The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies to with the Charities Act 2011 and with the Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019). ## **Objectives and Activities** We aim to support and enhance the social fabric of the school for children, parents and teachers, helping to provide a stimulating, enjoyable environment for the children. We encourage parental involvement, organise social occasions for children and parents, carry out fundraising ventures to help local charities and to support activities for the children in addition to those the school offers. ## **Achievements and Performance** In the year to 31 August 2024, Friends of Kew Green Preparatory School (“the Friends”) raised £39,813 (2023 - £34,631) and made charitable donations of £4,475 (2023- £11,843) - £4,475 to West London Action for Children. Funds as of 31 August 2024 were £26,469 (2023 - £12,174). There were two major social events held in 2023-24 and it was very much “business as usual” year, with the charity conducting numerous sales throughout the school year with fundraising activity in line with 2022-23. Income and costs were in line with expectations. ## **Reporting** It is noted that these financial statements for the year ended 31 August 2024 have been completed and filed past the reporting deadline. ## **Structure and Governance** There were changes in the trustee committee during the year ended 31 August 2024 and further changes were made after the year ended 31 August 2024, as detailed in the table below. I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independence Status** I acknowledge that I am a parent of a child that attends Kew Green Preparatory School, the school that which the Charity works alongside. I confirm my independence status by which I am not a Trustee of the Charity, am not closely related to a Trustee of the Charity, am not involved in administration of the Charity, have no commercial conflicts and have had no undue influence on me in the review of the financial statements. ## **Independent Examiner’s Statement** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that any material respect: 1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2. the financial statements do not accord with those records; or 3. the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Account and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
