WHIDDON VALLEY EVANGELICAL CHURCH Stoat Park, Whiddon Valley, Barnstaple EX32 8PT Annual Trustees’ Report for the Year ending 31 December 2025

Charity Registration Number: 1141903

Managing Trustees: Pastor David William Kay

Mr John William Stein Mr Stephen Packham Mr Russell Sean Brooks

Holding Trustee: Grace Baptist Trust Corporation.

The principal objective of our charity, Whiddon Valley Evangelical Church, is the advancement of the Christian Faith. The main activities undertaken to further this purpose for the public benefit are summarised in this report.

Our charity approved the ‘Constitution for Grace Baptist Church Charities – version 7.0.’ as our constituting document at a special meeting of the Church Members on 01/03/2011.

The managing trustees had been voted into their positions by the Church Membership having sought the will of God and have the general day by day control and management of the charity. The managing trustees are the Elder and Deacons of the Church.

Our Holding Trustees are the Grace Baptist Trust Corporation.

[This was decided by resolution at a Church Meeting on 6th July 2021 with an unanimous vote of those present and voting.]

During the past year the Managing Trustees have met together to discuss financial and practical matters Our treasurer is Mr Russell Brooks. He constantly reviews our level of spending which is reported to trustees on a regular basis, and who are also made aware of our level of reserves. Any large financial spending would be brought for the ratification of the whole membership at a Church Members’ Meeting. No changes can be made to the Constitution or the Rules and Regulations without a 75% majority of the whole membership.

During the past year we have never had any funds that were materially in deficit, and it is our policy not to hold large reserves.

The Managing Trustees have explored the concept of becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation [CIO] and discussed this with our Solicitors [Edward Connor Solicitors]. This will be taken further in 2026, as will the feasibility of employing [part time] a student from the Salisbury Seminary as a trainee pastor.
