The Escape Animal Sanctuary and Cons¢rvalion C¢ntre objectiv¢s are to provide pemianent care for aniinals and to provide
advice, edu¢ation and inforniaiion on animal welfare by:

An animal sanctuary was operated in Pilgrim5 Hatch near Breniwood Essex.
Public benefit
Public benefit is ai the heart of what it means to be a charity. Two key principles define this area-.

is 10 attract as many members of ihe public a5 Possible to attelld the ¢¢ntr¢.
The Trustees have reviewed the aciivities undertaken for the public benefit and confimi their compliance with this duty.
Volunteers
Volunteers visit th¢ eentre every week to help care for and feed the animals. The Trustees would like to thank the
volun(eer5 for their hard work.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable Activities
During ihe past year we have continued to rescue and find home5 for allirnals. In addition, we continued to care for animals ai our
c¢ntr¢. During lh¢ year ¢nd¢d 31, October 2024 the animals accepted in£luded horse5, goats, sheep, ducks. pigeons. and pigs.
Each day 365 days of the year usually six volunteer5 are pr¢s¢nt with tasks including mucking out, grooming. and h¢lping with
aninial husbandry, fe¢ding, and manure removal. The volunteer5 total 20. An outsid¢ solid ground area was created that give5
animals in the N iniertime protection from standing on mud and water that can cause harni to their health. This rost £42.000 in
2022-2023 and £26.850 in 2023-2024.
Coronavirus
Trusiees have ensur¢d that the wellbeing of animals and volunteers is safeguarded. The re5pon5¢ from the community, donors and
the local authority has ensured that the charity has survived through th¢ coronavirus.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial position
On 3131 October 2024. the bank balance was £6,269. creditors £1.300. fixed &ssets £61,420 to give funds of £66.389.
During the year to 31 * October 2024 donation income exceeded expenditure to allow £26,850 payments for ground
improvements. Bank balances have reduced.
The Trustees would like to thank all those that gave donations and grants.
Reserves policy
The Trustees have reviewed reserves &% follows..
The amounts are rounded for clarity.
The average amounts of monthly expenditure have been £1.200.
The bank balance has fallen to £6,600. This need5 to be 5uffi¢ient io ¢ov¢r point5 when the day-lo-day timing of
expendiiure i5 ahead of income to prevent the account going overdrawn. The reserves policy points to a bank balance of
£7.600 that covers two months estimated expenditure.

reasonable amounts for the siz¢ of ihis chariiy. Thus, Ihe shortfall can be resiored. Moreover. Ihe charity can operate to

The principal risks and uncertainties facing the charity ar¢ danger to the animals in our care and accidents to volunteer5.
Our strategies io manage these risks ar¢ training of volunteer5 and trustees. close day by day involv¢m¢nt working with
the animals and volunteers.
Plans are to ¢ontinue to care for animals, train volunteers and build upon donation in¢om¢ to maintain or increase our
capacity to accept animals.

The charity is controlled by it5 governing document. a deed of trnst, and ¢onstitutes a limited company. limited by
guarantee, as defin¢d by th¢ Companies Act 2006.
The governing do¢ument is The Memorandum and Articles of Association. This is a company limited by guaran¢ee and
not having a share capital. The ggverning document wa5 registered at Companies House on 17th May 2011.

read by all Trustees and discussions h¢ld between the Trustees to reinforce understanding of the main points.

Basi5 of preparing the financial statements
The financial statements of the charitable company, which is a public b¢nefit entity und¢r FRS 102, have been
prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Staiemeni
of Recommended Practice appli¢able to charilies preparing th¢ir a¢¢ounts in a¢cordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicabl¢ in th¢ UK and Republi¢ of Ireland (FRS 1021 {effe¢tive l January 2015)., Financial
Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the
Companies Act 2006. The financial Statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the fund& it
is probable that ihe income will be received, and the amount can be measured reliably.
