As set out in the Articles of Association, the objects of Ealing Cricket Club are:

`1.      to provide community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for playing cricket and other sports ("facilities" means land, building, equipment and organisation of cricketing or other sporting activities); and` 

`2.      to advance the education of children and young people whether or not undergoing formal education.`

We are a familyClubandthislies at the heartof oursuccessbothon andoff the playingfield.Fosteringthissense of
family involvement is the cornerstone of our efforts to promote cricket in our local community.

The Trusteesrecognisethat,followingthe Club'sconversionto becomea charity,the Club'svariousactivitiesmust be
runaccordingtothebestprinciplesofcorporategovernance.TheTrusteesbelievethatthecharityconversion has
focusedoureffortsonachievingourtwinobjectivesforthebenefitofourlocalcommunity.Wecontinuetolook to
attract volunteers to strengthen our team to ensure we can deliver the best quality services.

thepaymentoffees mightbeanobstacletotheirparticipationincricketactivitiesattheClub.Theprincipallimit on
thenumberofplayingmembersattheClubhashistoricallybeenthelackoffacilitiesthatwehavehadavailable for
ouruse.However,we expandedourplayingfacilitiesinrecentyearsandthishasallowedus to continueto grow our
cricketing activities.

## **`OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Charitable activities`**

Eachyear,theClubupdatesitsDevelopmentPlanaspartofitsClubmarkaccreditationwiththeEngland& Wales
Cricket Board (ECB). This document summarises the activities that are planned to achieve our objectives.
```

We are a club focused solely on cricket.
```

```
In 2022, as the Countryemerged from the COVID-19pandemicand continuingon from the 2021 season,we had a full
seasonofcricket.Thelimitationsof2020and2021werebehindusandweagainhadarecordnumberof members
participating in our cricket activities.
```

```
InSeniorCricket,ECChadnineseniorMen'steamsplayingleaguecricketintheMIddlesexCountyCricket League
(MCCL)onSaturdays,withafull18matchfixtureschedule.WeparticipatedintheECBNationalClub Championship,
theECBNationalT20Cup,theMiddlesexCup,ClubCricketConferenceCup,MiddlesexCricketBoard Development
League,theECBU19NationalClubChampionship,theMiddlesexWomen'sCricketLeagueandtheChess Valley
League. For the first time we had a 6th XI playing in the MCCLs.
```

OurJuniorCricketactivitieswere expandedagainwitheven morechildren,bothboysandgirls,playingcricketat the
Clubthaneverbefore.TheJuniorCricketsection,whichhadapproximately600membersin2022,agedbetween 5
and17in28juniorteams,is supportedbyseniorqualifiedprofessionalcoaches,ledbyourDirectorofCricket, Chad
Barrett,andassistedby a largenumberof volunteercoaches,mostlydrawnfrom the parentsof the Youth Cricketers.
ManyofthevolunteercoachesundertakeECBsponsoredcoachingcoursesandsomegoontoLevel2courses. Our
Girls' section remains one of the largest in the country with over 100 girls.
```

SeniorcricketisprovidedbytheClubacrossaspectrumofstandardsandcompetitivenessandisplayed by
participantswitha widerangeof abilitylevels.It is alsoanintegralpartof thecontinuumof youthdevelopment and
participation.
```

TheseniorMen'sandWomen'steamsoftenincludeasignificantnumberofJuniorCricketersgivingour younger
players the opportunity to get exposure to more experienced cricketers and to play at a higher level.
```

TheClubprovidesplayingopportunitiesforalllevelsofabilityalthoughallteamsareusuallyselectedonability. This
ensuresthatteamscontaintheskillsnecessary(forexample,bowling,batting,fieldingandwicket-keeping)and that
playersplaycricketatalevelcommensuratetotheircompetencetoensuresafety.Selectionisbasedon the
experienceandjudgementofcoachestakingintoaccountanumberoffactorsincludingthebalanceofskills needed
and player availability. When there are sufficient players available, the Club seeks to organise additional fixtures.
```

Inrecentyears,wehavehighlightedtheneedfortheClubtoexpanditsplayingfacilitiestoallowittosatisfy the
demand for cricket activities.
```

Our merger with HanwellCricketClub, completedin 2013, provideda badlyneeded additionalground,particularly for
YouthCricketers.And, in 2017, Popesfieldfinallybecame a realityafter a long gestationperiod.Popesfieldhas proved
tobeahugesuccessbothasacentreofcricketexcellenceandasportsvenueforourlocalcommunity.In2023, we
expectthatwewillagainneedtohireadditionalplayingfacilitiestocaterforallofourplannedactivities.. We
continue to look actively at acquiring additional playing facilities.

Coachingcoursesforyoungcricketerson Sundaysandthroughoutthe schoolholidayscontinueto be runat the Club
underour brand,Premier CricketCoaching.And in recent years we have expandedour comprehensivewinter training
programmefor our JuniorCricketers,whichhas againbeen very popular.We also run indoorcoachingcourses during
the winter during the October and February half term breaks and during the Christmas holidays.

TheClubisactivelyengagedwithanumberoflocalschoolswhereweareassistingthedevelopmentofcricket with
theschools.WealsohostKwikCricketcompetitionsrunonbehalfofActiveEaling,SchoolsSportsPartnerships and
othercompetitionson behalfof MiddlesexCricketandthe MiddlesexJuniorCricketAssociationandare continuing to
work closely with Active Ealing and others promoting cricket in our local community.

2022 was another successful year for our teams.

In SeniorCricket,our 1st XI, finisheda disappointing7th in the MiddlesexCountyCricketPremierLeague(the same  as
in2021),butwedidmakeittothefinalofMiddlesexCup,whichwasnotabletobecompletedin2022and is
expectedtobeplayedMay2023.WealsomadeittotheSemiFinalsoftheMiddlesexT20Cup,losingto eventual
winners,Richmond.The2ndXIfinished5thintheirdivision,whichwasencouragingwitharelatively inexperienced
side.Onabrightnote,our3rdXI,4thXIandEalingHanwellians2ndXIallwontheirrespective divisions.
Unfortunately,our 5th XI and EalingHanwellians1st XI were both relegated.Our Women's 1st XI, playingin Division 1
oftheMiddlesexCricketWomen'sLeague,againstsomeverystrongopposition,hadasomewhat disappointing
season, but still managed to finish 5th.
```

InJuniorCricket,we againhadanexcellentseasoncontinuingthesuperbresultsseeninrecentyears.The highlights
weretheU14Boys,U11GirlsSoftballandU13GirlsSoftballwhowereCountyLeaguechampionsandtheU15 Boys
who were CountyCup winners.Virtuallyall of ourBoys andGirlsteams won theirlocalArea leaguesandqualified for
the County-widestagesof theircompetitions.The culminationwas againthe Clubbeingawardedthe Victor Ludorum
trophy as the Champion Junior Club in Middlesex. We have now held this trophy since 2019.
```

InadditiontotheMiddlesexJuniorCricketAssociationcompetitions,theinternalInterFranchiseLeague (IFL)
launchedin2019toprovideadditionalplayingopportunitiesforourJuniormemberswasagainagreatsuccess. We
also had another fantastic IFL Festival.
```

A largenumberof ourBoysandGirlscontinuetoparticipateintheMiddlesexCricketplayerpathwayandwe  believe
that we still have a higher number of children playing County Age Group cricket than any other Club in Middlesex.
```

```
The continuedsuccess of our juniorteams and playersis extremely pleasingand a great credit to our brilliant coaches,
many of whom are volunteers.
```

```
2022sawthenumberofYoungCricketersattheClubincreaseagainwitharound600Juniormembers.We have
continuedtoinvestinourcoachinginfrastructureattheClubtoensurethatwedeliverexcellentcricketactivities to
an ever increasing number of players, both Senior and Juniors.
```

Withthe increasein cricketactivitiesin recentyears,we have investedfurtherin our playingfacilities.In 2020/21, we
replacedtheoutfieldofourgroundatCorftonRoadand2021/22weinstalledabrandnewstateoftheart8 lane
practicenet facilityand three hybridpitchesin the cricketsquareat CorftonRoad.Whilemuch of this investment has
been and will continueto be funded from the Club's reserves, we had a successfulfund raisingcampaignin which over
£60,000 was raised to supplement the funds provided by the Club for our new nets.
```

Wecontinuetolookforopportunitiestoimproveandexpandourfacilitiesandwehopetoannounce further
improvements in the short to medium term.

functionsand social facilitiesto fee-payingmembers. It preparesits financialstatementsto 30 Septemberand  donates
the whole of its taxable profit to Ealing Cricket Club.

EalingCricket&SocialClubLimitedisthesolememberofPremierCricketCoachingLimited,alimited liability
company,registeredinEnglandunderregisterednumber9951849.PremierCricketCoachingLimited was
incorporatedon14January2016andrunscricketcoachingcoursesandsupportsEalingCricketClub.Itprepares its
financial statements to 30 September and donates the whole of its trading profit to Ealing Cricket Club.

The company'sArticlesof Associationrequirethatthere be at least three Trusteesand a maximumof twelve Trustees
(Article 25).

Trustees (Article 26), provided they have reached the age of 18 years, and unless disqualified under Article 27.

from office at each annualgeneralmeeting,plus any Trustees who have been appointedby the Trustees since the  last

The 2021 AGM saw the end of an era with the retirementof John Poore who had been Presidentof EalingCricket Club
since 1996 and had overseenan unprecedentedperiodof success and developmentat the Club.John'sretirement led
toare-considerationbytheTrusteesofthestructureoftheBoardofTrustees.andanumberofchanges were
approvedatthe2021AGMincludingsplittingtheroleasPresidentintotwo,withBobFisherbeingappointed as
President and James Grigg becoming Chair of Trustees and assuming all of John Poore's executive responsibilities.
```

The Trusteescontinueto considerthe effectivenessof ourcorporategovernanceto ensurewe have the best possible
structureto meet the challengesof the future.As part of this, the Trustees are currentlyreviewingthe composition of
theTrusteesandhownewTrusteesareappointed.Thisisexpectedtoleadtotheappointmentofanumberof new
TrusteesandwillalsoseetheretirementofsomeoftheexistingTrustees.Inlightofthis,bothKristianMartin and
Caroline Artis are both retiring at the forthcoming AGM and are not seeking re-election.
```

Kristianhas been a Trusteesfor 6 yearsduringwhichtime he has alsoserved as captainof the 1st XI. He has shown a
huge commitmentto the Club,bothon and off the field,and the Trusteesare very pleasedthat he will continueto  be
involvedwiththeClubontheplayingfield.CarolinejoinedasaTrusteein2019,havingbeeninvolvedinour Junior
sectionformanyyears,and,asaTrustee,shehascontinuedtomakeasubstantialcontribution,inparticularto our
considerationofmattersrelatedtocorporategovernance,whereshehasextensiveexperience,butalsoasa key
memberof the teamsorganisingthe Club's150thAnniversarycelebrationsandthe successfulfundingprojectfor our
new nets.
```

The Trustees are extremely grateful to both Kristian and Caroline for their excellent service as Trustees.
```

Asabove,theTrusteesarecurrentlyreviewingthecompositionoftheTrusteesandithasbeendecidednotto make
any new appointmentsuntilthis review is complete.Any new appointmentswill be subjectto electionby members  at
the next year's AGM.
```

As requiredby the Articlesof Association,Bob Fisherand James Griggwill retireby rotationat the 2023 AGM and will
also offer themselves for re-election.

The Trusteesmeet aroundsix times per year to review the Club'sperformanceand ensure the Club'sstrategyto meet
itsobjectivesisbeingimplemented.TheTrusteesaresupportedbyanumberoffulltimeandparttime professional
staffwhodelivertheClub'scoreactivitiesandprovidesupportforthelargenumberofvolunteersthattheClub is
fortunate to have.

Duringtheyearended30September2022,TotalIncomingResourceswere£456,732(2021:£345,172), Total
ResourcesExpendedwere£380,746(2021:£280,507)andarealisedgainof£nil(2021:£57)leavingNet Incoming
Resources of £75,986 (2021: £64,665). There was an unrealised loss on investment of £29,813 (2021: gain £32,997).

ActivitiesforGeneratingFundsof£78,115(2021:£89,475)comprisedSponsorshipandGroundRental income.
Sponsorshiprevenueof£23,390(2021:£25,284)wasconsistentwith2020/21.GroundRentalof£54,725 (2021:
£64,191)wasprimarilythefundsreceivedfortheuseofthegrounds,andincludesthehireofPopesfieldand the
paymentsmadebytheClub'swhollyownedsubsidiaries,EalingCricket&SocialClubLimitedandPremier Cricket
Coaching Limited, for the use of the facilities owned by the Club.

Followingthesaleofourinvestmentpropertyin2019/20,therewasnoInvestmentIncomeinthecurrent financial
year, (2021: £nil).

Donationsandlegaciesamountedto£110,671(2021:£64,004).Thiscomprisedexternaldonationsandgrants of
£66,536(2021:£4,061)andpaymentsreceivedfromsubsidiariesof £44,135(2021:£59,943).Donationsin support of
our new nets were the vast majority of the external donations and grants.

As in2021,therewasnodonationmadebyEalingCricket& SocialClubLimited,theClub'swhollyowned subsidiary,
as it has losses broughtforward.However,Premier CricketCoachingLimited,an indirectlywhollyownedsubsidiary of
the Club, donated all of its profits for the year (£44,135) to Ealing Cricket Club.

IncomingResourcesfromCharitableActivitiesof£265,203(2021:£115,759)were,inpart,members'subscriptions of
£108,818(2021:££97,975),butalsoincludedtheproceedsofsignificantinsuranceclaimsof£125,084(2021: £nil).
TheseclaimsrelatedtodamagecausedtothepavilionatCorftonRoadbysubsidenceandtheinterruptionto the
Club'sbusinessactivitiescausedduringtheCOVID-19pandemic.Itisworthnotingthatasubstantialpartof the
proceedsof the subsidenceclaim was expendedon repairs made to the Pavilionand this accountsfor the much higher
expenditure on Repairs and Maintenance during the year.

TheClubreceived£2,667(2021:£75,913)inGovernmentgrantsandfurloughclaimsrelatedtothe Covid-19
pandemic.

The principalelements of ResourcesExpendedon CharitableActivities£380,420(2021: £280,507)were Match, Cricket
& Coaching costs £112,845 (2021: £46,776), Salaries £81,372 (2021: £131,098), Ground Expenses £51,986 (2021:
£57,079)andRepairsandMaintenance£73,557(2021:£3,789).Cricket&coachingcostsbeinghigherduetoa full
seasonofcricketbeingplayed,thesizeoftheJuniorsectionagainbeingexpandedandthecostofcertain Cricket
activitiesnow providedby PCC, which,in prioryears,had been incurredin ECC and recordedas Salaries.Salaries. are
proportionatelylowerasaresult.ThehigherRepairsandMaintenanceexpenditurereflectsthecostsof repairing
subsidence damage and the opportunity this offered for a substantial refurbishment of the Pavilion at Corfton Road

£382,953).In addition,EalingCricket& SocialClubLimited,which,as at 30 September2022,owedthe Club £186,459
(2021: £169,865) and had cash reserves of £107,019 (2021: £124,275).

Theproceedsfromthesaleoftheinvestmentpropertyin2019increasedsignificantlytheamountofcash reserves
heldbytheClub.As notedabove,theClubhascommenceda groundinvestmentprogramme(CRGIP)to improve the
playingfacilitiesatourmaingroundinCorftonRoad,whichhasrequiredasubstantialinvestmentfundedfrom the
Club'sreservesinrecentyears.Thebalanceofreserveswillbeusedinthemediumtolongertermtosupport the
Club'sactivitiesandtoensurethatwecontinuetomeetourcharitableobjectivesintothefuture.Inthisregard, the
Trusteeshaveestablisheda developmentsubcommitteeto lookat the futuredevelopmentneedsof the Cluband to
seek to ensurethatwe are 'futureproofed'.The reservesavailableto the Clubwill be availableto providesupport for
any strategic initiatives that emerge from the development sub committee's work.

TheTrusteeshaveconsideredhowthecashreservesretainedshouldbeinvestedforthebenefitoftheClub. An
investmentsub-committee,comprisedofJamesGrigg,MarkGrafton,MartinTurnerandVikramPatel,was convened
to considerthe best approach.All 4 members of the investmentsub-committeehave significantrelevantexperience in
the investment of funds.

The Trustees agreed with the investment sub-committee's recommendations, which were as follows:

- Approximatelytwothirdsof theClub'scashreservesthatarenotrequiredforthepurposesof theCRGIPshould be
invested in an investment portfolio

-Theinvestmentobjectivesoftheportfolioshouldbetohaveaconservativeapproachseekingacombination of
capitalgrowthandincomeoverthemediumterminamoderateriskenvironmentfromadiversifiedportfolio with
reasonable liquidity.

-TheClub'sobjectivesinthecurrentenvironmentwouldbebestmetbyaportfoliocomprisingequity based
investmentswithalimitedexposuretofixedincomeinvestments.Inthiscontext,approximately70%of the
investmentportfoliowould be allocatedto investmentsin index funds linked to the major globalmarkets, with an  80%
