Summary
The Jubilee Cenlre team started the year undeT the conb.nued limitalions of Covi&19 locktlowns, and
we continued to develop our online PTe5ence, Orga￿ls[￿9 a majoT Conferen￿ across five days Ni
November 2020 which *tracted over 350 partJ"upanis from arnund the wodd. Our response to the
pandeffl￿ induded setttng up three task forces explored both the chaflenges a5 well as
opportunitÈes fDf soaol ￿10￿ In the upheaval caused ty Covid-19.
Our research programme induded submstting a 20,OtKJ word feport on dimate thange and Staiting iwo
other si9nfficant projects,. these were in addrtion to OilT quartety Cambridge P8peTS. In terms of
training, we ran a second SAGE Graduate Programrne in Cambridge over a 5iX-tTronth period with five

We rA)mpleted and published one vrmjor research reyjrt during the year exploring a relalion81
sponse to dimate change. which was commissKJned ty Sallux. Stsrbng with the phenomenon of
birth strikes as a way to protest against climate change. the report exafflined more wi(Jety the
irjtersection of relationships, population and the envtrDnment. Two other marn reseaTch projects were
started with support from Sallux.. the first vrds to inform th￿[ campaign to renew the ViSiDn for chrisb.an
democracy across EuTDpe by setting out a methodology for connecting the B$￿e'S relational vision to
econorTric, soual and polititxl challenges today. The second make the ¢a5e for a paradigm shtft

pandemic, we cut the duration from nine months to SL¥ month5 and thanged the research phase from
working on one project together, to each partiapant researching the issue of their th0O￿ng.
JubiEee Ce*)tre's sixth Soual Reforme￿ Summer Sthool (renamed Summer Gathering) took place in
June. when the theme was 'The Good of PO1￿C$.. Due lo the pandemiG. for the second ye31 running
the event was thlty online and was cc•densetl into a 48 hour period. A blend of recorded V￿e0 ialks
and live discussion allowed people to partirApate from dtfferent time zL￿e$. Thwe were 20 participants
alongside five staff members and nine speakers. Pafts"cipants C￿le from No￿aY, Sweden, Kenya,
Ecuador, India the Netherfands as well as from UK. Emphasis was plac￿ on application with a
practical workshop to develop concrete ideas for each patb"tipanl to begin to 35 a Galaty5t for
soaal reform in their own context and calling-

We continued to 15ffer 50Twie event5 as part of Cambridge Univwsty's annual Festiwal of Ide8s, held
entirely online this year. In the two week5 before Easter, we PLrt on four lectUTes that We￿ attended by
around 50 people each. .2021.. the best of b"mes. the worst of ts"mes' featured five young leaders
refiecung on the challenges of public leadership in the ojrrent dimate,. a second lalk introduced the life

In November 2020, we herd a major Ihat bmught together leading Chrith"￿ thinkets.
comrnentators and practitioner5 to consider what kind of institutional reforms should be pursued
following the disrupb.on ol Covid-19. Endorsed by 12 Christian organisations. 'Seeds of Change.
looked beyond the immediate responses over the ccwnsng months to longer term Social changes. We
focused on debt, the putpose of business and the role tsf (#vil soaety and the discussions explored the
distinctive CC￿tribution the Christian faith can brtng to Ihe tab￿ at this pwot31 moment Over 500

A second conference gave an opporlunty fof each of the pathcipants on the SAGE graduate

the previous fv40 months. The topics were communty partiripation and ciivienship". freedorn and
autonomy in education.. B Corporalions and the Tole of bLtsiness-, kinshp, infertilty. and new
reproductNe technologies.. and the lrfe and legacy of Keir Hardy.
Task Forces
A ssgnrficant way in which Jubifee Centre respon(kd to Ihe Ctiwd pandemic to set up three task
forces to think strategicalty and biblicaty around the potential for positive in5btub.onal refoTrn in key
areas of public lrfe. We drew t(yJether leading thinkers practiiioners to explore the issues of debt.
the mle ofthe stste and sotia legitimacy of business.
They met over several months, and members ol each task f￿ce presented some of their thinking and
findings during the Seeds of Change wnference. A5 part of their remit was to txintribute to the
national conversabon around these three issues. artidey from the debt task force were published in
the Church Times, the CtyAm bjsiness magazine in London, and EvangeliGgls Now.
After the Seeds of Change conference. Ihe debt task force and the purpose of business task for

We sought pemianent tywners for the fve Reform￿ swWre$ ty Li¥iu Mocan over the year and
h8ve lound Cambridge chuTches interested in acquiring The Lamb of Gott and'AnchoT Cast up to
Heaven,. Wheaton College near Chicago in the US purchased the largest of the sculptuies, 'Trumpet
in the Universe.. which enabled us lo repay the loans taken out to cover the final costs of making the
exhibition.
