The charity continues to promote awareness of many childhood illnesses through its Social Media pages.
The charity continues to engage with parents and young people via its website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram applications. Here the charity is able to share its ongoing work. Section D Achievements and erformance p
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Beads of Courage UK’s main achievement has been maintaining its support for the Beads of Courage programme at a time when donations have reduced significantly, the US exchange rate has remained low and the world has had to deal with a pandemic and the outbreak of war in Europe. Beads of Courage UK receives amazing support from Children with Cancer UK and its volunteers. We have an army of Bead Makers who make our special one of a kind Act of Courage beads and another army of Bead Bag Makers who source material and make and donate bags for our children to keep their special beads. Each bead is hard earned so having somewhere special to keep them is an essential part of the support process offered by Beads of Courage UK.
This year we have decided to move into an office which also accommodates our bead supply. This will be a game changer for the charity as we are now able to have volunteers on site to help with bead packaging. This will start next year.
We have also been discussing introducing the sibling programme into all oncology wards in the UK.

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of Beads Of Courage UK (the Trust) for the year ended 31 January 2023.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under Section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by Section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
