Th• Impad of tho Covid-19 pandemlc on SVFP
Our provision has been signrficantty affected by thè Covld-19 again this year. In April 2021
we had just restarted having Ih8rapists go into schools again ft)Ilowing the lockdown from the
beginning of the year, and we were providing a mix of online and limited face to face sessions.
Forfamilies. this ¢ompounded the stress of being isolated during the previous 12 months and
one of the things wo focused on was providing a8 many physical acttvitigs as possible during
lh8 summer. With support from Change4Lrfe wg finishgd thè summer wlth a 34lay Olymplcs
for families held in St. James Park.
At th8 Start of the autumn term. we had a new post in our structur& of Therapy Programme
Manager. This was ¢realed to support the increasing demand from schools and from families
for support with mental health issues. exacerbatèd by the tsyo years. During the year we
supported S additional schools (11 in totsl} and ueated therapy programmes for parents, both
for group work and one to one using creative arts therapies. Our S8pl8mb8r programme was
beginning to look more like our pre Covid-19 programme with f8C&tO-face activities 5 days 8
week. with Iheraysls starting in the local schools.
We were still using online moelings and sgssions, but there was 8 signrficant retum to fac
t￿face work. Because we h8d worked, rf more intensivety. with fewer families than before the
pandemic, we were anxious that wè were losirwj the numbers we previousty had. which was
tru8 of many organisations. So, we focused on som8 outreach work in partlcular areas and
slarted lo plan to relum to having an open Dropln, i.e., where families could just call in without
having lo make an appoinlmenl. Unfortunately. a rise in Covid-19 cases, anxiety over the
Omicron variant and some staff illnes5 in early January meant we pul off our Dropln relaunch
until April 2022. W&stminster has one of the poorest vacdne take up in the country so olhor
than affecting how we worked, w8 have also worked to engage familiès reslstant or unsure
about the vaccine, to consider valid reasons for taking11 up.

Prfncipal accounting poll¢h$ 31 Mar¢h 2022

The Injstees acc8pt thal the financial position of the chadty contlnues lo require careful

The pw¥)d since the onset of Covid-19 saw the charity increase its income following
previous yeats when f( had finlshed the year in deficiL During that lime, it established a good

showed fiexibility during the pandemic. Going forward the charfty Is looking to devebp more
long-lemi relationships wlth lunder8, as well as diversifying olher streams. for example
increasing ils donations stream, which was limited during the pandemic.
The trusloes rgcognise that maintaining and increasing income will be challenging, bul the
charity's work continues to be essential. especially glven the cost-of-living-CTlSlS. impacting
families on low incomes.
The charity utillsed the government Coronaviru5 Job Retention Scheme for a short while
