The 2025 Show enjoyed near perfect Show weather.
We changed our licketing supplier this y8ar and found a much improved exptsrfence cC￿pared tLI the old supplier.
Advance sales werg buoyèd by an earfy purchase dlgcount.
W6 conllnue Eo grow our u88 of thè Showing Scene systsm ￿th more sections acc8Ptlng èntries online. We
introduced Sponsorship applicati(Trns lo this system with limited SUCCBSS. We continue Io s8ek an individual to
devote the requlred tlme and effort to the recruitmènt ol major Sporssc>rs.
Full Showground wi-fi was again provided for traders and our own Offi￿ and galÈ use and was boih effective and
well recelved. We also provided a free w-fi aC￿$S point lor M8¥nb8rs In the Members, Pavilion. For 2025 we were
depend8nl on Sky Link connections as oui supplier is no longer ab18 to offer the microwave connectron of previous
years. Looklng ahead we are hoping lo have a full fflbre broadband supply for the Showground by early 2026.
The new Pig Section, FWJW in the second year conlinu8d lo prove a very popular draw. We w8r6 unable to have the
Rabbit Section as the prospective organlser withdrew. Vel again the Poultry Section had t8k&n an earty decision not
lo run due to Ihe then ongoing Avian Flu situation. Thls do88 not look promlslng with the currenl DEFRA proposal
that any such gatherlng should hav8 8 very substantial void area belween thal section and any other IivE5lock
seclion. We simply don't have the space lo accomrnodate this.
The Show Luncheon was again well re¢eiv¢d and whilst il does constStu18 8 major cost lo the Associatton in respect
of Ihe Suncheons provided to judges and certain officials il is considered 89senli81 in attracting those paTlles.
Catering was avallable in the Members, Pavilion in addltion to the bar. We are cognisznt that the coffeeltea and fo(Kl
rovision was lacking in s8V6ral aspects and particutarly speed of service. This was la¥gely due to the original
providèr withdrawing without a long notlee period and havlng lo find Someone unlri8d and unt8s16d. We wlll be
slrlving lo improve this aspecl lor 2026 as othèrwise we risk ali8naling our Members.
Our musical enlertalnment offer continues lo evolve brfnglng a wide range of entertainers to the Show. We agaln
fealured our main stage and had the bandstand use all day as well as an afternoon of performances in Bu5kers'
Square, which we were d61Sghl6d lo have organised by Sourcè FM. We were gral8ful lo Andy Marshall for on
again anchorfng the main stage and ensuring a smooth llow of ongoing 8nlertainmenl.
The Taste ol Cornwall 8rea was agaln comprised of IndivldLJal modules. The moduSe5 were agaln largely popular.
During the year we have completed the Improvements necessary lo bring ihe Event BuÈlding on stream and this is
already proving populcirwith our hirers.
For 2025 we again enggged th8 Sarvices of a Social Medi8 expert for the three mon￿8 around Show (including a
full prosence on Show Dayi recognising the importanc8 of Ihls aspect And the fact that the offi¢¢ volunteers simp
do not have the time lo give Ihis Suffiagnt attentS0n.
We mtsved our radlo advertising affilSalion from Pirate FhA (now Greatest Hlts Radlo} to Rewlnd Radio.
Wlth th8 axceplion of th8 Gorkgral Secrelary. all officer5 of tho Association operate on an entlrely voluntary basis.
The Trustee5 ale pleased lo report that our core volunteers have continued lo operate and that our wider Showtlme
volunieer force has continued to be fulty supportive. The Trustees are very grateful to this faithful grotsp ol
supporters.
The Trustees believe that we need to continually ev0￿￿ and to enhance the educational aspects of Ihe Show to
bring in a younger audience and polentlally attracl new young8r volunteers into the Association and we continue lo
evolve the Sunflower Trail which proves very popular wlth our younger v1511ors. We have also tried to 8ncourage
more local schools lo gel Involved by offering discounis for school groups.

Financial review
With the much better weather this year we saw a surplus of income over expenditure of some £12,000 before non
financial entries and with a nel profit of just oveT £1,000 (compared to last year's loss of £77,000). but th15 In
essence flowed from Ihe hiring out of th8 ShowgrourKI and nowty repurposed Event Building which gon8raled sori
£13.000 more than the previous year.
The c051 base of the Show conllnues tu rtse as our contractors. wag6 bllls havè been affected by thè changes to
Nalional Insui8n¢e and th8 Livlng Wage 85 W811 as oth8r Infl8tlonary pr8ssurès. Du8 to this w8 ar8 looking in dopth
at any potential cost savings and intend io Irial th8 forw8Tding of some comp8titor tickets and car p8SS8s by 8m811
using our ticketing system. This will save on printing and postage costs. We will start with one or hvo sections and
hope lo expand progressively over coming years. We will also need to rewew our admission and other enlry
charg68 Its s6e il we can improve our income. We are reluctant lo increase the charges for traders by very much as
WQ are only loo 8w8re of the pr055ur05 on them which might mean a higher entry cost would meon that they decide
not lo attend.
We wlll also look to maximise the usage of our land and buildings for outside hire5 and In 2026 we have the
presltglous event belng orgenlsed by Flsherman's Frlends which we understand to be mostly sold out alre&dy.
During the year Lloyds Bank notified us thai they were no longer going to provlde Charity Tern￿ for us In vlew of wr
inueasing turnover bus they are unable to provide any Iransmission figures to allow u5 to calculate ihe cost of thls
mov6. We are considering our options but with our large requirements for coin ahead of Show for prlze money our
options ère 6Xtr6m61y limited. This is not helped by the forthcoming closure of OLir branch ol choice, Cambome, and
tho subslilulion ol a Banking Hub which we have been given lo understand may not be able to servlce our cash
requirernents.
Flnanclal Pollcles
Each year the flnance commlU8e agr88S th8 shtsrt, madlum and lonu 16rm spendlng and r&s6rve wjliey for the
ensuing period..
1. Funds are allocated lor the day lo day running of the Company.
2. Funds are allocated to maintain and improve the Showground facilit￿8.
3. A sum roughly equivalent kn the previous years operating cost of the Company Is held as conllngency agalnsl
a disastrous Show yeai.
4. Surplus cash funds are earmarked for eithei land puiGha5e, shoukl such become available, or for a more
subslanlial capital development within the Showground should Such a dgvelopm8nl b8 consid8r8d
appropriate and financially viable at some future date.
Whilst Ihere is the possiblllly Df a short-t8rm requirement of capital for18nd pureh858, or to support cash-flow should
Ihere be another disastrous y88r, the comm1tt88 b81i8V85 that 8 long t8rm inv8Strn8nt rnan8gem8nt arrang8m6nt
would be inappropriate due to the possibility of an inau5piclous liming for realis81ion of fuNd5. 11 is impossibl8 10
anticipata when a land buying opportunity might arise and such opportunlties are extremely ¥are.
Fur)ds ale thus inv&sled in cash accountslshort lertn bonds to glve the best interest relum available at the time of
Investment. Followng the banking ¢ris18 of 2007, a declslon was taken to splll the Inveslments lo ensure that the
Company benefits frorv the FSCS cover as far as posslb18. Thls does mean that S8CLJrlty of caplt81 takes
precedence over return.
The r8s8rve ol one year's oper8llnu cost Is hekj as recenl evidence has demonslraled that Shows which fail to hold
sufficient res8Tves allher struggle or fail il they have one or mor8 very poor years, e.g. a disease occurrence
followed by a wash out.
Th8 resultg for the year are shown In the slatomenl of financial activities on page 12 and show th8 nel incomi

12024.. £894,420> glves a total reserves figure of £818,332 12024.. £817.1281 of which the whole amount Is
unreslricled.
Due to thè costs which would be incurred in carrying out reguLgr revaluations of the freehold asset the Association
does not r8VlèW the value thoreof. There is, Ehough, little doubt that with present land pri￿$. there is a substantial

The major risks to which the Compsny Is exposed, as id8nlified by the Trustees, have been revtewed and systems

We contlnu8 to adapt to legislative changes, includSng Ihe upcomlng Martyn's Law wh￿h may have a slgnlficanl

Plans for futur• perlods
Whilst Ihe main focus is naturally on providlng the best possible visffor, member and exhlbltor experience al our own
