with
the best clubs and independent schools.
We want to inspire pupils and promote
social mobiSty. We encourage our rowers
to be the bèst they can.
P*a 1.20
2024 has been a year of change for the
Club. We have changed a number of
trustees and have a new President. We
have implemented the rxing vs.
recreational offering wtth a number of Ihe
J15s and older groups. We presentèd our
first
irl racin
double.
Addltlonal Inforniatlon (optlonal)

choose lo include further statements re￿Vent about.
We had a Smaller than usual intake in J14s
in September 2024 wtt￿h is impacting our
cash flow as well as having a future
downstream effecl on Cohort size. J15$ are
still a large and high perforniing group.
J188 have a CO￿ group and a few mora
recreation81 participants. A few J17s came
back after a hiatus due to their previou8
GCSE year (J161 and J18$ are a strong
core group of dedicated roHers.
In 2024, we had circa 50 regular meM￿r3.
We took part in 8 number of local and
nat￿nal regattas, Including NSR in
Nottingham which was a seminal moment
forJ14s.
As well as a pub quiz In Aprfl 2024, we ran
large fundraL8ing event in September
which raised nearty £10,000 with GiftAid.
This allowed u$ to confidently start the
202412025 season. We are being dutiful in
gathering GiftAKI infomwtion from
contributors to maximise income.
It is also cruGial that we maintain a regular
series of fundraising evenls to enable us to

From a cost perspective. we had lo
recognize some increases in the running
rate for the coaching staff in line with the
general increase in the infLalion rate. The
stsrt of the 2024125 season came wlth the
recruitment of new coaches who seem
keen to continue wtth the club so this
provided a little more stabilty in terms of
coachin
staff. We have been ve
efficient
Other

at chasing paymert for races to recover our
costs fully.
The main fctus of the club is lo continue to
grow Ihe pa1￿CipatIOn. reducing the dro
out rale and maintsin a heallhy financial
discipline on costs in order lo secure a Solid
base the start of the next season
wrthout the need lo sell fvrther boats. For
next season in partular. we hope to
secure another large intake of J14s, recruit
new J15s to grow a currentty loo small
ohort. We hope that most of our J15s will
transfer to the J16 cohort in sprte of the
challen
es aSS￿l81ed with Ihe GCSE
ear.
Financial Review
Revlew of the charity's
financial position at the end
oflhe period
P•r• 1.21
The charity continues to reduce the cash
reserrfe gNen the increased costs of
running the club.
To supp)rt our cash flow, we have had lo
increase our suggested monthty donation
to £70 and £75 per month in order to
supwrt increased coaching and boat
Storage costs. This wa5 broadty well
accepted by families who understsnd th
reasons behind the increase allhough
required significant chasing for direct debits
to be amended. We have 8 numb8r of
familie8 who cannot contribute to this level
and we continue to supwrt them in line
with our club ethos.
The resep4es are represented ty the boat
inventory. We have in the past few years
sold boats to clear the excess and allow the
club to clear debt. We hope not to have to
sell further boats.
GBP109,000 represented by tKJats donated
by the school and parents when the club
