As set out in the Articles of Association, the objects of Ealing Cricket Club are:

`1.      to provide community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for playing cricket and other sports ("facilities" means land, building, equipment and organisation of cricketing or other sporting activities); and` 

`2.      to advance the education of children and young people whether or not undergoing formal education.`

TheClubhasbeeninexistencesince1870and,inthattime,hasbecomeanimportantpartofourlocalcommunity. We
area familyClubandthisliesattheheartofoursuccessbothonandofftheplayingfield.Fosteringthissenseof family
involvement is the cornerstone of our efforts to promote cricket in our local community.

The Trusteesrecognisethat,followingthe Club'sconversionto becomea charity,the Club'svariousactivitiesmust be run
accordingtothebestprinciplesofcorporategovernance.TheTrusteesbelievethatthecharityconversionhas focused
oureffortsonachievingourtwinobjectivesforthebenefitofourlocalcommunity.Wecontinuetolookto attract
volunteers to strengthen our team to ensure we can deliver the best quality services.

TheClubhasa fee-payingmembership,whichis concessionaryforspecificgroups,e.g.Juniors,andforotherswhere the
paymentoffeesmightbeanobstacletotheirparticipationincricketactivitiesattheClub.Theprincipallimiton the
numberofplayingmembersattheClubhasbeenthelackoffacilitiesthatwehaveavailableforouruse.However, we
expanded our playing facilities in recent years and this has allowed us to continue to grow our cricketing activities.

Eachyear,theClubupdatesits DevelopmentPlanas partof its ClubmarkaccreditationwiththeEngland& Wales Cricket
Board. This document summarises the activities that are planned to achieve our objectives.

We are a club focused solely on cricket.
```

```
In2020,wehadplannedahugesummerofcricketattheClub,beingour150thanniversaryyear.And,although the
COVID-19pandemicdisruptedourplansfortheseason,theyearwillstillberegardedasoneofthemostremarkable in
thelonghistoryoftheClub.Asthefirstlockdownrestrictionswereeased,weopenedourfacilitiesinlateMay for
memberstopracticeontheirownand,inmidJune,webegangrouptraining,beforestartingtoplaymatchesfrom mid
July.Ateverystageoftheprocess,thelevelofengagementwithourmemberswasfantastic.Thehugeinterest was
evidenced by availability for practice and matches and demand for our holiday courses at record levels.
```

So, althoughour cricketactivitieswere curtailed,there was a huge commitmentfrom everyoneat the Club to get as  much
cricketonaspossibleandwefinishedtheseasonwithamuchcloserrelationshipwithourmembersandwiththe Club
being an even more important part of our local community.
```

```
In SeniorCricket,ECC hadfiveseniorMen'steamsplayingleaguecricketon Saturdays,albeitwe playedonly9 out of the
planned18 matchesandtherewas no promotionor relegation.We enteredthe MiddlesexCup,MiddlesexCricket Board
DevelopmentLeague,theECBU19NationalClubChampionshipand,theMiddlesexWomen'sCricketLeague.Dueto the
demandfrommembersto playcricket,we organisedfriendlyfixturesforour5thXI and6thXI onmostweekends, often
onbothSaturdaysandSundays.Unfortunately,a numberofcompetitionsthatwehadplannedtoenterwere cancelled,
including. the ECB National Club Championship, the ECB National T20 Cup and the Chess Valley League.
```

OurYouthCricketactivitieswerealsoimpactedwithteamsplayingabout75%ofanormalLeaguescheduleinour Area
and all Cup and County-wide competitions were cancelled.
```

TheYouthCricketsection,whichhasapproximately500membersbetweentheagesof5and17intheClub's18 junior
teams,issupportedbyseniorqualifiedprofessionalcoachesassistedbyalargenumberofvolunteercoaches, mostly
drawnfromtheparentsoftheYouthCricketers.ManyofthevolunteercoachesundertakeECBsponsored coaching
courses and some go onto Level 2 courses. Our Girls' section is one of the largest in the country with over 100 girls.
```

SeniorcricketisprovidedbytheClubacrossaspectrumofstandardsandcompetitivenessandisplayedby participants
with a wide range of ability levels. It is also an integral part of the continuum of youth development and participation.
```

TheseniorMen'sandWomen'steamsoftenincludeasignificantnumberofYouthCricketersgivingouryounger players
the opportunity to get exposure to more experienced cricketers and to play at a higher level.
```

TheClubprovidesplayingopportunitiesforalllevelsofabilityalthoughallteamsareusuallyselectedonability. This
ensuresthatteamscontaintheskillsnecessary(forexample,bowling,batting,fieldingandwicket-keeping)and that
playersplaycricketata levelcommensuratetotheircompetencetoensuresafety.Selectionisbasedonthe experience
andjudgementofcoachestakingintoaccountanumberoffactorsincludingthebalanceofskillsneededand player
availability. When there are sufficient players available, the Club seeks to organise additional fixtures.
```

In recentyears,we have highlightedthe needfor the Clubto expandits playingfacilitiesto allowit to satisfythe demand
for cricket activities.

OurmergerwithHanwellCricketClub,completedin2013,providedabadlyneededadditionalground,particularly for
YouthCricketers.And,in 2017,Popesfieldfinallybecamea realityaftera longgestationperiod.Popesfieldhasproved to
bea hugesuccessbothas a centreof cricketexcellenceanda sportsvenueforourlocalcommunity.In 2021,we expect
that we will need to hire additional playing facilities to cater for all of our planned activities.

CoachingcoursesforyoungcricketersonSundaysandthroughouttheschoolholidayscontinuetoberunatthe Club
underour brand,PremierCricketCoaching.And in 2019/20,we expandedour comprehensivewintertraining programme
for our Youth Cricketers, which has again been very popular.

WealsohostKwikCricketcompetitionsrunonbehalfofActiveEaling,SchoolsSportsPartnershipsand other
competitionson behalfof MiddlesexCricketandtheMiddlesexColtsAssociationandarecontinuingto workclosely with
Active Ealing and others promoting cricket in our local community.

Asnotedabove,TheClub'sactivitiesonthefieldofplayweredisrupted.Despitethis,itwasanothersuccessfulyear for
our teams

InSeniorCricket,inanabbreviated9matchseason,our1stXI,havingbeeninthemixforthetitle,losttheirlast two
matchestofinish4thintheMiddlesexCountyCricketPremierLeague.TheonlyCupcompetitionin2020was the
MiddlesexCup, whichwe retainedafter an exciting9 run victoryin the final againstNorthMiddlesex.Both the 2nd XI  and
4th XI finished2ndin theirrespectivedivisions.Our Women's1st XI, playingin Division1 (West)of the Middlesex Cricket
Women's League, performed creditably finished 3rd against some very strong opposition.
```

With the Boys' Leaguematchesrestrictedto the MiddlesexJuniorCricketAssociation(MJCA)CentralArea, we won all the
Leagues in which we competed. Our Girls were equal 1st in the U10 League and finished 2nd in the U14 League.
```

InadditiontotheMJCAcompetitions,weestablishedourownInterFranchiseLeaguein2019andthiswasexpanded in
2020 to provide additional playing opportunities for our Junior members.
```

The Club was awarded Club of the Year at the 2020 Ealing Sports Awards.

Thecontinuedsuccessofourjuniorteamsandplayersisextremelypleasingandagreatcredittoourbrilliant coaches,
many of whom are volunteers.
```

Despitethepandemic,2020sawthenumberof YoungCricketersat theClubmaintainedwithover500Junior members.
We havecontinuedto improvethequalityof thecoachinginfrastructureat theClubandwitha furtherexpansionof our
winter training programme, our Junior section is well set for continued success in the future.
```

Withincreasingincricketactivityweareinvestingfurtherinourplayingfacilities.Overthe2020/21winter,we have
investedsignificantlytoimprovetheoutfieldofourgroundatCorftonRoadandnextwinterweareplanningfor a
replacementandpossibleexpansionofournetsatCorftonRoad.Oncethisiscomplete,wewillbelookingat further
investmentto improvethecricketsquareat CorftonRoad.Whilemuchof thisinvestmentwillbe fundedfromthe Club's
reserves, we will shortly be launching a fund raising campaign to supplement the funds provided by the Club.
```

EalingCricket&SocialClubLimitedisthesolememberofPremierCricketCoachingLimited,alimitedliability company,
registeredinEnglandunderregisterednumber9951849.PremierCricketCoachingLimitedwasincorporatedon 14
January2016 and runs cricketcoachingcoursesand supportsEalingCricketClub.It preparesits financialstatementsto  30
September and donates the whole of its trading profit to Ealing Cricket Club.

SecretaryinadditiontohisdutiesasTreasurer.ItwastheintentiontoseektoappointeitheranewSecretaryora new
Treasurer,whenasuitablecandidatecouldbefound.InApril2020,theTrusteesappointedMarkGrafton,whois an
experiencedFinanceProfessionalandamemberoftheClub,asaTrusteeandasTreasurer.JamesGriggcontinued as
Secretary of the Club.

AsrequiredbytheArticlesofAssociation,MarkGrafton,havingbeenappointedsincethelastAGM,offershimself for
re-electionat the forthcomingAGM and CharlesDewhurst,KristianMartinand Colin Wheelerwill retireby rotationat the
AGM and will also offer themselves for re-election.

The Trusteesmeetaroundsix timesper yearto reviewthe Club'sperformanceandensurethe Club'sstrategyto meet its
objectivesisbeingimplemented.TheTrusteesaresupportedbyanumberoffulltimeandparttimeprofessional staff
who deliverthe Club'score activitiesand providesupportfor the largenumberof volunteersthat the Club is fortunate to
have.

## **`FINANCIAL REVIEW`**

Duringtheperiodended30September2020,TotalIncomingResourceswere£262,240(2019:£231,018)and Total
ResourcesExpendedwere £201,340(2019:£242,402).Therewas an unrealisedloss on investmentof £193 in 2020 (2019:
realised gain £505,437), leaving Net Incoming Resources of £60,900 (2019: £494,053).

ActivitiesforGeneratingFundsof£94,819(2019:£89,819)comprisedSponsorshipandGroundRental income.
Sponsorshiprevenueof£23,860(2019:£20,513)reflectsthecontinuedagreementforFullersSmith&Turnertoact as
theClub'sprincipalsponsor,togetherwithanumberofnewsponsorsbeingsecuredduringtheyear.GroundRental of
£70,959(2019:£69,306)wasprimarilythefundsreceivedfortheuseof thegrounds,andincludesthehireof Popesfield
and the paymentsmade by the Club'swhollyownedsubsidiaries,EalingCricket& SocialClubLimitedand Premier Cricket
Coaching Limited, for the use of the facilities owned by the Club.

Followingthesaleof ourinvestmentpropertyin2019/20,therewasnoInvestmentIncomeinthecurrentfinancial year,
(2019: £10,400).

Donations and legacies amounted to £42,792 (2019: £39,046). This comprised external donations and grants of
£7,683 (2019: £20,226) and payments received from subsidiaries of £35,109 (2019: £18,820).
```

As in 2019,therewas no donationmadeby EalingCricket& SocialClubLimited,the Club'swhollyownedsubsidiary,as it
haslossesbroughtforward.However,PremierCricketCoachingLimited,anindirectlywhollyownedsubsidiaryof the
Club, donated all of its profits for the year (£35,109) to Ealing Cricket Club.

Incoming Resources from Charitable Activities of £88,506 (2019: £91,727) were primarily members' subscriptions.

TheClubhadcashreservesasat30September2020of£513,404(2019:£580,617)andinvestmentsof£70,286 (2019:
£0).Inaddition,EalingCricket&SocialClubLimited,which,asat30September2020,owedtheClub£152,827 (2019:
£92,687) and had cash reserves of £126,048 (2019: £78,298).

Theproceedsfromthesaleoftheinvestmentpropertyin2019increasedsignificantlytheamountofcashreserves held
bytheClub.Asnotedabove,theClubhascommenceda groundinvestmentprogramme(CRGIP)toimprovethe playing
facilitiesatourmaingroundinCorftonRoad,whichislikelytorequireasubstantialinvestmentfundedfromthe Club's
reserves.The balanceof reserveswill be used in the mediumto longerterm to supportthe Club'sactivitiesand to ensure
thatwecontinuetomeetourcharitableobjectivesintothefuture.Inthisregard,theTrusteeshaveestablished a
developmentsubcommitteetolookatthefuturedevelopmentneedsoftheClubandtoseektoensurethatwe are
'futureproofed'.ThereservesavailabletotheClubwillbeavailabletoprovidesupportforanystrategicinitiatives that
emerge from the development sub committee's work.

TheTrusteeshaveconsideredhowthecashreservesretainedshouldbeinvestedforthebenefitoftheClub. An
investmentsub-committee,comprisedofJamesGrigg,MartinTurnerandVikramPatel,wasconvenedtoconsider the
bestapproach.MarkGraftonjoinedthissub-committeefollowinghisappointmentatTreasurer.All4membersof the
investment sub-committee have significant relevant experience in the investment of funds.

- The Club'sobjectivesin the currentenvironmentwouldbe best met by a portfoliocomprisingequitybased investments
withalimitedexposuretofixedincomeinvestments.Inthiscontext,approximately70%oftheinvestment portfolio
wouldbeallocatedtoinvestmentsinindexfundslinkedtothemajorglobalmarkets,withan80%exposureto equity
basedinvestmentsanda20%exposuretofixedincomeinvestments,withthebalanceinvestedwithactive fund
managers,whohaveanexceptionalrecord,providingexposuretohighqualitybusinesseswithstrong competitive
positions, conservative leverage and attractive growth prospects.

LimitedisacompanyassociatedwithVikramPatel,whoisalsoaTrustee.TheTrusteesconsideredwhether receiving
financialadvicefrom1stFinancialLimitedmightrepresentaconflictofinterest.TheTrusteesconcludedthat,as 1st
FinancialLimitedwasnotchargingafeeforprovidingadvicetotheClub,therewasnoconflictofinterestthatwas of
concern.

TheprogrammeofinvestmentintheportfoliocommencedinAugust2020.Theinvestmentsub-committeecontinues to
monitortheperformanceoftheportfolioandtheallocationofassetswithintheportfolioandmayrecommend changes
to the Trustees in the future.

TheTrusteeshavedueregardtoguidancepublishedbytheCharityCommission,includingthatrelatingtopublic benefit
in compliance with the duty in section 17(5) of the 2011 Charities Act.
