As set out in the Articles of Association, the objects of Ealing Cricket Club are:

`1.      to provide community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for playing cricket and other sports ("facilities" means land, building, equipment and organisation of cricketing or other sporting activities); and` 

`2.      to advance the education of children and young people whether or not undergoing formal education.`

TheClubhasbeeninexistencesince1870and,inthattime,hasbecomean importantpartofourlocal community.
We are a familyClub and this liesat the heartof our successboth on and off the playingfield.Fosteringthis sense of
family involvement is the cornerstone of our efforts to promote cricket in our local community.

TheTrusteesrecognisethat,followingtheClub'sconversiontobecomeacharity,theClub'svariousactivities must
berunaccordingtothebestprinciplesofcorporategovernance.TheTrusteesbelievethatthecharity conversion
has focusedour effortson achievingour twinobjectivesfor the benefitof our localcommunity.We continueto look
to attract volunteers to strengthen our team to ensure we can deliver the best quality services.

The Clubhas a fee-payingmembership,whichis concessionaryforspecificgroups,e.g.Juniors,and forothers where
the paymentof feesmightbe an obstacleto theirparticipationin cricketactivitiesat the Club.The principallimit on
thenumberof playingmembersat theClubhas historicallybeenthelackof facilitiesthatwehavehadavailable for
our use.However,we expandedour playingfacilitiesin recentyearsand thishas allowedus to continueto grow our
cricketing activities.

Eachyear,theClubupdatesitsDevelopmentPlanaspartofitsClubmarkaccreditationwiththeEngland& Wales
Cricket Board. This document summarises the activities that are planned to achieve our objectives.
```

## `We are a club focused solely on cricket.` 

```
In2021,despitetheongoingCOVID-19pandemic,wewereabletocompleteprettymuchafullseasonof cricket.
Althoughthereweresomelimitationsonwhatwecoulddooffthefieldofplay,particularlyinthepavilion at
Corfton Road, we again had a record number of members participating in our cricket activities.
```

In SeniorCricket,ECChad sevenseniorMen'steamsplayingleaguecricketon Saturdays,witha full18 match fixture
schedule.WeresumedourparticipationintheECBNationalClubChampionship,theECBNationalT20Cupand the
ChessValleyLeagueandagainenteredtheMiddlesexCup,MiddlesexCricketBoardDevelopmentLeague,the ECB
U19 NationalClubChampionshipand theMiddlesexWomen'sCricketLeague.Dueto thedemandfrommembers to
play cricket, we organised friendly fixtures for our 6th XI on most weekends.
```

OurJuniorCricketactivitieswereexpandedwithmorechildren,bothboysandgirls,playingcricketat theClub than
everbefore.TheJuniorCricketsection,whichhadapproximately550membersin2021,agedbetween5and17 in
21juniorteams,issupportedbyseniorqualifiedprofessionalcoaches,ledbyourDirectorofCricket,Chad Barrett,
andassistedbya largenumberofvolunteercoaches,mostlydrawnfromtheparentsoftheYouthCricketers. Many
ofthevolunteercoachesundertakeECBsponsoredcoachingcoursesandsomegoontoLevel2courses.Our Girls'
section is one of the largest in the country with over 100 girls.
```

SeniorcricketisprovidedbytheClubacrossaspectrumofstandardsandcompetitivenessandisplayed by
participantswitha widerangeof abilitylevels.It is alsoan integralpartof the continuumof youthdevelopment and
participation.
```

TheseniorMen'sandWomen'steamsoftenincludeasignificantnumberofJuniorCricketersgivingour younger
players the opportunity to get exposure to more experienced cricketers and to play at a higher level.
```

The Clubprovidesplayingopportunitiesforalllevelsof abilityalthoughallteamsareusuallyselectedon ability. This
ensuresthatteamscontaintheskillsnecessary(forexample,bowling,batting,fieldingandwicket-keeping)and that
playersplaycricketatalevelcommensuratetotheircompetencetoensuresafety.Selectionisbasedon the
experienceand judgementof coachestakingintoaccounta numberof factorsincludingthebalanceof skills needed
and player availability. When there are sufficient players available, the Club seeks to organise additional fixtures.
```

Inrecentyears,wehavehighlightedtheneedfortheClubtoexpanditsplayingfacilitiestoallowittosatisfy the
demand for cricket activities.
```

OurmergerwithHanwellCricketClub,completedin2013,providedabadlyneededadditionalground, particularly
forYouthCricketers.And,in2017,Popesfieldfinallybecamearealityafteralonggestationperiod.Popesfield has
provedtobeahugesuccessbothasacentreofcricketexcellenceandasportsvenueforourlocalcommunity. In
2022, we expect that we will again need to hire additional playing facilities to cater for all of our planned activities.

Coachingcoursesfor youngcricketerson Sundaysand throughoutthe schoolholidayscontinueto be run at the Club
underourbrand,PremierCricketCoaching.Andinrecentyearswehaveexpandedourcomprehensive winter
trainingprogrammeforourJuniorCricketers,whichhasagainbeenverypopular.Wealsorunindoor coaching
courses during the winter during the October and February half term breaks and during the Christmas holidays.

theschools.WealsohostKwikCricketcompetitionsrunonbehalfofActiveEaling,SchoolsSportsPartnerships and
othercompetitionsonbehalfofMiddlesexCricketandtheMiddlesexJuniorCricketAssociationandare continuing
to work closely with Active Ealing and others promoting cricket in our local community.

2021 was another successful year for our teams.

In SeniorCricket,our 1st XI, finisheda disappointing7th in the MiddlesexCountyCricketPremierLeague,but we did
wintheMiddlesexT20CupandhadasuccessfulrunintheECBNationalClubChampionship,beingbeaten by
Weybridgeinthelast16.The2ndXIfinished2ndintheirdivisionandthe3rdXIandEalingHanwellians2nd XI
finished3rd in theirrespectivedivisions.Our Women's1st XI, playingin Division1 of the MiddlesexCricket Women's
League, against some very strong opposition, had a somewhat disappointing season, but still managed to finish 4th.
```

InJuniorCricket,weagainhadastellarseasoncontinuingtheexcellentresultsseeninrecentyears.The highlights
weretheU11BoyswhowonboththeCountyU11LeaguechampionshipandtheU11CountyCupandtheU17 Boys
andU10GirlswinningtheirrespectiveCountyLeaguetitles.ButmostofourBoysandGirlsteamswontheir local
ArealeaguesandqualifiedfortheCounty-widestagesoftheircompetitions.TheculminationwastheClub being
awarded the Victor Ludorum trophy as the Champion Junior Club in Middlesex.
```

InadditiontotheMiddlesexJuniorCricketAssociationcompetitions,theinternalInterFranchiseLeague (IFL)
launchedin 2019 was againexpandedin 2021, includinga Girlsteamat each of the threeage groups,and providing
additionalplayingopportunitiesforourJuniormembers.WealsohadahugelysuccessfulIFLFestival, celebrating
the Club's 150th anniversary.
```

AlargenumberofBoysandGirlsparticipateintheMiddlesexCricketplayerpathwayandwebelievethatwe now
have a higher number of children playing County Age Group cricket than any other Club in Middlesex.
```

Thecontinuedsuccessofourjuniorteamsandplayersisextremelypleasingandagreatcredittoour brilliant
coaches, many of whom are volunteers.
```

2021sawthenumberofYoungCricketersattheClubincreaseagainwitharound550Juniormembers.We have
investedinourcoachinginfrastructureattheClubwiththerecruitmentofaSeniorCricketDevelopment Manager
andaHeadofJuniorParticipationandCommunityDevelopmentandwearecurrentlylookingat further
appointmentstoensurethatwecancontinuetodeliverexcellentcricketactivitiestoaneverincreasingnumber of
players, both Senior and Juniors.
```

Withtheincreaseincricketactivities,wehaveinvestedfurtherinourplayingfacilities.In2020/21winter, we
investedsignificantlytoimprovetheoutfieldofourgroundatCorftonRoadandinthecurrentwinterwe have
replacedandexpandedournetsat CorftonRoad,so wenowhavea stateoftheart8 lanenetsfacility.Weare also
planningtoinstallthreehybridpitchesinthecricketsquareatCorftonRoad.Whilemuchofthisinvestment has
beenandwillcontinuetobefundedfromtheClub'sreserves,wehadasuccessfulfundraisingcampaignin which
over £60,000 was raised to supplement the funds provided by the Club for our new nets.

improvements in the short to medium term.

PresidentandwascaptainoftheClubintwoseparatestintsfrom1978to1980andfrom1984to1986.John has
decided,withtheClub's150thanniversarycelebrationscomingtoa closeatourmanytimespostponedLong Room
dinnerat Lord'son 18 March2022, thathe is goingto retireat the forthcomingAGM('2022AGM').John'sservice to
EalingCricketClubcannotbeadequatelydescribedinwordsanditisfittingthatso manymembers,including many
peoplewhoJohnplayedwithandhavebeeninvolvedinrunningtheClubforsomanyyears,willbeatLord's next
month and I am sure that appropriate tributes to John will made on that evening and at the 2022 AGM.

John's impending retirement has led to a re-consideration by the Trustees of the structure of the Board of Trustees.
```

A numberof changesare beingmadeas a result.The Trusteesbelievethat, as happensat manyotherClubs,the role
asPresidentshouldnowbesplitintotwo,withBobFisherbeingappointedasPresidentandJamesGrigg becoming
Chair of Trustees and assuming all of John's current executive responsibilities.

ThischangewillrequiresomeamendmentstotheClub'sArticlesofAssociationandthesewillbeproposedat the
2022 AGM.

Inaddition,witha numberofothercurrentTrusteeswishingtostepdown,thenumberofTrusteeswillbe reduced

controlsystemshavebeenimplementedandthesearesubjectto ongoingreviewandimprovement.Health, safety
and insurance reviews are undertaken at least annually.

£4,061 (2020: £7,683) and payments received from subsidiaries of £59,943 (2020: £35,109).

As in 2020,therewas no donationmadeby EalingCricket& SocialClubLimited,theClub'swhollyowned subsidiary,
asithaslossesbroughtforward.However,PremierCricketCoachingLimited,anindirectlywhollyowned subsidiary
of the Club, donated all of its profits for the year (£59,943) to Ealing Cricket Club.

Incoming Resources from Charitable Activities of £115,759 (2020: £88,506) were primarily members' subscriptions.

TheClubreceived£75,913(2020:£36,053)inGovernmentgrantsandfurloughclaimsrelatedtothe Covid-19
pandemic.

TheprincipalelementsofResourcesExpendedonCharitableActivities£280,507(2020:£201,340)were Match,
Cricket& Coachingcosts£46,776(2020:£29,191),Salaries£131,098(2020:£105,529)andGroundExpenses £57,079
(2020:£33,172).Cricket& coachingcosts beinghigherdue to a fullseasonof cricketbeingplayedand the sizeof the
Juniorsectionagainbeingexpanded.Highersalariesreflectedtheadditionalemployeesrecruitedtobolster our
cricket resources. And Ground expenses included the replacement of the engine in the roller at Corfton Road.

TheClubhadcashreservesasat30September2021of£284,597(2020:£513,404)andinvestmentsof £382,953
(2020:£70,287).Inaddition,EalingCricket&SocialClubLimited,which,asat30September2021,owedthe Club
£169,865 (2020: £152,827) and had cash reserves of £124,275 (2020: £126,048).
```

Theproceedsfromthesaleoftheinvestmentpropertyin2019increasedsignificantlytheamountofcash reserves
heldby the Club.As notedabove,the Club has commenceda groundinvestmentprogramme(CRGIP)to improve the
playingfacilitiesat ourmaingroundin CorftonRoad,whichis likelyto requirea substantialinvestmentfunded from
theClub'sreserves.Thebalanceofreserveswillbeusedinthemediumtolongertermtosupportthe Club's
activitiesandtoensurethatwecontinuetomeetourcharitableobjectivesintothefuture.Inthisregard, the
Trusteeshave establisheda developmentsub committeeto lookat the futuredevelopmentneedsof the Club and  to
seektoensurethatweare'futureproofed'.ThereservesavailabletotheClubwillbeavailabletoprovide support
for any strategic initiatives that emerge from the development sub committee's work.

TheTrusteeshaveconsideredhowthecashreservesretainedshouldbeinvestedforthebenefitoftheClub. An
investmentsub-committee,comprisedof James Grigg,MarkGrafton,MartinTurnerand VikramPatel,was  convened
to considerthe bestapproach.All4 membersof the investmentsub-committeehavesignificantrelevant experience
in the investment of funds.
